The property is a transitional area where agave, juniper and scrub oak thrive. Wildlife in the area includes: Quail, Rattle Snakes, Lizards, Ravens, Roadrunners, Tarantulas, Rosy Boa, Mule Deer, Pack Rats, Bob Cats, Coyotes and at times Bighorn Sheep are spotted by Table Mountain. I have 10 chickens, 2 cats and my dog Bosco.

Built in the 50’s it is sitting on 2 parcels and is over ½ acre in size. We also have 2 other cabins for rent in Julian for larger groups. The outhouse that you see was used when it was first built and now is for storage. The original owner built the house himself and it was originally on piers alone with no other foundation! There is a folder in the bedroom closet of the house over the years. The decorations were here when we bought it so we kept them to preserve the house’s uniqueness. We treasure this house which is nestled amongst the trees and has so many beautiful birds that visit. Many turkeys love to stop by too! If you hear the deep cooing from the monster doves (who are very shy) you can try to spot one. They are amazing. We really hope you love it as much as we do.

Weekend Trip to Glamping in San Diego’s Backcountry

We wanted to take our grand babies who are 2 and 9 months on a trial run to see how they liked it and this was the most amazing place to do that trial run. There was a total of 5 adults and 2 little ones and we had so much room to spread out and get comfy. The bathrooms were a little far of a walk for a toddler who potty trained recently but other than that the site had everything we needed and then some. Anything we weren’t sure of and Shantel was right on it helping us out. The first night we caught 46+mile an hour winds dropping the temps into the 30’s but we turned the propane heaters on and hunkered down in the yurts and were just fine. The tree hammocks were a hit for naps and playing with babies. Lots of chairs around the fire and kitchen supplies. We plan to make this a yearly tradition with our family. So pack your clothes and food and head up! Unplug from life and make some memories.

Weekend Trip to Manzanita Ridge

Absolutely loved the stay at Manzanita Ridge, came up with a couple of friends to rest and relax and we had plenty. Although we visited at the peak of summer heat it was still very relaxing. The trailer had wonderful air conditioning and everything we needed was available. John was very sweet and provided careful instructions and we really enjoyed the quiet star gazing on the deck with a nice fire as well. Dont have any complaints whatsoever. If I needed to state some improvements it would only be about the wooden bench to be fixed so that one can enjoy a nice cup of coffee and also a little more comfortable outdoor seating. But otherwise perfectly quiet and relaxing. We will definately be coming back.

1 night at Manzanita Ridge

It was great. Owner is very responsive. The trailer has everything you need. AC, oven, stove, microwave. A TV with Netflix, prime, and whatever other app you can think off. You only need food and a change of clothes when you go there. I already gave the link to two other people. The only thing we could hear in the morning was the roosters from the houses around. I would definitely go again.

Weekend Trip to Old well ranch

We loved our stay here!! The property is great and perfect for a quiet night away. Tim was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out with everything we needed! It was such a nice bonus to be able to cook on the an actual stove and have access to a bathroom. Plus the views and the stars were beautiful!! We really enjoyed talking with Tim and so appreciated his clear dedication to making sure we had a great time. Can’t wait to stay again!

Weekend Trip to Glamping in San Diego’s Backcountry

Great spot and it was very nice having so many things already set up for you, Shantel checked in on us thru text and we just had to bring our clothes, food, firewood/ice. Some tips for future peeps, showers are near the front of the campground and you need at least 4-7 quarters each time, bring a headlamp the restroom takes a few minutes to walk to, grab some apple from Julian about ~30 min away, but pack up your food so the squirrels don’t get to it while you’re gone. Happy camping! :3

We had such a great experience at this campsite! 🏕️ It truly has everything you need — it's clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully set up to make your stay super comfortable. We especially appreciated the little details like the hammocks 🌿🛌 — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The private hiking trail on the property was absolutely beautiful 🥾🌄 — it felt like our own little adventure without having to leave the site. We also loved how easy it was to access the bathrooms and hot showers 🚿🚻. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, which made a big difference. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy spot with great amenities and natural beauty ✨🌲, this is the place. We would definitely come back! 🙌💚

Weekend Trip to JP Longstock Ranch

We loved staying with Jodi on her ranch, which is located in a great, quiet area with beautiful views. The ranch is to get to, and Jodi is amazing, a great communicator and a host! She went above and beyond for us, took the time to take us out for food, show us all the best local spots, and ensured we had everything we needed. There are horses, dogs, a goat, and more… all extremely well behaved and friendly. Jodi even gave us a riding lesson and let us help her with the horses. It was a truly healing stay. We will be back. Weekend Trip to Manzanita Ridge

Manzanita Ridge is a nice place to stay. The rv had great creature comforts like a bathroom. It is a 30-45 minute drive from Julian and Lake Cuyamaca. The host was very good at .aking the stay comfortable. My wife and son had a great time and we made some nice memories. First, Id like to share some things that might be helpful for your stay. The rv does come with an FAQ and I think it answers most questions. Doing things again, I would make sure to understand how much water is available and when to request the system be emptied for multiple night stays. As someone who is not familiar, id ask what tank color is what. If you are staying more than a night, I'd recommend asking the host how to know when to ask for the bathroom tank to be emptied, as one of the days we returned, the toilet was clogged. The host was on top of things and I never had an issue where they didn't right it quickly. Another tip, is if the stove isn't lighting after following the steps in the folder FAQ in the rv, the propane tank outside is probably closed. The one challenge my wife wasn't thrilled with was the pictures online don't really display how close you are to neighbors. The location is close to neighbors and you can even see into a neighbor's house if you move far away enough from the rv. The whole family loved the stargazing at night. The entire camp site setup and the facilities were great. The site was beautifully set up—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The tent was cozy and well-equipped, with a comfy bed, warm blankets, and even string lights that made the nights feel magical. We had a private fire pit, a sitting area for stargazing, and enough privacy to feel like we had the forest to ourselves.

1 night at Clara Vista High Desert Retreat

Incredible one-night stay there. If anything, the views from the cabin are underrated. Overlooks so much gorgeousness AND got to wake up basically inside a cloud. While it was near freezing outside, stayed plenty toasty inside. Oh, and did do the 20- to 25- minute drive to Borrego Springs for dinner and had several nice options there. Otherwise, prepared simple meals using the the propane stove and kettle. Highly recommend for a single/couple looking for a simple get-away.
