On the property itself, there are three year-round flowing creeks.

There is Poison Oak on the property; please be mindful. There are bears, but they will normally stay away from the campsite. Please put your food away to prevent wildlife from coming into your camp. The campsite is approximately 3 miles from the river, and it is connected to a creek that flows into the river. These creeks run year-round and are perfect for taking a dip! This is a 253 Acre property near the Sacramento River that flows through the area of Lakehead near Redding and Shasta Lake. There are a couple of really good fishing spots along the river. On the property itself, there are three year-round flowing creeks.
Lots of Deer on the property since we don’t hunt, and so they come on our land as a little sanctuary. Beautiful view of the Shasta area mountains. Multiple places to hike and find water holes.
There is Poison Oak on the property; please be mindful. There are bears, but they will normally stay away from the campsite. Please put your food away to prevent wildlife from coming into your camp. There are fish in the Sacramento River that can be fished for. This is the wilderness; there are mosquitoes, flies, and other bugs. Please bring bug spray.

I had an incredible stay at this riverfront camp. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, clean, and right on the water. Michael, the host, was extremely hospitable and kind. You can tell he truly cares about the land and the people who come to enjoy it.
Waking up to the sound of the Trinity and being able to step out and swing flies right from camp was unreal. I managed to bring a few nice steelhead to the net without ever having to leave the property. If you’re a fisherman, this place is gold. If you’re a family looking for a quiet place to relax, swim, explore, and enjoy the outdoors, it’s perfect for you too.

We ended up being the only campers on an early November day, so Wayne graciously let us choose whichever site we liked. We pitched our tent right by the communal fire pit and picnic tables instead of a designated site. The ground was easy to drive stakes into, and Wayne even offered more substantial stakes in case they were needed.
His sweet dog (Cowboy) and horse (Coco) paid some very welcome visits. They're sneaky for treats, so watch your back! ;)
A hose is nearby that supplies filtered fresh spring water, and the toilet room is very convenient. The hot showers were down due to some construction, but we enjoyed our stay a lot! We would recommend this place as a nice getaway, or as a stop on your way to the redwoods or Eureka (we did both).

This property is beautifully set with views of the mountains and forests all around (we got an amazing sunset!) and a stream / swimming hole with little beach right below. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, meeting us when we arrived to help us get situated, talking with us (also giving plenty of space and alone time, but always available and helpful if we needed anything), even offering fresh fruit and vegetables from their trees and garden. They have a friendly dog and horse which roam the property. Our stay was very enjoyable, peaceful, and relaxing.
The only possible downside is that it's somewhat challenging to get to--it's remote, and the handful of miles toward the end down a narrow, winding, at times unpaved (in one relatively short stretch, and then once on the property itself) road with occasional places to pass were a nail-biter, especially driving an RV--but the drive in and out was incredibly scenic and worth the experience in between.

We stayed at Michael’s property right on the Trinity River, and it was a great experience. The directions were easy to follow, making it simple to find. The campground was clean, and the host was friendly and helpful. The best part was having the entire site to ourselves, which was a huge plus. River access was convenient, and we spent plenty of time by the water. There’s also plenty of shade around the property to set up your tent.
The only thing to mention is that the campsite is fairly close to the boat launch, so you might hear some activity during the day. Other than that, it’s an excellent spot to camp.

RIGHT ON THE RIVER! Fish jumping right in front of you. I caught a little rainbow every morning I was there off a tiny fly. Too small to keep but the experience was amazing. There are big fish in the river too but were too wise to what I was fishing with. Its right by the boat launch so you can take your floatables and cruze down the river as long as you have a ride back to camp. We had an awesome time, a gem on the trinity river!

Had such an amazing time at fly camp. We got the whole campsite to ourselves, which made it extra special. The bathroom was close enough to us and the water was just a few feet away. We saw a lot of wildlife and caught over 20 fish. It was awesome! Wood definitely go again 10/10!

We would have loved to stay much longer. It's a lovely small park with enormous shade trees, a nice meadow and a little creek. Closer to the freeway but quiet. The best part is everything in the area! From the Lassen volcanic area to Shasta lake, throw in about a hundred waterfalls and we could spend weeks having a great time.
