3 nights at Kingsfoil Hollow

Lovely, quiet spot up in a canyon. Christine was very accommodating and directions to the site were clear. Wifi was strong, and bonus points for the 2 sweet, friendly kitties that frequented the site! They plan to separate the composting toilets, which I think will improve privacy. Site 1 is a little flatter and prettier, Site 2 is bigger with more morning shade. Both offer enough room to spread out, but not a lot of privacy between. A lot of animals frequent the wash behind the site, particularly at night. Saw coyotes and deer, the coyotes kept their distance. Sprinkler noise at night and nearby roosters at dawn took some getting used to, but were fine after the first night. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive.

If you're looking for the perfect escape from the city, I can't recommend Gemini Moon Ranch enough. This place is an absolute hidden gem! Originally built by the architect behind Old Town Temecula, it now thrives under the care of Tracy and Peter, the kindest, most welcoming hosts you’ll ever meet. You can bring your own tent or stay in one of their two incredibly unique, cozy rooms (each full of charm and character). From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping onto the set of an old western movie, complete with starry skies, peaceful mornings, and the sweetest animal crew (2 friendly dogs and 5 cats who might gently demand snacks 🐾). Whether you're into yoga, meditation, or just sitting still with a coffee in nature, this place delivers. It’s ideal for solo getaways, couple retreats, birthdays, or even a small wedding. Honestly, it’s a magical spot that leaves you feeling recharged and totally at peace."

2 nights at Rustic Wooded Ranch -Creekside Stay

Tent camping at Gemeni Moon Ranch was such a cool and unique experience. The 5 acre grounds is surrounded by beautiful trees and rustic architecture. Once you get to the grounds, It feels like you've been transported back in time to an old western movie. Tracy and her partner were amazing hosts and greeted us upon arrival with a tour of the entire property. Pets are welcome which was great because we got to bring our dog along for the adventure. There is an outdoor kitchen and bathrooms on site, as well as tables for eating and a cozy bonfire area. There is also a creek that runs through their property and you can hear the frogs singing at night which was awesome! I would highly recommend camping on their property. It was such a great way to spend a few days out of the city.

1 night at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

Benjamin's property is a gem. I could have started for several days and not tired of the views. I arrived in the area close to o check in time, so I drove straight to the farm. I'd planned to head back out to explore and maybe eat dinner in town. I was glad that I had plenty of food and water with me, because I was happy to stay put once I picked out my camp spot. The road to the retreat is not at all difficult, even in my mid roof van. Still, I was happy to stay put for the afternoon and drive down the mountain in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Bowen Ranch Deep Creek Hot Springs

We went in mid June and it was gorgeous! Still got pretty cold at night as you are practically in the desert so bring a good quilt or blankets. The hike to the hot springs is amazing with some cool views. I would say its a pretty easy hike for experienced hikers but medium to hard for beginners. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and extra bags - I saw trash along the hike and down at the hot springs which is so sad to see and ruins it for others - Overall, it was a beautiful spot and much cleaner than other hot springs I've been to. Leave it better!! Leave No Trace!!

Amazing property. Love the privacy and open space to roam. Great views at the ridge. More than enough room for our party of 20+. Host was super responsive and helped in any way he can. I would definitely recommend this site.

The road leading up to this campground was absolutely stunning and beautiful. When we arrived, we were greeted by several goats and alpacas, which made us feel like we had stepped into a whole new world. We also got to meet the owner, who was incredibly kind. We bought some firewood from them and had a lovely chat, which made our stay even more comfortable. The showers had nice hot water, which was perfect for bathing our baby. And the gorgeous oak tree, along with the beautiful sunlight and scenery, created such a meaningful memory for us. I’m a bit worried that once more people find out about this place, it might become harder to book in the future, but I still want to leave a great review out of gratitude. This was my very first Hipcamp review, so thank you!

My family and I really enjoyed this location. To be honest, this was our first time camping and feel this was a beginner friendly location. We needed to go to the shop to purchase a few items. The staff was great. We appreciate that there was firewood and small propane tanks for our Coleman kitchen. We enjoyed the views and the goats we would definitely come again.

Loved this site! The magic of it was how private and secluded it felt. The amenities such as tent rentals and table rentals definitely made our lives easier since we didn’t have to haul as many items into the site ourselves. Walid was also very communicative and accommodating.

The site was one of the coolest sites I’ve camped at in a long time. Lots of privacy and space between campers. We got all sorts of visitors from horses to pigs. Clean bathrooms and showers. The host were super friendly. I will definitely come back. The only drawback was the drive up was a little confusing. But the directions the host gave on point.

We loved our site. Perfectly quiet and the other guests were super friendly. I would totally stay there again. Very conveniently located by the wineries and away from traffic. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

But what to do with the separate lower area, bordered by a seasonal stream lined by cottonwoods and big leaf maples? Cottonwood Creek Camp was the answer. Located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, you'll be minutes away from 50 wineries. Situated down a quiet rural lane, and secluded by lush California pepper trees, your glamping spot is an ideal getaway for wine lovers who prefer to get away from the city hustle. The camp area has seven spots that can be occupied by other glampers, and has a common use firepit with Adirondack chairs for those who want to compare notes about their wine tasting adventures. Plenty of onsite parking. In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50 nearby wineries. In the evening, nosh at one of the great restaurants in Old Town Temecula, and then return to camp for sunset views and fireside relaxation. You should know that there are two free-roaming Blue Heelers who live on the 5-acre property and make regular visits to the camp area. Visiting dogs that socialize well with other dogs are welcome by us and by Molly and Taz as well, but please be honest with yourself and us about your dog's temperament, and book elsewhere if there is ANY chance of canine conflict with our very energetic pups. Also, Molly does not trust very small children (we think there was an incident), so if you have small children, we ask that you keep them from interacting with our Heelers.

Desert Dreamland

Our family has owned this property for nearly fifty years. We currently have one site available - “Desert Mountain Scenic Overlook” - at this time. More sites coming soon! Learn more about this site: This campsite is extremely private and serene with beautiful epic views and a wide open feel. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.
