Dogs must be on a leash at all times. The marshland area on Dillon’s Point is a particularly favorite place for fishing. A parking fee is required. Three "Enroute" campsites are available for an overnight stay on a "first-come, first-served" basis with no reservations possible. This camping is limited to motorhomes or vehicles with trailers, which must be fully self-contained. Tents are not permitted. Collecting or destroying anything in the park, including mushrooms, is prohibited.

The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. gorgeous spot and gorgeous tub. thank you andrea! it’s was extremely private and the tub leveled up our experience, now it will feel hard to go camping without one! :P if you’re going in the fall or winter, do NOT skip out on the heater add on. i figured since it was an insulated yurt we would be fine, but we were extremely cold when going to bed! luckily, the water was nice and hot all night in the tub, which was incredible. hope to come back here one day.

Weekend Trip to Maple Creek Ranch

My family and I had the best time camping at Maple Creek Ranch. We stayed at Site 2, which was privately nestled among the trees—clean, flat, and perfectly peaceful. The site included a deep firepit and a sturdy picnic table, making it easy to relax and cook meals together. The amenities were fantastic. There was a spotless outhouse just about a hundred feet away (with a flushing toilet!), and a hot shower next to the pond. The pond itself was stocked with bluegill and bass, and my family caught their first-ever fish there—an unforgettable memory! But the highlight of our stay was Ron, the host. He’s an absolute gem—so kind, genuine, and full of great stories. He brought us firewood and water and when my car battery died on our last day, he didn’t hesitate to drive over with his truck and give me a jump. His hospitality truly made our trip special. We’ll absolutely be coming back and can’t recommend Maple Creek Ranch enough to anyone visiting the Cohasset/Chico area!

Grub CSA Farm was a great place to stay in Chico. It was easy to get in and out of town by bike. It also felt secluded and safe. You’re still in a neighborhood, so there is farm, neighborhood noise, and wildlife noise. The directions to the campsite were incorrect and it took us about 15 min of driving around in circles to find the Hipcamp. There’s a sign off of Dairy that indicates Hipcamp, and not off of West Sacramento like the host provided directions say. Half of our picnic table was sitting in star thistle which was quite annoying to navigate around. Overall, would stay here again when in Chico.

This place may not be for everyone, but for two dual sport motorcycle campers shut out of “normal” campgrounds due to the government shutdown, it was perfect. Kind of a steampunk vibe with lots of concrete and steel, with a view of the Stony Gorge Reservoir spillway. It is central to some fantastic motorcycle riding.

Huge area to choose a spot to camp. Plenty of trees for hammock camping and lots of flat area for tents. Common area was super cool with a HOT outdoor shower. Shower does have walls that cover your torso and stuff, but it's not completely enclosed. Shared kitchen facilities, fridge, freezer, etc. all pretty top notch for a hipcamp spot. Two flush toilets in a shed structure with a lockable door. Would love a sink in there :) Super, super friendly and hospitable hosts.
