We have a 100+ acre working ranch with access to the Arkansas river for fishing, kayaking or just dipping your feet in. We have great views of the Collegiate Peaks 14ers and the Harvard trail is just up the hill. Frenchman's creek runs through the ranch which has hay fields, aspens, cottonwoods, pinons, cows, chickens, sheep and pigs. Deer, elk, coyotes and bobcats also wander through. Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, truck campers, vans, tents, and hammocks. Portable toilets are only a short walk away from sites. We also have several cornhole toss games set up. Friendly, well-mannered dogs are welcome to enjoy YOUR campsite off leash, but please clean up after your dog.
We are an ideal basecamp for hiking or biking trail enthusiasts,with direct access to the Little Scraggy Trail and Segment #3 of the Colorado Trail. Little Scraggy Trailhead is 3.5 miles away, with easy access for biking, hiking, or horseback riding on the many other trails of the Buffalo Creek area.
You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek.
This is a working ranch where we raise and train Shire draft horses and also ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request.

What a lovely 2 nights spent among the trees and sky in Evergreen. The space is so comfortable and relaxing. You wake up to pine trees and delicious coffee in the Chemex. We watched movies on the big screen, made pizzas in the Ooni oven and soaked in the hot tub. The beds were just right and the kitchen had what we needed. We even had a deer family visit us in the snow. The hosts were so nice and great communicators. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Aspen Forest in Evergreen Colorado
We chose to stay at the cabin with the sauna. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and very cozy. Being there when it snowed really added to the experience and made it feel extra peaceful and special. Just be sure to drive carefully in snowy/icy weather. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The host was very responsive and communicative, which we appreciated. Overall, a lovely cabin and a great stay.

A gorgeous, private space for those that love nature, but also want luxury. There were heated floors, a loft that was fun for the kids, a projection screen for movie nights, a huge window that made you feel like you were outside, a sauna and everything you need to feel safe and cozy.

This was the perfect cabin for a family getaway. We enjoyed all the amenities: the big screen for movies, wood burning stove and hot tub. The bed was comfy and scenery pretty. I personally would have liked a normal coffee pot, but my son liked the drip pot. It was nice to have laundry onsite to wash towels.

What a magical, well cared for place. It was clear the owners thought of every special touch. We stayed in the big cabin on the property. My partner and I loved our stay at the tiny house! The sauna setup and giant windows were really the selling points for us. Was also fun to hand-grind coffee to be more present. The aspen leaves changing were an added bonus! There were two other sites on the property, but the folks staying there were friendly, and it was overall still a very peaceful place. 10/10 recommend for a little weekend getaway for two.

Absolutely loved this spot! The small cabin is very comfortable & has everything you need in regard to chairs, cookware, etc. My only advice would be to be sure to know your way out because Google maps got me there easily but there’s no cell service so be sure to remember your way back. Beautiful lake & Tim was so helpful!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the A frame cabin. The modern and minimalist design was really comfy- we felt right at home. There are many great places to explore and hike nearby. We enjoyed starting and ending our days appreciating the nature views in the living room. The fall was a beautiful time of year to visit and Ernest was a great host!

We were extremely thrilled to revisit Will and Jake and their campsite. As always the campsite was clean, inviting, and well maintained. Jake cooked for us again and the gourmet burgers did not disappoint. As the last campers of the season, we were pleased to relax in a pine tree haven.
