Great little camp. Beautiful views of the rolling hills and vineyards. The hosts were very thoughtful and communicative. Bathroom is a porta potty style, but VERY clean. Would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to or thru the SLO/Avila Beach/Pismo Beach area.

We last minute (I mean 7pm night of) and they were so welcoming and had everything prepped for us. The property has everything you could dream of. It truly felt like a vacation. We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends!

We only stayed a short time on a road trip on the PCH. Very quiet camp, dark sky for stargazing, and a really great base for Pismo. Lovely walk down into Arroyo Grande for dinner, if simple pleasures float your boat, this is perfect.

5 nights at SLO Country Camp

Ken and Judi have created a very tranquil spot to camp off the beaten path. Ken was very communicative about directions to the site. I plan to camp there again when I am back in the area to visit family!

1 night at Wendee's Whimsical Campsite

This was such a fun and truly unique camping experience at Wendee's Whimsical Camp Site. The hosts have transformed their property into a one-of-a-kind getaway with their outdoor creativity that will delight the young and young at heart. They've built an enchanting walking path, constructed two bridges, one being a full suspension bridge, fashioned stairways from fallen tree trunks, formed a quaint fire pit area with seats out of logs, and erected a full bath in its own little hut complete with toilet, sink, shower (with hot water) and hotel-quality towels. Take advantage of every inch of this place which is easy to do since you are the only ones there. Yes, this is a completely private camp site, and that's what we loved most about it. The hosts are so kind and provide so much to make your stay top notch including a gas grill, all the items to make S'Mores, a hammock in an oak tree grove, lanterns on the picnic table, flashlights, and even bandaids. We have a 1985 VW Westfalia camper and the road leading to the camp site (which the owners also had to carve out of their land) is a bit arduous with inclines and turns. We made it, but a car with tent camping would've been preferable and just as perfect of an overall experience. We highly praise William and Wendee for their foresight and passion in turning their parcel into a real gem for all the campers out there looking for an adventure like no other! Put this one on your list if you are planning a trip to the CA Central Coast

I loved the campground. The cabin area, restrooms and showers were very clean, we had a lot of space and there was a space heater in the cabin which was perfect for the cold night. It was very close to the beach and conveniently close to a lot of stores and restraunts. The host was very kind. We will definitely be coming back again.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was clean and had plenty of electrical plugs to recharge our phones, headlamps, etc. The pool was clean and water heated. Restrooms and showers were very clean too. One tiny criticism is that the women's restroom light sensor turns off quickly. I had to come out of the stall to waive my hand to get the lights to turn on again. Overall, we enjoyed it and will stay again if the opportunity presents.

I had such a peaceful and rejuvenating stay at this spot. The views were absolutely stunning—rolling hills and open skies that made for perfect sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing. Each morning, I woke up to the sound of birdsong, which made the whole experience feel even more serene. Site was easily accessed and had a nice fenced in area around the camp for my dog to stretch his legs and sniff around

what a peaceful retreat it was staying in this little cabin! comfy bed, a porch and birds on surround sound. it was like staying in a sanctuary! if you’re looking to get off the grid and not have the sound of roads anywhere nearby, this is the place. i would absolutely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We’re a family of 5; plus two dogs and my mom joined us as well. The scenery is just beautiful, weather was great. We got to see cool wildlife, lots of birds, and listened to owls and coyotes at night. The added features of portapotty (very clean) and the “kitchen” and sink make the camping experience super easy. Camp hosts are very responsive and welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here.

I loved camping here! Kenney was so nice and very helpful. The property was clean and beautiful. We loved meeting his dogs when they came down to greet us and seeing the abundant wildlife there. The cows came right over by our cars while we camped. His property was large enough for us to hike around and the views were stellar and romatic. Camping in winecountry! We will be back!

Our ranch consists of 142 acres located at the top of East Cuesta Grade, elevation approximately 2100 ft. We are secluded and it feels like you're far away from city life yet San Luis Obispo is only a twenty minute drive away. We neighbor Los Padres National Forest which has several miles of hiking and biking trails. On our farm we have 10 sheep, 10 goats, 22 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs and a cat. Interaction with farm animals is common place as most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)

SLO Country Camp was once a part of the Serpa Ranch, one of the early ranches of the Central Coast. It’s remained a beautiful rural pocket in the Edna Valley area of San Luis Obispo. It’s quiet and peaceful, enjoy your morning coffee listening to all the birds waking up. There’s a private creek not far away that draws deer and wildlife. Just saw 3 deer run through out property 2 days ago. Owls, red tail hawks, eagles, squirrels and jack rabbits we see frequently. And you can listen to the coyotes howling at night. We’re surrounded by rolling coastal hills, vineyards, horses, cattle and also land apportioned to the Land Conservancy. Walk down our road and then left up to the top of the hill for a panoramic view of the entire area with the city San Luis Obispo at a distance. Our two sites are flat on decomposed granite pads. Both have excellent views and easy access to our common areas: big sink and counter, and a cold-water outdoor "beach-type" shower. Firewood is available for purchase at camp for those wanting to use the fire pit, or you can bring your own. The San Luis Obispo, Central Coast has so much to see and do! Hiking trails abound, our favorites are Bob Jones trail to walk or bike to Avila Beach, Johnson Ranch and Irish Hills for hiking hills, the Ridge trail for a view over Shell and Avila beaches, and the Harmony Trail to walk grassy cliffs by the ocean. Montano de Oro is only 15 minutes away with rocky ocean cliff trails that lead down to the coastline. We are 5 minutes from the beginning of the Edna Valley winery trail with 30 wineries or more I’ve lost count. Tasting and relaxing in great atmospheres. Our favorites are Biddle Ranch, Talley, Mailene, Chamisal, Bailyanna... but there are so many more. We’re 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, 10–12 minutes to Avila or Pismo beaches. Morro Bay is 25 minutes. And we’re just 5 minutes off the 101 for easy access to traveling. The Central Coast has almost everything for fun, adventure and food. Surfing, biking, hiking, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, wine and beer culture, ranch lands, shopping and restaurants and we’re close to it all.

The weather at Highlands Ranch is more like the inland Atascadero side hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months. We have 4 terraced, no hook up, spots available all of which can accommodate 2 or 4 wheel drive camper vans, trucks or cars. One of the sites can be used for fifth wheel, small motorhome or multiple camper type vehicles and of course tents can be set up on all sites. Sites range from small to extra large, that are quaintly studded with oak trees and native greenery for a peaceful camp off the road. Also, from our sites available, there is only a 5 minute walk to the local, off the beaten path, restaurant called the Half Way Station (great food, beer/ wine, sweets and live music) open Thursday through Sunday, which you can find on Facebook or Instagram. You may also like, a drive, further west is the Morro Creek Ranch Country Store (Snacks, Oils, Avocados, and more), which you can find on Facebook as well and of course further west with tons of ocean fun is Morro Bay. We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year. See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

One trailer is sleeping quarters with a mini kitchenette and the other trailer is a full bathroom with shower. The spaces are small and cozy. The views are epic. Overlooking the majestic Paso Robles valley with vineyards with world class views, the spacious deck is the place to be for sunset. The Tiny House: A Fairy tale cottage style wooden tiny home built in the 1980's with a bottle wall, full bath, and reading nook. This three story wonder will leave you inspired to step into your own story. Fully equipped with a small kitchen, queen bed, reading nook and two beautiful outdoor decks, you'll feel like you stepped into another world. The Main Bungalow is a 1970's GEM, built by a movie industry icon with views of the valley through the stunning and huge five windows overlooking the Salinas River. Two bedrooms downstairs and two full baths, accompany a well appointed kitchen. The upstairs loft accommodates two additional semi private queen beds, and additional seating area. Sunrises from the bedrooms are rivaled by few. Guest access Most all of the property except the barn. Access to the riverbed. Other things to note We have a cell tower on our property. Horseshoes are available by the tiny house.
