OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

Weekend Trip to Sierra Ranch - Cabins & Tents

Gary was an excellent host. The ranch is absolutely incredible scenery, a perfect writing retreat! I was comfortable in the cabin I chose and I felt safe on the property. The camp has Gary’s installation art scattered throughout, a community center with shared kitchen and a large fire pit. There’s nice trails and easy access to the creek. Planning my next escape here as soon as I can! Thanks Gary!

We had an amazing stay. The space was peaceful, perfect place to relax and unwind. Dale and Mona were incredibly welcoming, atrentive, and thoughtful hosts who truly care about their guest. There is not too much available camping along the I five and 99 corridors so this site helps to fill that void. Since I am a van camper, I appreciated the restroom on site. I had a peaceful nights sleep both nights I stayed.

Mona made sure I had good directions. She and her husband were friendly and greeted me upon arrival, even though it was a little late. They made sure I got oriented and had what I needed. The location is peaceful for overnight, and there are hookups available for RV or dry camp parking for van camping. The restroom available at the back of the house is an added bonus. If you're a birder, this place is great. My Merlin app picked up something like 15 different species from me just standing in the driveway fixing breakfast. I'll be back!

I would say this is a great place to camp at especially if you're trying to stay local to Kings Canyon & Sequoia Ntl parks. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying at the Cottonwood cabin! It was a nice cozy space and the scenery was sooo beautiful! I got to enjoy my breakfast on a big rock by the river and it was the perfect way to start my day. The restrooms were really nice and well kept! This experience was amazing!! They have the sweetest friendliest pets and a beautiful garden to peruse. My bf and I did a tasting and got some fresh focaccia in the morning which was delicious. Definitely a great stay even in the cold months. Bathroom was very clean and large and indoors!

It was a great experience coming here! A lot to do around and a good price for what you get. While the two story cabin was just two beds, the best part was the grounds that you get.

The trailer is nestled between an abundance of greenery and the A-Frame cabin.

Great getaway place, everything was perfect. Wendy definitely makes this a special place. Pictures of what the place is are on point, ypu have everything you could thing off, loved the eggs, you have acess to the river super close to Sequoia if that is something you want to do. Def a place to be free and enjoy nature, would def love to come back! Wendy is such a great host.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Farm

Teresa is awesome and the camp site was perfect for our trip to Sequoia National Park. Campsite is easy to get to on google maps and isn’t far from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Thank you so much Teresa! We hope to stay there again!

Absolutely awesome and unique place to stay. Wendi is genuinely such a wonderful host. Her animals are all absolutely lovely to have around. Loved staying in the little vintage trailer and really enjoyed getting to sit under the stars next to a little fire every night. Her spot is right on the river and I def recommend taking a dip and laying in the hammock as the sun rises. Location is great if you are planning on going into Sequoia National Park for some adventures too!

Weekend Trip to OrangeRay~Three Rivers

Cannot recommend this Hipcamp enough! The property is perfect for a weekend getaway, and Wendi is an incredible host and truly a gem of a human, as other reviewers have also commented. We stayed in the teepee next to the reading nook and had everything we needed: a fan, light, and outlet inside the tent; dishes and cutlery and a camping stove (though we brought our own); a cooking area, an eating area, and two pool chairs to lay out. The reading nook provided a chill space to watch a movie on our iPad at night, and a quiet place for reading and meditation during the day. Outside, the property had so much to offer: plenty of animals all with unique personalities, river access (water was flowing in late September), and serene nature all around. The grocery store is less than a 5 minute drive away. Wendi deserves her own shoutout apart from the property and sleeping/playing amenities. She is an amazing host and an absolute joy to chat with. Knowing it was my boyfriend’s birthday, she went out of her way to have a cupcake and candle prepared for us in the nook! But it didn’t stop there — she also washed our dishes for us and prepared our firewood each night. She made our trip a relaxing getaway. There’s so much I could say in this review, but I’ll leave it at that and say: you have to visit Pixie’s Place for yourself if you want to experience the magic! We came as strangers and left with a new friend, and we will be back because our experience was that unique. Love you, Wendi!

I had such an amazing time! Great and attentive hosts. The Focaccia was delicious! I definitely recommend 👌. The mead tasting was totally worth it! You dont want to miss out on that while you're there. It was a perfect spot close by to Sequoia and Kings Canyon if you like national forests. Beautiful hills and meadows all around.
