Learn more about this land: River status: Swimmable but stopped flowing as of 6/28 Camp on our small piece of paradise located near Yosemite. We are a family of 5 (me, my husband, our two toddlers and our dog, River) living on 5 acres of mountain land in the foothills of the Sierras complete with an outdoor shower and bath and also flowing (seasonal) stream that you can swim in. Feel free to wander around the property on a few of our trails or just chill by the water and enjoy the magic of the mountains. Our property is about a 45 min drive to the Yosemite entrance. Dogs are more than welcome as long as they are ok with our dog wandering around. He’s super sweet loves everybody.

You can enjoy the feeling of rural seclusion while within walking distance (~1 mile) from shops and restaurants in Oakhurst. The South Gate to Yosemite National Park is less than a 30-minute drive (~75 minutes drive-time to the Valley floor), and Bass Lake's shores are only 15 minutes away. Local wildlife is abundant. Wild turkeys are a common sighting, especially in the spring and fall, as are squirrels, bears, deer, coyotes, and bobcats, plus all kinds of native birds (hawks, quail, jays, woodpeckers, ravens, vultures, and eagles). We have a small homestead-style farm and so do the neighbors, so you can hear the distant sounds of chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, and cows. Because the safety of our animals (and yours) is paramount, we do not allow pets off-leash. The parking location is an ease pull-through for passenger vehicles and shorter trailers. People with longer, taller trailers find it easier to pull-in and back out. The best view is on the passenger side of the drive! Whether you want to stay put and enjoy the natural setting or have a base from which to explore world-class attractions, we would love to host your next vacation.

This is one of 3 gold claims I have here in the Yosemite area. This particular site is in one of the nicer areas of the national forest as it is in an area that has not been hit by wildfire recently. There are two camping sites on this claim one is a roundabout with a giant redwood in the center of the circle the other is right off the side of the road with easy access no matter what kind of rig you are driving. As a registered mining claim owner I or anyone with my permission can camp and prospect on the claim for up to 14 days consecutively… I will not be around the area as I live in San Diego and come up about once a month to one of them.. I ask that you leave the property as nice as you found it remember this is a national park and everyone wants to enjoy the beauty of nature.

If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. John and Molly the dog were very friendly upon arriving and continued to check-up on everyone all throughout the weekend. Restrooms were clean and the showers were hot. The drive to Yosemite and Curry Village is roughly 60miles, taking a little over an hour, and the Groveland town near the campground was nice. Overall great experience and would definitely stay here again.

This site is located off Ferrini Rd a few miles east of Groveland. You look for little stake signs to find your specific camp site. Cooper's Hawk was one of the ones closest to the showers and bathrooms and it was private and shady. A family of wild turkeys visit. While this is not at the pine tree line, mostly oak trees, it is still full of nature. We took a little walk down to the meadow below. The outdoor showers work really well with plenty of hot water and it was a nice nature touch. We loved the barn sitting room full of what seemed abandoned nice furniture...it was quiet and took us back in time. Wifi signal was adequate at our site in Cooper's Hawk. We liked going in to Groveland for the shops and restaurants. We visited the museum there which was really interesting. We also drove out to Rainbow Pool, 10 min away. There are lots of available hikes, connections to the river...we did not go into Yosemite Valley, but this is a nice jump off spot to do it.

I enjoyed my stay at Diamond Gulch. Easy to follow directions provided. Was responsive to my questions upon arrival. Campsite was clean - picnic table provided, water spigot and trash can on site. Not too far from porta-potty. Lovely view from campsite. Did not take time to visit Groveland but was a cute town with shops and restaurants. Travel into Yosemite was easy with not much wait for entry. This time of year needed an entry pass to enter from 6am-2pm

Fantastic camp spot for anyone going into Yosemite, Hetch Hetchy, or hikes in Stanislaus National Forest. John was friendly and really pleasant to chat with, and cares about his campers! Lots of campsites to choose from when we arrived on a Wednesday; the spot we picked nearest to the outdoor shower was best, since it was far enough from the entrance gate that we didn't hear other campers' vehicles drive in & out of the camping area. Stayed until Sunday and it sure got busier as the weekend hit! Shower is a huge plus!! Amazing to have warm water to wash off a sweaty day of hiking. Having the clean, potable water spouts for filling our water bottles and cooking was a huge perk, too. Campsite is an easy 35-min drive to Yosemite entrance (Big Oak Flat), then approx. 40 minutes into the center of Yosemite Village for the parking, trailheads, and shops. We left our site most days around 5am in order to enter Yosemite before 6:00 when they require reservations during the Summer. Groveland is a nice small town up the street; the Iron Door Saloon had great dinner and music, and the nearby market has all necessities you may need. Hungry Bear cafe had great wifi that my friend was able to do schoolwork on her laptop one of the days. Will TOTALLY be back to stay here for future Yosemite trips! Thank you John.

First, we wanted to say Thank You to Adam. This was our first time staying here and we enjoyed it. We had questions and requests prior to arriving and he responded very promptly, accommodating our needs. The location is a little up the road but it’s worth it. It’s very quiet and spacious. Adam reminded us about the 50amp only, so we could come prepared. We could definitely stay here again.

The Tuolumne River begins at 13,000 feet of elevation in the High Country of Tuolumne Meadows and provides drinking water for over 2.7 million people in San Francisco. With cedar and pine trees, manzanita bushes, and wildflowers in the spring, enjoy the Sierras' flora and fauna. Our family has been operating our river rafting company for over 50 years, the last 11 of those years being here at Colfax Spring. Conveniently located off Highway 120, we are in close proximity to swimming holes, hikes, and more. There are two camping sites on this claim one is a roundabout with a giant redwood in the center of the circle the other is right off the side of the road with easy access no matter what kind of rig you are driving. As a registered mining claim owner I or anyone with my permission can camp and prospect on the claim for up to 14 days consecutively… I will not be around the area as I live in San Diego and come up about once a month to one of them.. I ask that you leave the property as nice as you found it remember this is a national park and everyone wants to enjoy the beauty of nature.

We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite. There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful! This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite. A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring.
