My dad bought the farm in 1979 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th then my stepdad Jan 18th Alot of loss but hopefully I can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests. Learn more about this land: Our farm is 3 miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center and Maverick. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave. on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, goats beller and roam, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it smoothes out asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with bucket and bag inserted, there is shavings to drop when done. Solar lights outside and 1 inside. I plan to upgrade and have shower bag thats heated from sun. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5, 6 and 1 are usable sadly.

The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. This 85 acre parcel sits just west of Nevada City, CA with the Deer Creek on our southern border and the Tribute Trail along the Newtown Canal on our northern border. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, It is a 10 minute drive to the quaint, historical gold rush town of Nevada City, and about 20-30 minutes by bicycle along the the Tribute Trail into town. Nevada City has great restaurants, bars, music and theater, as well as shopping and art galleries. Or take a walk along the trail and down to the bridge that crosses the Deer Creek to a loop trail with lovely creek views and wooded scenery, about 1.5 hours there and back to the campground. The gorgeous South Fork of the Yuba River is a 15 - 30 minute drive away, depending on which access you choose. Great hiking, biking and swimming opportunities abound in the surrounding Sierra Nevada Foothills. The Bowman Road is about 1 + hour's drive East on Hwy 20 to Lake Spaulding, the smaller Fuller and Rucker lakes and Bowman Lake, as well as the Grouse Ridge hiking area. We offer 4 tent platforms, as well as 4 RV parking sites. There are no hookups at this point, but there is a bathhouse with potable water, flush toilets and hot water shower .

A small but cozy and well-appointed cabin/cottage in a forest of pine trees and cedars within 10 minutes of the Yuba River. The property is two acres of forest in between town and the Yuba River. The cabin has a kitchenette and it's own private bathroom. In addition to the indoor shower, there is also a semi-private outdoor shower. There are also places to relax and enjoy the forest. There's a very comfortable queen bed plus a pull-out sofa bed that can fit 1-2 more people. The cabin is quiet but please note that it is within close proximity of the other house on the property.

David was a wonderful host! We happened to go the weekend of the huge snow storm and it sure made for an adventure. We had some snow-related hiccups (like power outages) but he was very helpful in making our trip comfortable and still a huge success. We will definitely be back!

Kristie's Farm was very quaint, it had all the farm animals! I was able to pet and feed a horse, the dogs were super friendly, there were ducks and chickens and little goats. They're not in your way and they don't bother you they're off to the side. You can see them if you like I thought it was really nice you're backed up into a field that has nothing it's beautiful it's very quiet out there! The only thing I would like to bring to anybody's attention it is very close to the person's home not that they're out there bugging anybody, no. Kristy was very quick to address any situations. They have a fire pit but they have it where you can put it inside this container which is nice, they have big benches and they have a outhouse! LOL very clean.

This place is very quiet and safe feeling, not sure what the previous person meant about feeling unsafe. We met Kristy when we arrived. She was very nice and accommodating. She advised us as how to park our 24ft trailer. We will definitely stop and stay again next time we pass through Northern California.

Weekend Trip to Bigfoot Lodging Vacation Rentals

The camp sites were very well kept. The night time camp host was just the nicest lady that way above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We showed up after hours, but she greeted us anyway and opened the store for us so we could get supplies and fire wood. The manager or owner came to greet us the following morning and was also very kind and friendly. We couldn't give a higher praise to Bigfoot Lodging. 2 thumbs up

Weekend Trip to Wisdom eco-preserve

Great experience at Wisdom Reserve with our family! Adam was great in answering all of our questions prior to arriving. The Cabin was nicely equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of firewood to keep the cabin nice and warm. Our daughters loved hiking, making smore's around the fire, and just hanging out in nature. Thank you Adam for your hospitality!

Spent just under two weeks in the Airstream as a solo traveler and it was perfect. Location was great - 5 minutes to things in Paradise, 20-30 minutes to things in Chico. Property was wonderful. Beautifully landscaped and tended. Lovely places to sit. Dogs and cats are friendly and chickens, sheep, and alpaca are fun to have around. The trailer was wonderful. Well appointed and nice to have the equivalent of a separate full-sized couch to hang out on while reading. Hosts were lovely. Very communicative, responsive, and welcoming. I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
