We’ve even tucked in a guitar, a library of our favorite books, and a super comfy Metolius couch for those lazy afternoons. Fun fact: because our spot is so secluded that big deliveries have to come in by helicopter, we’ve hand-picked every single item to make sure your off-the-grid stay feels special and incredibly comfortable.

Tennessee Creek Road typically becomes impassable to wheeled vehicles between Halloween and Thanksgiving and generally remains closed until Memorial Day. Depending on snowfall, this may occur earlier or later in the season.
During times when the road is snow-covered and impassable, guests may access the cabin only by snowshoe, backcountry skis, or snowmobile. A public parking lot, which is plowed and maintained throughout the winter, is available for guest parking before using these alternative methods of access.
🛷 Trail Conditions: About a 2-mile stretch of Tennessee Creek Road is groomed during winter for skiing and snowmobiling up to Forest Road 103. Beyond that point, the road is ungroomed and may have deep powder or snow drifts, making travel more challenging.
🚰 Water: Running water is not available during the winter months, as water storage is winterized. Guests must either bring their own water or melt snow.

We loved staying at Alpine Valley Ranch! We were there for the mountain games and this spot is a little piece of heaven. Only 30 minutes to Vail. The cabin is precious and after driving across the country. it felt great to sleep in a bed and take a hot shower.. And my daugher and some of her friends were able to camp there. We absolutely loved our stay! We were on roadtrip hitting 4 national parks. We stayed here when visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Although it is a drive to the park entrance, it's a beautiful drive and a beautiful way to catch sunset and sunrise spots. Also due to location, it was easier for us to hit one side of the park one day and the other the next due to snow closures on the through roads for the park. The town, the people, the Lodging. Everything was great! We would recommend this to anyone looking for something a little more high end on a budget with character!!

I’m so glad I read these reviews and booked my stay. I stayed in Laura with my fiancé and dog. We had everything we needed for our stay, especially our pupper. She had food bowls, a bed, and they even covered the couch which she enjoyed. Before booking I read reviews of people extending their stay and I can see why now. Such an awesome little cabin. We had a lovely (but challenging, carrying a toddler) hike up and stay at Cabin #2. The cabin was quaint, clean and more well-appointed than expected (I guess we didn't need to pack a hatchet?). It was hovering around freezing when we arrived, but we got the stove lit and got the space up into the 50s for a comfortable night. Sunrise was lovely from bed and we finished our trip with a hike up to the lake in the morning before descending to the car.

We loved this special little village. It's a very well-kept cabin and has everything you could need. The hike in was a bit tough, but well worth it and very straightforward! We were able to see lots of wildlife and enjoy time at the nearby lake. There's a marmot that runs around the abandoned town and plenty of pika in the surrounding area. Will remember this trip for a while.

What an absolute GEM of a spot! Went up for a little solo retreat, and the cabin had absolutely everything I needed for a cozy camping experience but with a roof over my head and all camping basics provided plus a little more! I hiked over to Cleveland Lake, enjoyed the cozy cabin at night, and woke up to a stunning sunrise. It’s a relatively accessible spot, meaning you don’t have to hike very many miles to get there, but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere in only the best way. Would absolutely come again!!!

Weekend Trip to Gondola Village at Holy Cross
Incredible stay at Ben’s gondola village! We hiked in from the 727/759 intersection and it was a BURNER but so worth it for the views. We are new to packing in and WAY overpacked our packs. Plenty of propane there, save yourself some weight.
The sunrises were absolutely magical! You can watch them from the hut or walk down to the gondolas for a good view. The hut is so cozy, we could have stayed in there all day.
We did take a hike up the road for a quick dip in Cleveland Lake and will be dreaming about it until we return. Absolutely freezing but beautiful!

S.L. umber Yard and Leadville have so much personality, I wish I stayed longer than a night. This stay was the end of my 8-night trip through Colorado and it’s one of my favorites.
The Cora Cabin is so dang cute and has all the amenities for a comfortable stay, including a record player and vintage vinyls!I traveled with my dog and the staff had dog bowls and a pet bed waiting for him in the cabin.
The bed was very comfortable and it was convenient having a kitchenette.
I was concerned about the cabin being right next to the train tracks but it’s my understanding the train only runs twice a day - at least this time of year.
The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful.

Simple high country perfection. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the comfort of the cabin. Staying in a cabin named for a sex worker of the 1880’s-1890’s was a bonus!

Really easy check in process. Friendly staff. Great little cottages. Well designed and very comfortable. Since there is no forced air (heat comes from the floor) we wished that we had run the fan as it was a little hot. Otherwise all of the features had an easy to understand direction label.

Such a cozy and peaceful cabin! Perfect for a quiet getaway—remote enough to feel like an escape, but still super comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, which made the whole experience seamless. Would absolutely come back!

Absolutely loved this trip, we ended up booking an extra night because we wanted more time!! Changing the booking was very simple and went smooth and they were more than accommodating, making sure we had enough supplies since we added an extra night. Would recommend and will definitely be staying here in the future.
