The spot was perfect. Quiet and secluded. Tammy only has space for 5 or so spots at this site so we didn't feel like there were other campers right on top of us! so peaceful

Tammy was so resourceful with guidance on many layers; things to do, very specific directs, and most important, a phone call away!!! It was my first time dessert camping and Tammy's space was safe and very artful with what I feel is Tammy's inner expression. Thanks and will be back!

Wow if you love the desert and complete privacy this is the quintessential Hipcamp. We had a sweet little campfire under a 96% full moon. We put our Sportsmobile into 4 wheel action and Ben provided excellent guidance into his site. Mountains all around and the site is surrounded by trails in every direction.

Tammy and Miss Piggy were super friendly. Tammy's response time was quick and communication was clear. Miss Piggy was adorable and did not mind my rowdy dogs. I was mostly climbing in the park so I was only at the campground at night. I love the tranquility of the campground, and the ability to gaze the stars at night. Albeit camping alone, I felt very safe staying at Simply Duke :)

We loved the serenity at Tammy's camp. We arrived after it had gotten dark and Tammy was very prompt and helpful, via messaging, in getting us to the right location within the campground. It's a long trek out there by sandy dirt roads but it was well worth the effort to get away from the crowds of Joshua Tree NP. We're not real big desert fans but to be out on that open land, feeling one with nature, witnessing the most gorgeous pink sunsets lighting up the distant mountains, we came away with a new appreciation for the desert world.

This place is absolutely incredible. The views were stunning and it was fantastic letting the dogs off leash to romp around. Todd was nice enough to share hiking, winery and food recommendations in the area that led us to a breathtaking hike to Eagle Rock via the PCT and a delicious winery (Sierra Roble) right next door. Also Garage 79 is a great spot to grab a beer and some tacos. This trip was the exact reset we needed. Rate to find a place with full hookups and complete privacy. We will 100% be returning.

I love to tent in Tammy’s land. You get clean bathroom with water. You get a picnic table and fire pit. Of course, amazing views and starry sky at night!! I’d love to come back next time. And Tammy is super nice host, she welcomed us and showed us around!! ( I just don’t like the unpaved road driving, just me)

We were there in Oct and at dusk a lot of flies appeared, but after 40 min they kind of all died of somehow.

The Shabby Shanty is the perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing camping weekend. It's just about 20 minutes drive into Joshua tree with views for miles. There's potable water, an area for cooking, outdoor toilet and tiny shower. It's just perfect for the simple camper!
