Camp Nauvoo was originally bought by the LDS church in the 1960's for a girl's camp. The camp was owned by the Boy Scouts from 2011-2015. The Rose family bought the property in 2016 with the intent to continue the tradition of tent camping as well as creating opportunities for exclusive events i.e., group/family reunions, weddings and corporate events. We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM (please review). We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash. CHECKIN IS BETWEEN 4 AND 8. We are one of the oldest, and largest commercial wineries in Placer County. During the Pandemic our family built bridges that access an island that was hidden with berry bushes for over 40 years. It's amazing what a couple of chainsaws and a Kubuta tractor can accomplish in a couple months. We have a flushable toilet and sink available with a shade structure and some pic-nic tables under gazebos. There is enough seating to sit almost 200 people on our island. Equipped with a concrete stage and dance floor, wine bar with Hard Cider on tap (seasonal.) We have 3 bridges that connect the island for a small loop. It's about 2 football fields long. There is a community fire pit in the middle of the island (sorry no fire pits allowed in the parking lot or any other area.) BBQ's are welcome! Also corn hole is provided when the weather is nice. There are cows that roam about half of our property, along with wild turkeys, coyotes, rabbits and other wild animals that live among us. The camping spots are in our gravel parking lot that easily accesses the island. You're more than welcome to book your stay for that time as well.

10 out of 10 experience. First of all Matt the camp host was able to answer any question promptly before the trip. On arrival the camp was clean and propane fire pit was at ready to use. The site had plenty of room and lots of distance between sites. The beach was an easy walk and great for the kids. When the water goes up it does get small, but in the morning and evening there was plenty of room. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was clutch. Can’t wait to stay here again. Thanks again Matt!

The electric and water hook-ups were simple and easy, directions given were easy to follow and accurate and communication with her was great. She even provided recommendations for a place for dinner out. Very nice stay.

We had a great time staying at campsite 1. Huge site (fit truck, tesr drop trailer, friend's car and tent no problem). The site had ample shade, it was very close to bathroom and showers, and a close 5 minute walk to the river's beach. Matt provides a propane tank, fire pit, and trash bin. We'll definitely be back.

Manzanita was a welcome serene, private, quiet, and clean campground with simple but clean and spacious shower rooms and toilet/sink rooms. A great spot convenient for running S Fork American with river access just above Greenwood. Perfect for a campervan! Matt was very responsive, friendly, and provided detailed information for us prior to arival. We will be back!

Our campsite met our expectation and was exactly as listed on Hipcamp. Site 3 offers plenty of space between our group of 9 people with several trees to choose for shade. I think our site’s amenities was the best because we were between the community BBQ area and the restrooms with plenty of space between the other campsites. Our spot came with a picnic bench and a set-up for a gas fire. Matt provided the propane. The bathrooms were clean and showers had hot water. To access the river, it’s a short 5 minute walk down to the beach where you can find multiple areas to setup your spot with or without a canopy, depending on your river access. The river is known for its whitewater so you’ll see plenty of rafts and kayakers during the day. The river current has some strength so I recommend bringing a rope to tie up your floaties when in the water. I would recommend Manzanita to anyone interested!

I had two wonderful nights here. I was the only camper and had the whole place to myself! I got a fantastic tour of the island, the wine club, the three bridges, the wine cave, workshops and more! So much more than just wine to see here! Vintage motorcycles and antique motorized bicycles! The parking area was large and flat and gravel right next to grazing cattle, lots of places to sit and walk and watch the flowing streams. And there’s a brand new luxurious bathroom on a trailer that’s bigger than my bathroom at home! Very nice! Ryan was always very responsive and helpful. And I heard all sorts of wonderful stories from Jimbob. I had a great stay and look forward to returning. I recommend this place to those staying in the Auburn area. It’s situated close to all sorts of beautiful places! Quiet, serene, lovely!

This was a great campsite. Good space for one camper van and one tent car camping family. The beach is really the highlight. Don’t come here expecting to have a quiet river to yourself - the whole camp site will likely be down on the river with you, but it was a super fun location for me and our friends and their two year old. Family friendly, well maintained. Definitely would recommend this site for car campers looking for some river time.

We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Camp Nauvoo was originally bought by the LDS church in the 1960's for a girl's camp. The camp was owned by the Boy Scouts from 2011-2015. The Rose family bought the property in 2016 with the intent to continue the tradition of tent camping as well as creating opportunities for exclusive events i.e., group/family reunions, weddings and corporate events. We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM (please review). We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash. CHECKIN IS BETWEEN 4 AND 8. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE BAY ALLOW 4 HOURS - YOU MUST LEAVE BY 3:00 IN ORDER TO ARRIVE DURING CHECKIN. IF YOU GET DELAYED, FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE OTHER CAMPERS YOU MAY CONSIDER WAITING AND ARRIVING THE NEXT MORNING. THERE ARE NO CHECKINS AFTER 9:00.
