But Ettawa was oriented towards families and a more relaxed and rustic atmosphere. We are working hard to restore her to her former glory. We are excited to announce that we have one cabin and a few campsites ready for use and will be adding more as we go. The campground offers hot showers and flush toilets, two sites in the Glade have running water and power. The cabin is a fully equipped studio with kitchen and bathroom. You can hike through our property to the Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest or just enjoy the clean air and listen to the wind and the birds. On clear nights the stars put on an amazing show. Clear Lake is about 45 minutes away with all the fishing and water sports you could ask for. Harbin Hot Springs are 15 minutes away and they offer day passes for reasonable rates. We are located about 20 minutes outside of Middletown. Be aware that half of the road is dirt (and that's better than the asphalt half) all of it is fine for small cars, just take your time. The last 1/2 mile or so is a one lane road, so please be careful of opposing traffic and uneven surfaces. We cannot accommodate vehicles longer than 28’ on these roads. Please do not take County Road 110 from Boggs/Cobb - it is not maintained at all. We offer California camping at its finest. Fresh air, whispering trees, amazing star fields . . . this can mean the less attractive side of nature as well. We have ticks, rattlesnakes, stinging things, poison oak, uneven trails and surfaces, and a bear on one ridge with mountain cats on the other (no sign of either in the campground). We keep the restroom stocked with Tecnu for the poison oak, but please watch yourselves and especially children. Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on lead and inside at night for their own protection and the comfort of others. We are fairly hands off in our hosting approach. Unless there's a question or problem, you likely won't see us. But we have people close by and are only a message away.

Our land is true wilderness, with some development of trails and amenities, at our Calistoga ranch just 10 minutes outside of town, wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers behind the shade screens. The main house is not part of hipcamp; tenants are a nice family but keep to themselves. Our land is shared by my cousins, uncle, and myself, and I am off-site most of the time. My cousin lives on site but is not part of hipcamp, and our tenants take care of other aspects of the land, but also are not part of hipcamp. For this reason, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time! That means: when I text you with questions, please text back! Read the guide! Lots of issues can be mitigated this way, and you can get maximum enjoyment out of our land. That said: This hipcamp is a 'leave no trace, clean up after yourself' campground. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox). So again, there is no host on site, but I am very available by text, all times, and there is a caretaker on site for emergencies. If all of this that is ok with you, read on! We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access and services and the best views. You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, deer...(some non-edible, but) beautiful wild mushrooms at the right time of year! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike! We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it. We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer. Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries. We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River. We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More! For you foodies there are Savor Food Tours, Relish Culinary Adventures in addition to all the incredible restaurants in town. There is so much to do and see in our beautiful part of the world. We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! Plus easy access to the bike path leading to both Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Weather issues: The tiny house has heating but no AC, which is not normally an issue unless daytime temperatures are in the mid 90s or higher. Summer nighttime temps are usually in the 50s and the space cools rapidly with windows open. The rec room has both heating and AC, which can be slept in in the case of extreme temperatures. In the winter, heavy rainfall can make the stay unpleasant as you need to move outside frequently between buildings.

Lulu’s Landing and Captain Wack’s Cove is a pirate-themed Creekside hangout, where you can enjoy a fire, except during banned season. Also a great place to capture a glimpse of the numerous critters that cruise our creek. Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Otters, Ducks and Herons as well as numerous songbirds that feed from our bird feeder. Lulu’s Lanai is a Flamingo-themed outdoor living room and dining area with fun vintage furniture and décor. The Take- A -Liki- Tiki Shower Shack is a great place to cool off and clean up after a day on the river or exploring tidepools at the coast. There is even a puppy bath station behind it for your furry friends! The Wack Shack is our outdoor bar and grill, full of fun, colorful lights and signs. There’s plenty of equipment to cook there: appliances, a BBQ, sink, fridge and walk-up bar. We also have several apple trees, a pear tree, and tons of blackberries when in season to share with our guest. Our Veggie Garden will be available next season to enjoy also. We are constantly improving our property so please stay in the finished designated guest areas only until we open up the coming attractions. There are plenty of sites and destinations within minutes from our home too! We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past. We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive. Guerneville is a quick 4 mile drive and has a Safeway and many restaurants and quaint shops too. Adults of 21 years or older only please. TOT#4440N

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland

What an incredible place! Each and every corner of Lynda’s property is well thought out. There are little cozy nooks everywhere for private relaxation and larger spaces for communal fun. The decorations are amazing and even the smallest details are considered, like small bedside lights that are also fans for the warmer months. Citronella candles are disbursed throughout as are lighters for lighting them. There are grills and every utensil you could need. If Wackalulu had only the sitting area by the creek and none of the other restful spots this place would be amazing. Seriously, check out this incredibly peaceful spot from which you can walk to a delicious cafe or right into Monte Rio. It feels secluded and peaceful and yet it’s right in the middle of everything The Russian River has to offer. Oh, and Lynda and Rich are absolutely amazing hosts!! They were kind, funny and just a joy to talk with. Don’t miss out on this gem of a place. Or do miss out so we can more easily book again.

Site 16 or Glamping 3 was perfect. Slightly set back from the main road offering more privacy. The tent set up (in particular the bed) was quite comfortable. A truly magical spot.

Sue's cabin was so cute and peaceful, we loved having breakfasts on the deck overlooking the creek and staying cozy inside after dinner. It was the perfect location for my gf and I to get away from the festivities in town. Highly recommend! Be sure to factor in the additional driving time due to the road work.

Weekend Trip to Creek View Tree House

This was honestly one of my favorite trips I’ve ever had on this platform. The treehouse was absolutely wonderful — cozy, clean, peaceful, and everything felt just right. Sue greeted us when we arrived and was incredibly kind and friendly. She was also very responsive whenever we had questions. The place itself was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room was very comfortable and thoughtfully prepared, with multiple blankets available, including electric heated blankets that worked really well and made the stay extra cozy. The fire pit was also amazing — sitting by the fire at night was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. There was also a hammock at the treehouse, which was super easy to set up and perfect for lying down and relaxing for a while. In the morning, we woke up to different bird sounds and even saw some birds and wildlife around the area, which made the whole experience feel magical. We also heard there was a cat nearby, though sadly we didn’t get to meet the cat this time! The only small downside was that the shower was not available during our stay, but other than that, everything was truly perfect. Overall, this was a very special and memorable stay. Sue was a wonderful host, the place was beautiful, clean, and relaxing, and we had an amazing time. Strongly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

This was my 4th time camping at Sugarloaf but my first glamping. Simply put, my wife and I were wowed from the moment we arrived. The site was perfectly situated and the yurt included two small chairs, nightstands and small table, two foldout sleeping pads, a queen bed that was as comfortable as our mattress at home, charged wireless lantern and lamp, and…electricity! I have never been as cozy and warm camping…this was a game changer for me as an outdoorsy person. My wife, always a good sport about camping, was actually comfortable and so so happy to be able to blow dry her hair after a shower. Outside were two loungers, a picnic table and two Adirondack chairs next to the fire pit. 10 out of 10, I can’t wait to go back!

3 nights at CAMP CAZ

Exceptionally beautiful location and a true hidden gem. The stream is absolutely beautiful and totally private. The kind of place you’ll never forget and be so glad you found. Truly an unforgettably beautiful place to be. We could have spent days on days enjoying the water and would absolutely return if we have the opportunity. Host is terrific, instructions are all thorough and accurate - she provides great communication if needed. Cabin itself is a vintage gem! Furnishings are basic but exactly as shown in the photos so you know what to expect - ie) no real seating beyond the bed and the two outdoor chairs in the main room. We were only two so it was fine. Cabin is very dark and we used headlamps and some extra lights - would have loved more lighting to be able to enjoy the beautiful cabin. Would be nice if there were some rugs and a door mat, both to make it cozy and help with wet shoes on a very rainy day, which we had when we arrived. Kitchen is quite well equipped and you can do all the cooking you want to, with a few key exceptions: no toaster or basic spices (beyond salt & pepper), so bring those. Mugs are cute enamel but not ideal for hot drinks, so bring your travel mugs. No sink stopper so if you have a dish pan in your camping gear, you’d likely use that. One bed squeaks so bring your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. None of that is to say this isn’t an exceptional find - just would have loved to know these particular things so passing the favor along!

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We had an amazing stay here-one of our best family experiences. The setup strikes the perfect balance between comfort and being outdoors. The tents with real beds and electric blankets made it cozy at night, and the firepit setup was perfect for relaxing evenings. What really stood out was the layout of the space-it feels like a small community rather than being isolated. There's a shared open area where kids can run around and play freely, which made it ideal for families. Our kids had an incredible time. We also loved the simplicity-no internet meant everyone was more present, which added to the experience. Everything felt thoughtfully set up and easy to enjoy without stress. If you're looking for a comfortable, family-friendly glamping experience with a great atmosphere, this place is a gem.

What a great spot to get in out of the cold and rain. I loved the rain sounds at night here. The grill, the kitchen and the bed were exactly what I wanted, but ended up spending hours in the comfy chair listening to the rain. I loved this quiet spot. Also, Sue's recommendations were perfect. Food, views and directions. Use Sue as a resource she was lovely.

It was such a great stay, we did one night in the coop and wish we could have stayed longer! The outdoor kitchen and wood stove was so nice. It rained while we were there but just listening to the rain while making food and enjoying a fire was amazing. The coop is very cozy with its own wood stove as well. Chris met us on arrival showed us the lay of the land. The sauna was such a nice touch as well! Will def be back!
