LOCATION INFO Enjoy a rustic, no-fuss stay on our 20-acre working farm just 15 miles south of Bakersfield, with easy freeway access. Campsites sit along the pond - perfect for catch-and-release fishing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. We have a small area with farm animals (pigs, goats, sheep, peacocks and chickens) for you to enjoy. Expect a desert climate: hot summers, cold winters. Each site includes a small table, potable water spigot, picnic table, and fire pit (bring your own wood). All sites are BYO tent or car-camping with the exception of our one Glamping Site which includes a queen bed. Some have vehicle height limits (noted in site names), and cannot accommodate pop-ups or truck campers. Amenities include one shared indoor toilet and an outdoor hot/cold shower. There are 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards that are free to use amongst all guests. We offer self check-in and you're welcome to arrive anytime after 1PM; checkout is 11AM. Please respect quiet hours after 10PM if arriving late. CAMP RULES No Pets – Our dogs roam freely and protect the farm and see other animals as threats. You will be asked to leave with no refund if you bring a pet. Quiet Hours: 10 PM–7 AM. If we receive complaints about noise, you’ll be asked to leave immediately. 1 Tent + 1 Car are permitted per Site, with the exception of Site 4 which allows 2 tents/2 cars. If you are a large group with multiple tents and families, you will need to book multiple sites. Each site has a maximum capacity, so if you put in 12 people, it will not show you all the sites available - put in 4 people and then you can pick which combination of sites you would like for your group. No tents or canopies on the grass/lawn area. No fireworks or open flames outside of designated fire pits. Propane burners or grills are permitted. Do not feed the farm dogs - no treats or food, ever. At checkout: dispose of trash in the dumpster by Site 5, soak any hot coals, wipe down tables, and put back the kayaks and paddleboards. Shower use: Only farm-provided shampoo and soap are allowed. Do not move firepits. Commercial use of any photography or video content captured on the farm -including for business, promotional, or influencer purposes - is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.

BYO tent site #6 is situated on the north side of the pond. It has shade during part of the day from the trees. It can accommodate 1 vehicle, 1 tent and up to 6 campers maximum. Vans are ok, but RVs and campers are not permitted due to the small parking area. LOCATION INFORMATION Our farm experience offers a no-fuss stay on a real working 20 acre farm approximately 15 miles south Bakersfield with easy freeway access. Sites are perched on the edge of the pond – enjoy catch and release fishing or spend some time on the provided paddle boards or kayaks. Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Each site has a small table, water spigot with potable (aka drinkable) water, picnic table and fire pit ring (you provide your own wood). All sites are BYO (bring your own) tent or you can sleep in your car. Certain sites have height limitations and cannot accommodate pop up tents or trucks with campers – you’ll see these limitations in the campsite names. There is one shared indoor toilet and one outdoor shower that has hot and cold water. You may be greeted by our 3 working dogs - they're big, but friendly and love visitors. RULES 1. Pets are not permitted. You will be asked to leave (with no refund) if you bring a pet. We have working dogs and it is an unsafe environment for your pet. 2. Quiet hours observed between 10pm-7am. 8. We provide shampoo/body soap for the shower and do not allow outside bath products in the shower. 9. No moving or relocating the firepit SPECIAL HELPFUL NOTES 1. You may wander the property, but campers are not allowed in the pasture, barn, or on farm equipment and vehicles. We do not offer farm tours at this time. 2. There is no electricity or wifi at the campsites. Cell phone service for all providers is great. 3. You're welcome to hang your hammock if you have tree straps - no nailing or screwing anything to the trees. 4. There is a Walmart, Lowes, Albertsons and Vallarta market all located within 20 minutes of the farm for any firewood, ice or other items you need. 7. Do not leave your shoes or trash on the ground and accessible to animals. Between the dogs, wild cats, coyotes, foxes, skunks, racoons, squirrels, etc. they will go missing or you'll find a big mess in the morning. 8. We are a true working farm and we operate 7 days a week. This means any day of the week, we may be doing tractor work, fixing irrigation, mowing the lawn, weed eating, chain sawing, or any number of other activities that it takes to keep a farm operating and the camping area looking clean and nice. We also have staff coming and going in the early hours for farmers markets. 9. The campsites are cleaned every Monday and Thursday. We love our trees for the shade they provide and so do the birds – which means there’s bird poop (part of nature). If this is going to bother you, bring a tablecloth or towel. 10. We are on well water, during the summer months, let the water in the faucets run for a couple seconds to release the sulfur smell. 11. We do not provide electricity to charge electric vehicles.

BYO tent site #1 is situated first as you enter our Eucalyptus driveway. It has shade during part of the day from the trees and is perched next to the pond. It can accommodate 1 vehicle, 1 tent and up to 4 campers maximum. No vans, campers, or camper shells can be accommodated at this site due to tree height. This is our smallest campsite and will accommodate small tents for up to 4 people. Day-use rentals are for a five-hour period, giving you time to decorate, celebrate, and unwind without feeling rushed. Whether you’re envisioning a rustic birthday party, a relaxed afternoon with loved ones, or a creative farm-inspired event, our space offers the perfect blend of country charm and practical amenities. DETAILS: The rental times INCLUDE setup and tear down times. Request the starting date as the day you would like to use the picnic area. The picnic area can accommodate up to 40 people. No amplified music or live musicians. No glitter, confetti or fake flower petals. Guests are required to remove all decor items. A $250 refundable security deposit is required at the time of booking. If no damage is done to the gazebo or surrounding area and all trash/decor items are properly removed, the deposit will be fully refunded.

Such a beautiful and peaceful Hipcamp spot! I loved swimming in the lake, waking up right by the water, and hearing the cows and bullfrogs at night. The friendly farm dogs were the best touch. This wasn’t my first stay and definitely won’t be my last, can’t wait to come back!

This campsite was an absolute gem and easily one of the best outdoor experiences I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming—perfect for unplugging and truly relaxing. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and everything felt safe, organized, and thoughtfully laid out. It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the amenities in top shape. There was no shortage of things to do, either kayaking, fishing, open space for games, or just sitting around the campfire, there was something for everyone. It struck a perfect balance between activity and relaxation—you could stay busy all day or simply unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overall, this campsite is ideal for families or anyone looking to escape the noise of everyday life. It offers comfort, cleanliness, and plenty of opportunities to make great memories. I would absolutely come back again. And we will.

There were no surprises. The host explained everything upfront so I knew exactly what to expect. There was excellent communication. The day areas and the site as a whole were well kept. I enjoyed my stay and I intend to book again some time in the future.

So comfortable Glamping

We had an absolutely amazing camping trip at Autonomy Farms (Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond)! From the moment we arrived, you could tell the campground is well cared for—clean, organized, and full of shaded areas that made it comfortable all day long. The pond is truly the highlight—beautiful, relaxing, and so much fun. Having free paddle boards and kayaks available took the experience to another level. Sitting by the water and listening to the fountain in the middle of the pond was incredibly peaceful—exactly what you want on a getaway. The farm atmosphere made it even more special. Being able to hear the animals and show them to the kids absolutely made their day. And Cleo, the working farm dog, completely stole our hearts! She brought so much joy, love, and honestly made us feel safe too—patrolling the grounds all night better than any security guard you could imagine. Some of our friends stayed in the Airbnb on the property, and it was the perfect cozy farmhouse-style cottage—comfortable, charming, and a great option if you want a mix of camping and indoor comfort. Overall, we all had an incredible time and made great memories. We highly recommend Autonomy Farms and will definitely be back. Easy 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful spot me and my wife enjoyed it and one night we had it all to ourselves selfs the pond is amazing and the dogs are super friendly made the trip 100% better thank you for having us on your property!

Overall experience was good. Campsite and facilities were reasonably clean. Had a hard time finding the map when entering the facility so it was took a second to find the bathroom and shower in the dark. Host also wasn’t super responsive when we asked questions.

I loved my camp spot and the bathroom facilities and the quiet. The morning was magical with all the singing of the birds and the sound of the fountain.

Beautiful location and the sites were spaced with a lot of room between them. Has it's own wildlife - I had 3 owls hooting above me overnight. Would love to stay again!

Loved our stay here. My two boys (4 and 3) had a blast visiting the animals and kayaking on the pond. Campground was beautiful with everything you’d expect from nice looking toilet and outdoor shower to fire pit, picnic table etc. lots of shade from the beautiful trees.

We had an amazing time camping at Bakersfield Farm Animals and Pond! From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, clean, and well taken care of. The property is beautiful, and being surrounded by animals made the experience even more special—especially for the kids. The camping area was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy nature. The pond added such a nice touch—perfect for unwinding and taking in the scenery. You can really tell the owners put a lot of love into the place. If you’re looking for a unique, family-friendly camping experience that’s a little different from the usual spots, this is definitely it. We’ll 100% be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!

This place is an oasis in the outskirts of Bakersfield. Simply a beautiful and spacious property with a pond, farm animals and a welcoming party of the friendliest dogs ever.

A little lighting to see the site pull in more clearly after dark or at the least a heads up about how dark it would be. Not having a dog jumping all up on my car while trying to turn around scratching my car. I could not stay as I could not see to pull into the site safely.

Our trip was amazing!! We had so much fun catching lots of fish in the pond, perfect for beginner fishermen. The campsites are close together, but no one else was camping there so we had lots of time to ourselves. The land is beautiful and the dogs are extremely friendly, we especially felt safe because of them. The pond activities are great for keeping cool in the hot sun, and the bathroom and shower is nice and clean. There are lots of flies so bring bug spray if this will bother you. The shaded campsites helped us stay cool in the 90°+ weather, and the sprinklers on the grass were fun to run through too xD We chose this spot just as a place to stay during a trip for a concert, but it made the entire trip a wonderful experience! Would highly recommend :) One thing to note that the owner did mention in the description is that this is a farm and the farm workers were present multiple times throughout the day, they were no problem at all but if privacy is what you're looking for then perhaps look elsewhere; but we had a blast enjoying the land and the animals and are so grateful for the experience!

My gf and I LOVED camping at the farm. It was beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. We loved the dogs, they were so friendly and well behaved. We kayaked and did some fishing and releasing, we had an amazing and joyous time. Bathroom was clean and the shower was a plus! Will definitely come back soon and highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful weekend at site # 4. Going in early March was cold but we had the whole campsite to ourselves. The views were beautiful & the animals were precious. Even in the chilly weather we toom the kayak & paddleboard out for a spin & enjoyed our time on the water. We will definitely be coming back again!

This camp was lovely in that there was quite a bit to see - namely all the farm animals. The dogs were lovely, as a dog lover, but be warned that they are very human-interested! They slept next to our tent all night (so cute), but also jumped on me when we first arrived, covering my clothes in mud. When you're camping you get dirty, so what! Just be ready to get dirty. As for the campground, the map to the campsites was slightly unclear, but we figured it out. And the bathroom was clean and surprisingly nice! Overall, great visit. Thank you!

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the farm! The pond was great, I was able to catch my first fish ever and 24 more after that! The farm was very clean and well kept. We had enough shade until mid afternoon and then threw our canopy up. The outdoor shower honestly exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed it! The water was hot!!! And the bathroom was clean. Meredith was super responsive and helpful. I enjoyed having Olaf around! I felt very safe and protected.

The dog was kept unleashed(The host said she always does it). The dog got close to my car and continued barking, so I couldn't get out of my car. I messaged to the host and she cancelled my reservation, but I still need to pay Hipcamp process fee, it's definitely a waste of money. She said electricity and hot shower was not available for a while. She communicated with me nicely, but I have to say overall experience was dissappointing.

Awesome experience!!! My daughter and I booked it like an hr before and they were able to accommodate. We did a random roadtrip to Sequoia, and stayed for one night. Super peaceful and the two dogs are super friendly! Would highly recommend

Autonomy Farms was such an amazing little place to stay. We stopped for a one night pitstop. Our hostess Meredith was super responsive and had clear communication. In one evening we got to do a little catch and release fishing (caught Bass and Bluegill) hung out with the farm puppies, and got to visit farm animals.

Meredith's Land is a magical place tucked away behind closed gates. I felt immediately transported as I drove down the long, dark road and was greeted by Cleo, the farm dog, and the sounds of cows mooing, ducks quacking, and birds and goats singing. If you are looking for a place to connect with the farm animals, not too far from the city sounds, Meredith's land is the perfect spot for a fun family getaway.
