Weekend Trip to Joshua Tree Container Resort

This oasis was a wonderful getaway from the city to enjoy the stars, the desert and the rain. My friend and I stayed, got rained on pretty heavily in our tent & the host was very accomodating. Even in the rain, there are plenty of common space to enjoy from the hot tub to the sauna. We were able to enjoy some sunshine as well between down pours. I will definitely be back again!

My friend and I had a great time here! Though the weather was bad (cold & rainy) the hot tub & sauna were amazing! We were able to cook food under shelter, play games, paint, etc and enjoy being outdoors while avoiding the rain. We spent majority of our time hanging out in the common areas and loved the hot tub in the rain! The host was incredibly kind and accommodating.

The dome was such a fun experience! The bed was really comfortable, a nice selection of amenities yet still felt like you were “roughing it” a bit with the wholistic setup. Unfortunately, we weren’t there long enough to take advantage of the pool, hot tub, or sauna, but we did get a beautiful night of stargazing on the upper deck! And we loved his recommendation to eat at The Palms. We highly recommend his place.

I highly recommend staying here! The host Dayne is very friendly, he provided some recommendations for us to do w/ our dogs. The whole campground was clean, from the bathrooms, kitchen, tent, and beds. We could charge our devices in the tent and there was a fan or heater if we needed it. It's a quiet & safe area. You're close to the park and good restaurants!

Weekend Trip to Our Desert Domestead

This place was so wonderful! A really special spot snd the dome is amazing! I stayed here on my own for a night. It is safe and peaceful. I was greeted when I arrived and oriented to the space.. the dome is lovely. It has a water cooler, coffee, tea, and cookware. The bed is really comfortable and the temperature is regulated so I was perfectly comfortable. One side of the dome is all windows so you can see the sun rising from the bed. There is an outdoor shower and very clean porta potty just for that dome. No sharing of bathroom with anyone. It is such a beautiful area.. I would highly recommend this spot!

This place is pure magic! The lotus tent felt more like a boutique hotel than a campsite… cozy bed, incredible desert views, and nights under the stars with a telescope. Sunrise, sunset, and the endless sky were unforgettable. The amenities were so thoughtful: outdoor shower, cowboy pool, hammocks, pizza oven (my pizza wasn’t pretty but it was delicious!). Every detail felt intentional and added to the experience. The property backs onto open BLM land, so you can wander endlessly through the desert, discovering little art installations along the way. It felt limitless, wild, and beautiful. Days were the perfect mix of exploring Joshua Tree and lounging at the property. Evenings by the fire pit under the desert sky were the highlight. You can tell the hosts poured love into this place…. it’s private, peaceful, well-kept, and welcoming. Truly the best desert retreat if you’re looking for something bougie yet soul-soothing. I can’t wait to come back!

This spot is EXACTLY as pictured. We loved how bright, welcoming and comfortable it is. The proximity to the east entrance of Joshua Tree State Park can’t be beat! And there’s art all around if you keep your eyes peeked (“Springs”, I’m ‘looking at you! And the end of the world …) Had trouble with the door lock but Jonathan was very responsive and fixed it immediately. For those needing to work, the wifi held up to my Zoom meetings. And anyone worried about the heat (it hit 114 during our stay) should know that the air conditioners and ceiling fans kick butt. Thank you!

2 nights at Bohio Retreat Glampsite

This Casita is adorable. It has everything you need. Especially air conditioning which feels wonderful in the summer heat. We came to see meteor showers and loved sitting outside at night and watching the skies. There is tons of privacy and the desert was so quiet. We even heard coyotes yipping at night.

Weekend Trip to Coachella Lakes RV Resort

Very nice RV resort that is pet friendly with nice amenities and extremely friendly accommodating staff. We will definitely return with more family members, we went to take our corgi away from all the fireworks for 4th of July weekend it was perfect!

Weekend Trip to Joshua Tree Container Resort

This was my second visit to el ranchito and I’ll be back many times. Steve has created a beautiful oasis in the desert and takes care to make certain everyone is respectful of each other and the land. Both of my kids came with me this time and they felt the same way. We slept on hammocks and the party that was going on next to us noticed we were going to bed and immediately wound down. That doesn’t happen at every hip camp or campground one goes to. The facilities are amazing… Like a spa in the middle of nowhere. The best part is that there is no pretentiousness that comes with typical southern California spas and resorts. Anyone and everyone would feel at home here, whether you’re looking for a wilderness experience or posh glamping. It is priceless to be able to soak in a hot tub and sauna under pristine skies at night after climbing all day at Joshua tree. Sublime.

3 nights at River Sands RV Resort

River Sands is a newer RV resort that offers long and short stay. We were only there a few days while traveling through. The Clubhouse is very nice with game tables, TVs, sitting areas, exercise room (lots of equipment) and bathrooms. The pool is beautiful and there is a hot tub available. Sites are gravel but lots of space between. The park is huge with over 300 spaces. Laundry room & showers are clean. If you want a picnic table you have to rent one. Because the park is so large, depending on where your site is, you will probably need to drive or rent a golf cart to get to the clubhouse, laundry, beach, dog park, or fishing lake. It would be nice to have more shaded areas (i.e., cabana/ramada areas). It gets pretty hot and very little shaded areas. We brought our dogs and I was concerned about their feet b burning as there are very few grassy areas, if any. The beach has some cabanas. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I'm certain in a few more years, when the vegetation has a chance to grow, it'll be absolutely beautiful.
