OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

The Squattage was great to stay at and James and Diane were amazing hosts. We were nervous about the heat but the Squattage was equipped with an AC unit and fans. Definitely recommend if you're looking to get away from for a bit.

Joe's space was perfect for our family of 4. It was nice to explore the National Parks during the day and have a place to relax in the evenings. It's close to restaurants and shops in Three Rivers and just 4 miles from the entrance to Sequoia NP. My children also enjoyed exploring the river just a short drive away. The property is quiet. Joe was friendly, had great tips for our visit and was responsive when we had a slight issue. We hope to visit the area again and would happily stay at Joe's in the future. Highly recommend!

It was fun especially if you want to just get out for the day. Dogs were probably the best part, they will get you dirty by rubbing against you but I didn’t mind. Tent was very clean as well as the restrooms.

The trailer is nestled between an abundance of greenery and the A-Frame cabin.

Also, I thought that it was going to be further from the actual park but not a bad drive at all! 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone taking a trip to sequoia.

Staying with Wendi was amazing! Laying out by the river felt serene and the stars at night were magical. There are also a lot of stores, coffee shops, and restaraunt close by. Weekend Trip to Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond

We had a wonderful overnight stay in the glamping tent. My partner and I took the Amtrak down from the Bay Area for a little getaway and study trip, and this farm was exactly what we needed. It was about a 30-minute Lyft ride from the train station. The host was responsive, reasonable, and even checked in to make sure we'd be able to get a ride back. We scheduled one ahead of time, and everything went smoothly. The glamping tent was spacious, thoughtfully set up, and very comfortable. We slept so well that we naturally woke up at 4:00 a.m. feeling completely rested and spent the quiet morning doing yoga and meditating before the farm came to life. We made the most of the property—paddling around the lake on the kayaks and stand-up paddleboard, relaxing on the swings on the dock, and even lighting a morning fire to watch the sunrise. The friendly guard dogs (who take their jobs seriously!), the duck, goats, turkeys, and peacocks gave the farm character. If you're looking for a peaceful place to unplug and reconnect with nature, we'd recommend staying here.

Finding this place was such a gift. I wanted to explore the Tule River and have a camp like experience with my son. I was able to simply arrive, settle in, and enjoy the grounds. Having access to the kitchen, stove, and refrigerator made everything so much easier and meant we didn't have to pack nearly as much. It took so much stress off my nervous system and allowed me extra time to connect with my son and nature. The cabin was quaint and thoughtfully cared for. You can feel the intention behind this place, everything has been created with simplicity, care, and respect for the land. I really feel like I found a pocket of peace. Looking forward to checking out the cow pasture and star gazing next time. Thank you Gary, sincerely.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here on Joe’s property! He provided detailed instructions making it easy to find even with it being dark when we arrived. We stayed in the studio, which was incredibly clean and comfortable. Very close to the sequoia national park entrance. Joe himself had great recommendations from what to see in the park as well as places to try around town! While Joe greeted us when we first arrived, there were no interruptions during our stay and it felt secluded/private. Can’t recommend this stay enough.

We had all of the amenities needed to com back to after a day of hiking out of the national park.
