Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. I love the Oak Grove area because we had a group of women about 12 and we all fit really good with our motorhomes, trailers, tents, cars. It was a beautiful grove. The whole mountain is beautiful thank you so much for making this a beautiful place for everybody to camp and have fun.

I have stayed in the communal area twice in the last 6 months with a large group of women and both times it was wonderful. Since my visit in June they have added two more flushing toilets to this area and a FANTASTIC outdoor shower with hot water. We hiked the campground and there is such a great variety of options for all kinds of camping. I would say if you are in a HUGE rig, you might be white knuckling it on the drive in, but once you are here, its simply glorious. Beautiful sunsets, fabulous views and the staff is FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to go back

Went as part of a group at the Oak Grove which was set under large oak trees and was nice and shaded. Lots of land to take walks and explore. Met the goats a few times as they roam free through the property. Bathrooms with flush toilets are clean and unique hot showers also. My sty was beginning of November. Not too cold not too hot. Enjoyed the stay!

Very cool property, beautiful San Diego Mountain scenery. I walked the property several times with my dog and she got to meet some goats and a nice Great Pyrenees. Checked out some other empty camp sites that I would want to rent next time for multiple days. The hilltop one looked awesome and there another hill too structure you can drive/walk to. Definitely will come back. Nice granite on the property. Makes it feel like Joshua tree with out the drive

Camped in the Oak Grove with our pups and it was perfect. Potable water access, clean restrooms, showers (luxury), directions were clear, and the mellow/welcoming vibes from everyone we encountered was a bonus. The goats and pups that roam the property were all friendly and I absolutely loved watching them wander through camp. Little bummed they stayed away because of our pups but glad we walked down to visit them in their area. Hoping to make it back to camp at different spots on the property and pet some goats 🤣. Definitely recommend visiting splitrock 🙌🏼

Weekend Trip to The Ranch

We’re a group of RV campers - 5 rigs and 1 tent, totaling 13 people and we fit comfortably with room to spare. The camp site is private, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There are plenty of shaded areas to chill during the day, and a beautifully lit dinner space. The Ranch is perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Every detail feels thoughtfully maintained, making it one of the most enjoyable camping experiences we’ve had. It’s clear this place was designed with comfort and community in mind. And then there’s Steven. He’s a great camp host. Very responsive, kind, and incredibly accommodating. Steven goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and cared for. We’re already planning our next visit. This place is a keeper!

Tales from Gloom Hollow just had our second event at Rock and Tree. Absolutely an amazing time. This venue is so pretty and well maintained. Had an incredible night time experience, being able to star gaze late at night when all the activities winded down is a huge bonus for me personally. Our player base is also enjoying this location and love our new home at Rock and Tree!

Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

Excellent place to camp, nice views, the city lights are nice to look at in the night. The spot is more than big enough to acomodate a couple vehicles with tents, its easy enough to find a level spot to set up on. There is a hand wash station and an outhouse building with a porta potty in it that is very convenient. The ground is pretty smooth and holds a spike very well. The host Shane was very nice and led us to the spot. let me clarify the road a little its a little bumpy but nothing crazy, there are ruts on the side and some bushes, nothing that warrants special vehicle or 4x4 as long as you pay attention and use common sense the road is no problem, at a couple places it looks steep but its really not anything to be concerned with. If you come up at night as long as you go slow and have good lights its not a problem, its a refuge and farm and has some cools stuff to look at, there are pigs, a goose, ducks, chicken, they have lots of fruit trees as well. As for wild life you may encounter we were told the usual you would expect for the area, we saw some hawks, a couple frogs at night and a baby snake, nothing to be concerned with. Pros, great host, clean well managed camping spot, nice view of the city lights. Cell service works at the camp site so if you want to make a call or stream you can. Cons, not really cons but if you are looking for super dark sky there is some light pollution from the city lights, just all about what you are looking for HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Such a cool sight with just the right amount of amenities to make for a great casual camping experience. The road up is no joke and you got to be unafraid to get up a dirt road that goes up quickly, but our cars could do it, even when we came in at night. Caleb was great and communicative and we will definitley coming back for the next time do our retreat, the amphitheater so well positioned and the town at night was beautiful to look at. Great sunrises and sunsets too!

We hosted our annual campout festival Raise Your Energy at Rock and Tree, and it was nothing short of magical. The property is full of hidden gems — beautiful trees offering plenty of shade, cozy hammocks for lounging, and endless nooks to explore and relax in. The hosts, Taryn and Anson, were incredibly kind and accommodating every step of the way — from the planning phase all the way through the event itself. Their communication and support made everything feel easy and stress-free. And Taylor, the on-site manager, absolutely rules — super helpful, chill, and on top of everything. This place truly captures the spirit of community and connection. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our festival, and we can’t wait to come back. I had never stayed at the communal campsite but I was pleasantly surprised by the individual sites being separated from eachother. I still felt I was provately camping. You can hear your neighbors and children playing which is nice or not depending on what type of stay you would like to have. I enjoyed the community feel of the Oak Grove campsites. Some are close together and some are tucked between boulders and in the grove. I stayed at site 1 which has a firepit and is away from the main group site. Next time I will stay in the meadow/grove. Loved it overall!

Peaceful Valley was a great location! The kitchen area was perfect for the prep of our meals. There was a BBQ, but we didn't use it since we brought our own. There was plenty of space for cars and tents as well as a nearby flushing toilet. There's a shade cover in the kitchen but other than that, there's not a lot of shade, so bring ez ups for comfort during the day.
