An energy efficient Uniquely designed home that is off the grid and has a very green footprint with solar and windmill to charge batteries. Oak and pine tree covered acres with fitness and nature trails around the property. Each level campsite with picnic table is designed for privacy with plenty of distance between sites and mountain views in every direction, along with an optional gas log fire pit and BBQ.
There is plenty of clean, non potable drinking water, custom built toilets and optional hot showers, limited electrical use, cell phone charging and low power use devices as I am off grid. There is a fitness and nature trail on the property and Pacific Crest trail is approx 20 to 30 min drive, Mountain park which has many miles of hiking trails and an Indian reservation with hikes to many petroglphs. Things to see are the World famous Tehachapi railway loop, historic downtown, vineyards, mountain spirit center a Buddhist temple, glider rides, bicycle riding and fishing.
There is cell service around the property but intermittent at the campsites.

Enjoy a rustic, no-fuss stay on our 20-acre working farm just 15 miles south of Bakersfield, with easy freeway access. Campsites sit along the pond - perfect for catch-and-release fishing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. We have a small area with farm animals (pigs, goats, sheep, peacocks and chickens) for you to enjoy. Expect a desert climate: hot summers, cold winters.
Each site includes a small table, potable water spigot, picnic table, and fire pit (bring your own wood). All sites are BYO tent or car-camping with the exception of our one Glamping Site which includes a queen bed. Some have vehicle height limits (noted in site names), and cannot accommodate pop-ups or truck campers.
Amenities include one shared indoor toilet and an outdoor hot/cold shower. There are 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards that are free to use amongst all guests. We offer self check-in and you're welcome to arrive anytime after 1PM; checkout is 11AM. Please respect quiet hours after 10PM if arriving late.
CAMP RULES
No Pets – Our dogs roam freely and protect the farm and see other animals as threats. You will be asked to leave with no refund if you bring a pet.
Quiet Hours: 10 PM–7 AM. If we receive complaints about noise, you’ll be asked to leave immediately.
1 Tent + 1 Car are permitted per Site, with the exception of Site 4 which allows 2 tents/2 cars. If you are a large group with multiple tents and families, you will need to book multiple sites. Each site has a maximum capacity, so if you put in 12 people, it will not show you all the sites available - put in 4 people and then you can pick which combination of sites you would like for your group.
No tents or canopies on the grass/lawn area.
No fireworks or open flames outside of designated fire pits. Propane burners or grills are permitted.
Do not feed the farm dogs - no treats or food, ever.
At checkout: dispose of trash in the dumpster by Site 5, soak any hot coals, wipe down tables, and put back the kayaks and paddleboards.
Shower use: Only farm-provided shampoo and soap are allowed.
Do not move firepits.

This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The bigger building is an Airbnb for groups. They will also have access to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

Sites are spread around on the east side of the property facing the river for beautiful river views while you sip coffee from your site. There are a multitude of recreation opportunities to enjoy.
On site is a work in progress and you will see project sites not fully completed. We have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience.
Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

I stayed at the cabin on John's property. The land is gorgeous with great views. The cabin is amazing. It's really well-built, clean, organized. John really cares about his place. The bed is a pull out bed, pretty comfortable but definitely bring another pad if you like a more cushioned surface. There is a heater that does a great job keeping the place warm. A fair sized fridge with freezer, as well as a larger freezer in the camp kitchen area. The BBQ was super clean and works well. Ditto with the restroom. I didn't try the showers but they looked awesome. There is plenty of seating inside and out. The views are gorgeous. You'll see the sunset, stars, and sunrise from your bed. The description on here is exactly how it is. Just beware of GPS sending you the wrong way!!

I can’t say enough good things about Hatch Ranch Loft! Ashley is such an amazing host and you can tell she puts so much pride and care into this space. The loft itself is beautifully decorated, spacious, and spread across three floors with views for days.
Ashley went above and beyond with thoughtful touches like coffee, biscotti, art supplies, and games. It’s also has a fridge, hot plate for basic cooking, and cooking utensils. Outside, the grounds are well-maintained with trails that my dog absolutely loved. 10/10 experience—we’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at Ravens Vista. It’s such a peaceful spot and perfect for family time. There was plenty of space for all of us, and we had no problem parking our trucks, which made everything really easy. We spent the evenings relaxing outside under the stars, and the setup made it even better. Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus—she loved it just as much as we did. The host was easy to communicate with and made everything smooth. Everything felt clean, well put together, and easy to enjoy. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

We had an absolutely amazing camping trip at Autonomy Farms (Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond)! From the moment we arrived, you could tell the campground is well cared for—clean, organized, and full of shaded areas that made it comfortable all day long.
The pond is truly the highlight—beautiful, relaxing, and so much fun. Having free paddle boards and kayaks available took the experience to another level. Sitting by the water and listening to the fountain in the middle of the pond was incredibly peaceful—exactly what you want on a getaway.
The farm atmosphere made it even more special. Being able to hear the animals and show them to the kids absolutely made their day. And Cleo, the working farm dog, completely stole our hearts! She brought so much joy, love, and honestly made us feel safe too—patrolling the grounds all night better than any security guard you could imagine.
Some of our friends stayed in the Airbnb on the property, and it was the perfect cozy farmhouse-style cottage—comfortable, charming, and a great option if you want a mix of camping and indoor comfort.
Overall, we all had an incredible time and made great memories. We highly recommend Autonomy Farms and will definitely be back. Easy 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love the privacy Star Ranch offered! The campground was well equipped. I didn’t know the two cabin was included on the reservation, so that was a bonus that we all loved! The covered common area (kitchen, dining) are awesome. We were so ecstatic about the flushing toilet and hot shower!! Overall, this place is amazing!! If you want privacy and do not want to give up luxury and comfort, this place is for you!! Thank you Osman for hosting us. We will be back for sure!

I stayed at the cabin. Sadly, it was very windy until the morning I left and I couldn't stay long. But the cabin was comfortable and well equipped, and the view was just like the pictures. John was helpful and interesting, and he's done amazing things with his property. I would love to stay there again when I have more time.
Oh - and my dog really liked it too.

I had a very peaceful night at Star Ranch. After driving from Texas for 11 hours, I was so ready for a good night’s sleep. In the morning I woke to the sound of nearby chickens clucking, and a barred owl hooting off in the distance.
The A-frame was a lot more spacious than I thought it would be, having seen the pictures of it on HipCamp. The campsite would have been perfect for a small group, but I was happy to be there on my own.

Weekend Trip to Lone Juniper Ranch
Lone Jupiter Ranch was such a fantastic getaway. The trails were wide, well-maintained and perfect for exploring with our dog, which made the whole stay feel like a true adventure. Our cabin was clean and cozy. It has a mini split so we were comfortable no matter the time of day. It was the perfect size for 2 people and 1 dog.
We loved how peaceful and scenic everything was, making it easy to unplug and just enjoy nature. We had such a great time and are already planning to come back — next time we definitely want to try the campsite! Highly recommend Lone Jupiter Ranch for anyone looking for a clean, relaxing, dog-friendly escape.
