Beautiful land, beautiful people. I even found seashells chillen next to creosote plants. Very clean bathrooms and site! It was super windy my tent almost flew away but the stars were beautiful and so was Joshua Tree national park!! A must see!! I’ll be coming back forsure

The site was in a great location to Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms so we were able to easily access anything we needed; however, the toilets were very full and looked like they had not been cleaned out/emptied in quite some time. We waited to use the washrooms in the national park each day.

Nice campsites, good amenities. Great sky to watch sunset and sunrise. Convenient to our hike at Indian Cove. Farm nearby, chickens, geese, cows, and the dogs who guard them. We didn’t take a tour but you can hear normal farm noises from time to time. Overall, we’d come back to this spot if we return to the area.

Paul has got to have some of the cleanest campgrounds I have ever seen. He also has the cleanest portapotty I have ever seen. We really enjoyed our time out in the desert and glad we made the decision to book this spot. We stayed with another family and all of agreed that we would stay again.

We had an awesome time camping at Paul’s retreat! The sites were great, with the cleanest toilets we’ve had at a campsite. If you’re looking for a great spot near Joshua Tree this is the place. We will definitely be coming back for future trips!

Paul’s place was a perfect peace spot for the night while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Once we arrived he came over to give us a quick rundown of everything and was very responsive to my questions before booking too. I would definitely recommend.

First of all Paul is awesome, very friendly and helpful. The tent sites are spacious which include a picnic table and burn barrel. Also a good distance from the other sites. The campground is laid out nicely and pet friendly. Clean latrines is also a plus .Will definitely stay again.

Great for star gazing!

Nice spot and easy to locate. Close enough to restaurants and stores in case you need buy anything you forgot. Site was clean, including fire pit, BBQ, table and porta-potty. The site had a great amount of space. The fire pits were big and clean. The grounds were also clean porta potties were freshly cleaned. Host was kind and available. The only downfall was the traffic noise from the street. But overall a great spot to camp!

A fantastic experience

We had such a fantastic experience tent camping on Paul’s land! He was a wonderful host, quick to respond to messages. He lives across the land (does NOT feel like anyone is nearby), and it was nice to know he was there and see him drive through to check on things. There is well water available, two of the cleanest porta potties I’ve ever encountered, a fire ring and large picnic table at each site. There were campers at each of the other sites but we hardly noticed, the grounds are very well situated. It was very easy to get to Joshua Tree, the park’s entrance was only about 10 mins away. Also an easy 10 min drive to grocery, restaurants, gas. The Twentynine Palms Marines base is nearby and it’s lights were visible in the distance but it was no bother… you could hear the 8am music in the far distance but that was all. Paul has farm animals on his land which you could hear - donkeys, chickens, it was pretty cool. And we definitely heard nearby coyotes howling, it’s the desert! But with such clean, quiet, well thought out grounds; such an attentive host; and such an ideal location, we’ll definitely camp at Mesquite Moon again.

I enjoyed camping on Paul's land. The tent areas were nice and flat and spacious. A nice firepit and picnic table were also at each site. Porta potty is also close to the camp site and very clean. I had a great view of the setting sun and also of it rising. I liked that it is in close proximity to Joshua Tree park Entrance. I would definitely stay again.
