The house is equipped with ultra fast wifi and you can even take meetings out in the fresh air on the deck! Guests have access to both floors, indoor space and deck of the tree house. There is a keypad on the front door for easy self check-in and check-out. We will send you a unique access code before you arrive. Feel free to bring your furry friends along, under 55lbs. doggie's are welcome, with prior approval, message me for details. Not on furniture please :) The driveway is on a slight incline and can fit up to 4 parked cars (a rarity in the mountains). Please do your best to squeeze in and avoid street parking. Angel's Nest is a gem - especially at the price! It's a beautiful mountain cabin that has family entertainment in mind. We played shuffleboard all afternoon and switched it up with the arcade machine and basketball; the kids had a blast! Really lovely kitchen, bedrooms and living areas as well! Great for a family mountain getaway. Only warning is: there are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway. Keep that in mind when if that's an issue for you. Martin was also very responsive and hospitable! We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay and so close to Lake Gregory! My family and I walked there and the scenery as we walked was amazing. We enjoyed board games at night as well as the TV. Upstairs had an amazing studio styled home with a wonderful array of vinyls to listen to! The Sky Bear Cabin was also very cozy, there was a loft where you can bask in the sun.

This was the perfect little romantic getaway! My partner and I had the best time, and I can also see how wonderful it would be for some peaceful solo time. It’s private, quiet, calm, and incredibly relaxing. The stargazing was exceptional. John’s off-the-grid home is truly beautiful, and it’s amazing to see the love and care he put into building his cabin. You can really feel his positive energy in the space, and his lifestyle is so inspiring. The paved pathway was well maintained, and we felt comfortable driving up in a sedan. Check-in was smooth, and John went above and beyond with a thoughtful, thorough walkthrough of the property. He’s thought of all the little details to make sure guests have the best possible experience! This place exceeded our expectations — we’ll definitely be back!

Very cozy cabin with beautiful views and walking paths. The drive into John's land is part of the whole experience too - really makes you feel like you're entering a different world and getting away from the hustle of the city. The cabin is small (ideal for 2 people) but we were able to fit in a pack-n-play for our infant too, who slept like a dream thanks to the peaceful quiet and the breezy weather at night. My husband & I enjoyed sitting by the fire pit to decompress, but also loved keeping things dark to soak in the incredible stargazing views.

This home is beautiful, full of light, and well-appointed. The steep stairs and driveway are no joke, so I wouldn’t recommend it for very young children. The bunk beds and third floor game room were huge hits. The jack-and-jill bathroom connecting the main bedroom with the kids room provided both privacy and peace of mind. The main bed is also amongst the most comfortable I’ve slept on.

This spot is incredible. Truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life, and it's 15 minutes from the City's swirl. Lydia's little cabin really does feel like escaping into a cute, cozy fairytale in the woods. I loved all the little details in the furnishings and the natural wood everywhere inside was gorgeous. Perfect for a little retreat away. The room upstairs is a little cramped for taller individuals, but we managed just fine! Also, the upstairs can get a little toasty in the afternoons, but even during a heat advisory we did ok - the downstairs space stayed plenty comfortable with the small AC unit - and the upstairs cooled down very pleasantly in the evening with the windows open. Lots of birds (Seller's Jays, nuthatches, brown creepers, juncos and chickadees), squirrels and chipmunks to watch comfortably from the shaded bench outside. While there are a couple neighbors somewhat close by, it feels very private and quiet with how wooded the area is and being located off a private road. We had an exceptional time just lounging. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your group will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional. Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. There is plenty of clean, non potable drinking water, custom built toilets and optional hot showers, limited electrical use, cell phone charging and low power use devices as I am off grid. There is a fitness and nature trail on the property and Pacific Crest trail is approx 20 to 30 min drive, Mountain park which has many miles of hiking trails and an Indian reservation with hikes to many petroglphs. Things to see are the World famous Tehachapi railway loop, historic downtown, vineyards, mountain spirit center a Buddhist temple, glider rides, bicycle riding and fishing. There is cell service around the property but intermittent at the campsites.
