The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails.
Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s).
The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents.
From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails.
After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow.

Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes.
Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. I really enjoyed this campsite. I definitely recommend arriving in the daylight! All of the communal areas are so beautiful. My dog and I hiked up the mountain, prepared breakfast in the outdoor kitchen and swam and ate out by the beautiful pool. The bathroom area is perfect! The outdoor bathroom has trees growing through the roof. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Had a great stay tent camping on the Holcomb ranch! Plenty of trees, views, and spots to explore or just hang out. The campsites are well maintained and spaced out from one another with access to individual fire pits and porta-potties. We were a group of 4 with 2 cars and 3 tents, and had more space on the site than we truly knew what to do with.
We went mid- November and the first night was pretty cold with it getting just below freezing so make sure you're coming prepared.
Special thanks to the camp manager for our stay, Ed -- he was great with prompt contact and instructions for arrival, friendly check ups and information about the site, guidelines, and the area.

We had a good time doing a girls camping trip. There was ample space between us and the other campers, there were lots of trees but also great clearing to see the sky, there was a firepit, picnic table, my dog enjoyed exploring the area, and they left water for us to put the fires out. They called to check-in that we were coming, stopped by our site to see how we were doing, and provided clear directions. Already recommended the site to other families! 10/10

The sites were decently far apart and camping in November was absolutely perfect. There weren't that many people around and the whole place was quiet. It's not the easiest road to traverse - mostly our dogs didn't like all the rocking.
But overall, I would definitely come back - even if it were during the busy season. Our dogs absolutely loved being able to run around and play.

We absolutely loved our stay at Holcomb Valley Ranch. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious — you truly feel like you have the whole place to yourself. It was exactly the kind of quiet, scenic escape we were looking for. I loved how even when camping we were able to have access to home amenities like a hot shower and full kitchen. We were able to take in the views of joshua trees in the valley and breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. We will definitely stay here again, it was so peaceful.

We’re a group of RV campers - 5 rigs and 1 tent, totaling 13 people and we fit comfortably with room to spare. The camp site is private, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There are plenty of shaded areas to chill during the day, and a beautifully lit dinner space. The Ranch is perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Every detail feels thoughtfully maintained, making it one of the most enjoyable camping experiences we’ve had. It’s clear this place was designed with comfort and community in mind.
And then there’s Steven. He’s a great camp host. Very responsive, kind, and incredibly accommodating. Steven goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and cared for.
We’re already planning our next visit. This place is a keeper!

We very much enjoyed a 3 night stay at vanarchy 1. Magically created and curated place for those wanting a unique stay in one of the most beautiful high desert locations within yucca. It's way off the road, secluded and provides the type of quiet that a desert dwellers and city dwellers crave. We happen to hit it just at the tail end of a storm and got graced with rainbows and mystical skies but it would serve us just as beautiful had it been a bluebird weekend. We enjoy the jacuzzi and all the other shared spaces were inspiring. Also appreciated getting to wander off and hike and enjoy the vast indigenous plants this place has to offer.
Thank you for making our first hip camp stay the best!

We had an amazing time at Holcomb Valley ranch. I camped with my five year old for two nights. Ed met us at the gate and was incredibly helpful the whole time. The campsites are large with varying levels of privacy (e.g., if you go with a group and get more than one site, there are a few that are clustered together and others that are more sheltered. The horses were roaming the meadow when we arrived, and my son was entranced. The road up from the main highway is bumpy and can take about 15 minutes, but once you're on the highway, you're 5-10 minutes from anything you need. I highly recommend this campground - we can't wait to go back.
