There are 6 miles of trails and roads on the ranch shared by vehicles, hikers and equestrians. A map can be provided which will insure that neighboring properties are not trespassed on. All visitors to the ranch must have checked in with the office and management. There is an extra charge of $40.00 per person per day coming onto the ranch whether they are spending the night or just visiting. This charge is beyond and in addition to the charge made for the first four individuals on the reservation for each day. We find that many of our regular clients on the ranch are very friendly and helpful. Only 1 site is exclusively available right now Come stay at our rustic campsite under some large oak trees next to a little open area by an ecological pond on our working ranch! With 54 acres for our horses and avocados, we welcome guests to camp on a somewhat private part of the ranch (on occasion, equestrians may ride by). We can accommodate up to 8 more campers depending on the group type. We love welcoming families to the ranch, but like to approve larger groups ahead of time! At the campsite you'll find picnic tables, a fire pit for small fires, and running water. Minimal 110 Volt electrical outlet is at the campsite. There is a fully functional unique bathroom made out of a converted horse trailer with a toilet and sink a few hundred yards from the site. Walking around the property, you'll see an activity barn and a historic 19th century cottage which houses a private library. Permission may be granted for entry to these structures if requested. There is an outdoor shower at the campsite with cold water only. Some firewood may be provided at no cost. Campers, making reservations during cold winter months when the otherwise beautiful weather becomes cooler, should be aware that because of the proximity of a wind machine which makes a noise like a helicopter about 300 yards away from the campsite, on a neighboring property, may interrupt an otherwise peaceful and quiet experience. The wind machine comes on automatically when the temperature drops to around 37 degrees so that avocados in the orchard do not suffer from a freezing temperature. Please note the trigger temperature for the machines is taken at individual low points on the adjacent property and may reflect as many as 6 degrees lower than what is found on forecast sites. This machine probably might turn on maybe 7 nights in a year and only during the cold winter months. Headlamps are a great idea, otherwise, flashlights for sure. Minimal 110 V. electricity at campsite. The library and restroom are a little ways away from the campsite have lighting but it is very dark between the campsite and those facilities. We are located only two miles to the ocean beaches and about a mile to a major shopping center. UCSB is just minutes away. Bicycling is very easy as all roads and access are flat. Please return all furniture to the place(s) from which it was moved and thank you for putting out your fire(s) and carrying out your trash to the dumpster when leaving the campsite.

This place was just what we were looking for. A quiet getaway in a beautiful setting. There is a farm and our toddler loved seeing the goats, chickens and donkey. We had a small group come up to Nathan's ranch for my sister's birthday, and we rented out two of the glamping sites. We had so much fun, and it was awesome being away from the city with such amazing views. Seriously, the mountains were insane, and I don't think I've ever seen the Milky Way so clearly. Nathan was lovely, as are the animals—everyone should do the petting zoo. Definitely bring your earplugs if you're in Pink Pony #1 (the rooster is an early riser!) We'll be back for sure :)

My daughter just turned 17. Instead of a party she said, “I want to go camping with my friends and see the stars.” Which is awesome accept that the last time she went camping she was ten and her Dad and I did all of the heavy lifting and while I am sure she and her friends could have learned the hard way how to camp, since it was her birthday i wanted it to be special and easy. I searched on HipCamp and found, “Camping by the pond,” and, “Autonomous Farms.” I thought, “Oh. This is perfect.” I arrived before the girls and was greeted by the camp host, a white furry beautiful goddess named, Cleo, aka a Dog. I was alone but surrounded by goats, ducks, cows, chickens, peacocks, the sound of toads and other farm animals and Cleo hung by me as I unpacked the Wagoneer and set up the teepee, tent, sunshade, and birthday signs. I felt safe with Cleo as every time a car drive by, her ears shot up, her eyes went laser beam and her tail stood up. I knew, no matter what comes, Cleo is going to guard us. When my girls arrived, my new BF and I greeted them. On the first night, Cleo slept outside our tents and on day 2 she slept with the girls.

We had the most incredible wedding camp-out here! 🌿✨ Dave was the absolute best host — kind, easygoing, and so helpful with every bit of logistics. He helped us organize things like fuel for our generators, firewood, and even connected us with an amazing caterer for our reception. Dave is just good people. For our potluck rehearsal dinner, he cooked the meats himself, and they were so delicious! The property itself is stunning — with wide-open views that made for the most beautiful sunsets and starlit nights. The built-in fire pit, flush toilet, and outdoor shower were such a treat and made our stay feel extra comfortable while still keeping that perfect camp vibe. It was always a joy to see Dave drive up with his two adorable pups in tow. Thanks to him and this magical spot, we were able to create the camp-out wedding of our dreams. The whole weekend was pure magic — the kind of experience we’ll be talking about forever.

Weekend Trip to Gracewood Santa Barbara

Amazing experience. Beautiful farm. Directions were very precise and made it very easy to get to the campsite. We stayed one night, hopefully next time we can stay longer. Place is well kept and the host was very responsive. Definitely recommend.

3 nights at North Fork Ranch (Horses Welcome)

Everything about our stay was absolutely lovely. The home itself is warm and inviting with everything I needed to cook there and enjoy a nice weekend away. It’s also surrounded by a private fence so it made us feel even more disconnected from the world, making our trip that much more relaxing. Definitely a place worth staying over and over again. The bed was super comfortable and there was almost no outside noise to disturb us but the best part had to be the stargazing. The view of the night time sky was breathtaking. This has been my favorite place to stay.
