This campsite is a natural setting in the corner of our lower pasture. It features several oaks and lots of room. It is an extremely private spot free from other campers or busy traffic. This site now includes a picnic table on a leveled area, a firepit and a toilet . Water is available if you wish to hike a bit up a hill. You can enjoy our beautiful evening skies, sunrises and starlit nights. If you are looking for a peaceful, poison oak free, quiet hideaway, this is your place. Trails are available for walks and taking in the views of the valley below. Since this site is tucked away in our pasture we recommend that campers arrive before dark. We are located near Lake San Antonio, Lake Nacimiento, San Antonio Mission, San Miguel Mission, Fort Hunter Liggett, and the Nacitone Museum. There is local wine tasting and we are 45 minutes away from wine tasting in Paso Robles. Many campers find this to be an ideal meeting place for family and friends coming from the north and south.

Hideaway Oaks
Niel and Karen were amazing hosts! They came out to our site when we arrived to introduce themselves and make sure we were settled. Their land is serene and full of wildlife! We saw many jackrabbits, deer, hawks, and even a friendly tarantula! The night sky was full of stars and beautiful. I would HIGHLY recommend this hipcamp site to those who want to get away, enjoy some wildlife and see all the stars!

Neil and Karen are so accommodating there place is clean flat and quiet so perfect for a peaceful stary night stay… love there place and will be back again

South 40 Flats--Site 2
We found this spot after a fire broke out in Pinnacles and we had to scramble for a nearby site. Karen welcomed my friends and my kids and I with ice cream!! I also asked to move to site 1 since site 2 was quite exposed to sun, she did just that and helped facilitate it. Had potable water spigots, the cleanest porta potties, and lots of stars to gaze at. Would definitely recommend.

This is a very pretty property, with lots of wild life and birds. (Owls, quails) The owner is a really cool, warm man. The view is spectacular. You’re really out there on this property.
