Spent just under two weeks in the Airstream as a solo traveler and it was perfect.
Location was great - 5 minutes to things in Paradise, 20-30 minutes to things in Chico. Property was wonderful. Beautifully landscaped and tended. Lovely places to sit. Dogs and cats are friendly and chickens, sheep, and alpaca are fun to have around.
The trailer was wonderful. Well appointed and nice to have the equivalent of a separate full-sized couch to hang out on while reading.
Hosts were lovely. Very communicative, responsive, and welcoming.
I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Johanna was such an amazing host! Very communicative and helpful, but also hands off unless you need something. Which, I didn't once I was there. The goat shed had everything I could possibly need and more! I had forgot the cable to charge my headlamp, but a a charging cable was provided and worked great with the power bank. The hot water was a great touch. I slept great! Will make sure to re-book if I need somewhere to stay in the area again!

I had the loveliest time in the goat shed. The space is small but well kitted out with the basics, like battery powered lights, a propane stove, water, dishes, towels and extra blankets. But when I arrived, I also found some extra treats, like nice lotion, oracle cards and hot water left out so that I could make tea when I arrived on a cold night. Johanna couldn't have been nicer. I will 100% come back the next time I'm passing through.

I had a wonderful time at One Thing Ranch with Nancy! The airstream was comfortable with plentiful amenities. This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay.
I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property.
The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!

Weekend Trip to One Thing Ranch - Alpacas & Llamas
We just had another incredible stay at One Thing Ranch with the exceptional host, Nancy. This time, we introduced some close friends to this hidden gem.
Nancy's hospitality was outstanding from the moment we arrived. She had the AC in the Silver Streamer camper already going to welcome us. The amenities are always thoughtful and complete; this visit, she had even added bug spray, nuts, and a hammock for our use.
Each morning, Nancy greeted us and has coffee and tea avaliable add day, then took us on a tour to feed the farm's cute animals. She also provides filtered water and countless other little touches that make a stay here special.
We always feel safe and completely welcome here. One Thing Ranch is our absolute go-to, and we won't stay anywhere else in the area.
It's the perfect spot for families, groups of friends, or a solo retreat. The location is ideal for exploring local attractions like the caves, Shasta Lake, and Burney Falls.

Where to go
Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area
Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area is only about a half-hour south of Red Bluff, offering reservable campsites for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 31 feet in length. Covered in oak forest, the area is home to the yellow-billed cuckoo in summer and the bald eagle in winter. It also sits alongside the Sacramento River and has a boat launch for easy access to fishing, boating, and water sports. With hot showers, flush toilets, and picnic areas, the park’s on-site campground is comfortably equipped for small or large groups.
Lassen Volcanic National Park
For an otherworldly experience, explore the volcanic landscapes and geothermal features of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Steam and volcanic-gas vents called fumaroles can be found around many areas of the park. Big Boiler is the biggest of the bunch. Be careful, as steam temperatures can exceed 300°F. There are seven campgrounds in the park, including RV sites, group campsites, and even stock corrals for camping with pack animals. Next to the park is Lassen National Forest with campgrounds of its own as well as the renowned Subway Cave—a self-guided underground trail through a lava tube.
Shasta-Trinity National Forest
California’s largest national forest, Shasta-Trinity spans over two-million acres and features over 6,000 miles of rivers and streams. Towering above the forest is Mount Shasta, rising to an elevation of 14,179 feet. Rock climbing and mountaineering are popular activities here, but reaching the summit of the prominent volcano is only for the most experienced of climbers. Both primitive and more developed campgrounds are available, including cabin rentals, RV camping, and dispersed camping for a quieter stay with fewer modern amenities.
When to go
Summer is the most popular time of year to go camping near Red Bluff. It is also the driest time of year for the region, with daytime temperatures ranging into the 100s. Summer is also the peak season for mosquitoes and other insects, especially near bodies of water. For milder temperatures, fewer insects, and less crowds, springtime may be preferable. The melting snow leads to more active waterfalls, and some of the biggest steelhead trout can be caught in February and March.
