You'll have great cell phone reception and 5G connections. Social media and phone calls will be easy at any time. Please be very respectful of the grounds and be very cautious with campfires and smoking. Guest access: There is only ONE way to access the site so please follow the directions exactly. GPS will take you to a route that is not vehicle accessible. You will drive through a residential neighborhood before entering the forest property. Please drive slowly and respectfully. Other things to note: Please pack your trash and take it with you. We do not provide trash cans or bins to avoid scavenging animals and the winds scattering trash. IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have a self-contained toilet system. Please pack out all your own waste. Thank you! 4-wheel drive is recommended but regular cars, up to 30 foot RVs, can access by taking it slow. Low-ground sports sedans access without issue. Until recently, it was impossible to obtain any internet access at all. Thanks to Starlink, we now have fast satellite internet on site. Please note that it is normal for the system to drop out for periods of 30 seconds up to 2 minutes at a time since this is early stage technology. STRONG WINDS The winds in the desert are very strong between February and June which may limit your enjoyment of the outdoor amenities. We do all we can to navigate around the winds but cannot control the impact it may have on your stay. POWER OUTAGES The power is cut off for 8-12 hours at least twice a year by the electrical company in order for maintenance to be done (for instance in preparation for the fire seasons). We inform our guests of outages as soon as we are made aware but cannot control the time or manner in which this may impact your stay. REFUNDS Should any inconveniences such as those listed above or anything else beyond our control affect your stay, we will not provide refunds. Please understand certain things simply come with the windy, rural, desert location. Thank for understanding! PETS There is a one time, non-refundable pet fee of $80 per pet and no more than 2 dogs are allowed. You can hike and have a picnic anywhere on our 41 acres of rock gardens and oaks in the hills of Fallbrook. Our resident pack goats Segovia and Lassen will bring your gear!!! There are caves in the rocks and when the spring is flowing there is an underground waterfall! In the evenings you'll be transported to what sounds like a rainforest as the peacocks and toucans of our neighbor Emerald Forest Bird Gardens start singing.Santa Margarita Preserve is just a few miles away. You can go for a hike and dip your feet in the water.Bring your bikes-Road or Gravel. There are greats roads in the area and miles of easements for gravel bikes. You'll have great cell phone reception and 5G connections. Social media and phone calls will be easy at any time. Please be very respectful of the grounds and be very cautious with campfires and smoking. Guest access: There is only ONE way to access the site so please follow the directions exactly. GPS will take you to a route that is not vehicle accessible. You will drive through a residential neighborhood before entering the forest property. Please drive slowly and respectfully. Other things to note: Please pack your trash and take it with you. We do not provide trash cans or bins to avoid scavenging animals and the winds scattering trash. IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have a self-contained toilet system. Please pack out all your own waste. Thank you! 4-wheel drive is recommended but regular cars, up to 30 foot RVs, can access by taking it slow. Low-ground sports sedans access without issue. Our family has owned this property nearly fifty years. We currently have one site available - “Desert Mountain Scenic Overlook” - at this time. More sites coming soon! Learn more about this site: This campsite is extremely private and serene with beautiful epic views and a wide open feel. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off and high clearance / 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.
