We are a small farm on a 1 acre gated property that has two RV spots and a bar shed. We have full hookups in both sites.
Our town is rural but it's still close to HWY 101. We do live on the property, close enough if you need anything but far enough for privacy. We host happy hour for campers who are interested. Although the hours depend on arrival and our availability.
We have a common area between the two sites that offered a nice fire pit. Our farm has 3 goats, 2 pot bellied pigs and 20 chickens that lay fresh eggs daily. We LOVE animals but we CANNOT ALLOW PETS.
Also, sorry no tent camping. RV's only. We do not provide bathrooms or showers on site. Don’t have an RV? RENT OURS! We have everything you need for your family. Enjoy a weekend on the farm and glamp in our RV. We have all the amenities of home.
Coming to enjoy the area? The property is just a few mins off the 101 freeway on the Central Coast. We are only 15 mins South of Pismo Beach, 30 mins south of San Luis Obispo and an hour North of Santa Barbara. The beach, wineries and shopping are all very close. Or if you are looking for a quiet retreat with some super sweet farm animals stay here and enjoy the farm.
We do rent both sites out at the same time so if it’s privacy you are looking for please message us. Or If you would like to camp with friends or family we can accommodate two additional trailers. Again please message us to arrange this.

Our ranch consists of 142 acres located at the top of East Cuesta Grade, elevation approximately 2100 ft. We are secluded and it feels like you're far away from city life yet San Luis Obispo is only a twenty minute drive away. We neighbor Los Padres National Forest which has several miles of hiking and biking trails.
On our farm we have 10 sheep, 10 goats, 29 chickens, 2 pigs, 5 dogs and a cat. Interaction with farm animals is common place as most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Sheer cliffs attest to area being underwater, long ago. Galaxies overhead at night are awesome and free from light pollution. Thus, great stargazing! Cattle and forage hay ranch, but cattle could be anywhere on the property. Absolutely no open fires. We are part of an Agricultural Conservancy. We do offer ranch tours at various times of the year. You may request a tour for an additional charge, when available. You'll have a 360 degree view overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountain Range as far as you can see to the West and the Sierra Nevada Range, as far as you can see to the East.
We are conveniently located about 15 minutes off Hwy 101, to the North of San Miguel, and offer a private place to relax and rest overnight on your way to or from your other destinations. It is quiet! Occasionally, coyotes howl at night or our two handsome Angus bulls bellow, or a wild boar family grunts as they head from one location to another, usually with an entourage of piglets... just passing through. They are all part of the local country in California and add to the beauty, if you're fortunate enough to hear them from afar. The boar migrate and may not be around for weeks, as they have traveled elsewhere. You may miss all night sounds except the breeze, as most nights are completely silent. It's a rejuvenating experience!
Please ask if interested in local day trips or points of interest, and we will try to accommodate you. We will suggest local activities. Lakes Nacimiento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita are an easy distance. All three are quite different from one another. Wine and Beer get a lot of press and rightly so, but there are other relaxing and inspiring activities for all, available when you are here! Each community has a city or town park, so you can enjoy relaxing or playing with your children on hot days, under tall, well-established trees. Everyone needs time to exercise, especially children!
Camp Roberts, just North of Paso Robles, has two military museums to visit and the West Garrison is just over the 101 to the West of us! Out near the Paso Robles Airport there is the Warbird Museum, a must for military aircraft and history buffs. iginal full-size restored aircraft with amazing stories behind each one. numbers of cars Breweries, numerous wineries, and distilleries abound! Beautiful country roads and Parkfield, the earthquake capital of the world, are about a 40 min. drive. Not far away... is the magnificent Pacific Ocean! Please close your umbrella when your not at the site, especially when it's windy. We have lost far to many very expensive solar light umbrellas due to the wind when it picks up.
Please support our farm by buying eggs, hats, stickers, and other items, all for sale in the barn.

Wildlife is part of the rhythm here—deer in the pastures, cows wandering through like they own the place, and great bird-watching (quail in the grass, hawks cruising above, owls after sunset, hummingbirds and blue jays in the oaks).
Straightforward, from-scratch breakfast by Christy (trained chef, long-time culinary instructor, and One Three Ghee co-founder): baked goods, fresh fruit, and ranch eggs when the gals are laying.

Christy was the best Hipcamp host I've had so far! She went above and beyond, bringing homemade breakfast in the morning! The bathroom and shower were cleaner than some indoor showers I've experienced! A wonderful place to camp. The roaming horses and cows were a nice experience as well. 5 Stars!

The area is very peaceful, and the views from the camp site are stunning. Photos don't do it justice. They provide lots of open space at the site and a nice setup to enjoy. The site was easy to find from their instructions and signage. We would definitely stay again.
A word of caution to RVers: Make sure your stuff is well secured. We thought we had our rig dialed in, but found most of our cabinet contents on the floor once we got to the site.

This location has outstanding views! The campsite, Puri, is nice and private, currently at the end of the established camps so we had lots of space and took an amazing hike up the hill from the campsite for even more amazing views of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding hills. Karina and Chris provided so many thoughtful perks: trashcan, fresh water, level campsite, picnic table, fire ring, firewood all at the site. Composting toilets in just the right spot, my personal favorite. Karina was amazing with communication. I felt very safe. Additionally in the morning a took a great walk up the main road that the ranch is on and that again provided stunning views.

Beautiful spacious farm with clean bathroom and shower near camping area. Christy was very kind, responsive and welcoming. She left little food gifts on arrival and in the morning. Sweet horses on the property. So so quiet with amazing night sky clarity. I would definitely stay again!

This was my third time staying here, and it keeps delivering every time. Came with a group of 6 friends on our way up from LA to Big Sur, and it’s such a solid, convenient stop—especially near Morro Bay.
The property is spacious and private, so it feels like you have your own area without dealing with neighbors. It’s gated, clean, and super easy to settle into.
Perfect for car camping—plenty of room to park, spread out, and hang. Also dog-friendly, which makes it even better. Whether you’re in a tent, RV, or just pulling up with your car, it works.
I keep coming back for a reason. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time camping at Hazel Homestead and wish we could have stayed longer. Ann, the host was such a joy and made our experience there even more special. It felt like we were camping at a friend’s home that had a variety of adorable farm animals that I got to feed. The location was perfect and the property was terrific for camping. We highly recommend Hazel Homestead for a camping getaway, you won’t be disappointed. We have already shared our experience with all of our friends and family who camp. We lived camping here at Freedog Farms!! Not only were Sierra and Darin super welcoming. It they put a lot of effort in to make it a fun experience as well. Definitely get there early to get the full tour, it’s well worth it! You can tell how much work they have put into the entire property. We stayed at the Pack’s Peak site and the views were supreme!!

We booked several hours before our actual stay and Karina was very responsive to our request. The directions were clear and well communicated. Karina checked on us throughout our stay. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed a quiet arrival and morning sitting in the sun overlooking the views of the Pacific and SLO. We would highly recommend staying at Karina and Chris’s. We had a lovely time camping on Karina & Chris’s property. The sight was well maintained, private, and the views were spectacular. We really enjoyed a hike right from our campsite along the ridge. We will definitely come back to camp here again. 1 small negative, but certainly not a deal breaker, there was a dog barking a lot while we were there. Not sure if he’s the owners or a neighbors, but it got a bit annoying. Other than that, a fantastic place to camp.
