Okihi is approximately 15 minutes east of Downtown Bakersfield. 20 minutes away from the 99 hwy or 178 hwy. Whichever way you are traveling, we are a great stopover point.
Sites are spread around on the east side of the property facing the river for beautiful river views while you sip coffee from your site. There are a multitude of recreation opportunities to enjoy.
On site is a work in progress and you will see project sites not fully completed. We have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience.
Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you.

Ancestral land of the Foothill Yokuts tribe. Homesteaded in 1859, owned by the Negus family from 1909-2000. Barbara and I bought it to save it from subdivision and it's now protected by a Conservation Easement and acts as a community center for the arts, music, poetry, gatherings and outdoor education. We're both biologists, so, just ask us.

Was a bit worried about the toilet situation from other reviews but there were two toilets and not many people there. Didn’t meet Nacho but he was very responsive via message. The place is really nice there are places for fire and area to enjoy your food or activities on the lake, like singing or fishing. You swim on your own responsibilities. They have the plastic small boats 🛶.
There is a small bridge to walk on from side to side. Fine restroom is available too.
The sky at night is amazing while you’re setting next to the fire.

Gate 1 is the perfect spot with shade and a creek close by. You can hear the water all night long! Plus all the trees provide perfect shade to hide from the sun! I recommend bringing a hammock.
Hosts are great and easy to communicate with.
This was my second stay here and I fell even more in love with this Farm!

We had the BEST time ever staying at Spirit Walk. It was so peaceful, so beautiful, fun, and relaxing. John has very thoughtfully designed the grounds in collaboration with the land, and it is truly a very very special place. We stayed at the Creekside site with our REI Basecamp 6 tent, and there was space for a little "porch" set-up with our two chairs. Going to sleep with the sounds of the frogs under an INCREDIBLE starry sky was magical and unforgettable.
One of the bear boxes fit our 38 quart cooler with a smaller cooler next to it. There's a great convenience store (Verdugo) not far with plenty of ice.

John is an awesome host with a desire to share his amazing off grid beautiful property with Hipcampers! We stayed in the studio which was spotlessly clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable, had a propane fireplace , a cooling humidifier and tv if needed and everything one might need in the kitchen. We had a wonderful quiet, peaceful and enjoyable overnight getaway!

We had a great time at Bare All Retreat! The owners were awesome! They met us at the gate when we arrived, showed us the best place to camp, and spoke to us about the animals. During our stay we got to see and interact with various animals throughout the night including goats, cows, dogs, horses, and frogs. The site was very clean and was placed next to the steam with a well made firepit. I am 100% looking forward to staying here again later this year!

We loved this place. My 4 year old had a blast wondering around the camp. The river with a private beach is amazing.
The cabin was super nice, very quiet, very secluded.
The full kitchen and refrigerator was also a nice touch.

Cabin was great, right next to several other cabins and the toilet, not too far from the communal kitchen. Beds were comfy and clean. We were a little spooked by the baby rattlesnakes that are prevalent this time of year, but it's high enough to be slightly cooler than the rest of the valley and see the stars.

Had the most amazing time at Spirit Walk! It was beautiful, serene, close to so many great trails and swimming areas. The site itself was so well maintained - it felt like they’d thought of everything. The kitchen was totally tricked out, we wanted for nothing! Finding it was super straightforward. And the site itself was super fun to explore and walk around. John was so kind, communicative and helpful whenever we spoke with him. Definitely planning to come back!
