Mountain Farm

We spent 2 nights here last weekend and had a great experience. It’s a really unique campsite and we’re already planning to come back again! One of the coolest things is that the host has a team of German Shepherds that help protect the property and campsite from bears. We were told they will chase bears away if they come around, which definitely made us feel more comfortable camping there. There are also lots of organic fruit trees around the property, and guests are welcome to pick the fruit for free. We ate a lot during our stay, and the host even encouraged us to pick more and bring some home. I don’t think I need to buy fruit for the next two weeks 😂 There is plenty of shade for setting up a tent, although I would recommend checking with the host before choosing where to set up. The campsite also provides a kitchen sink with hot water, a dry toilet, and a portable shower. There is a fireplace as well, and firewood was provided for free, which was a really nice bonus. The location also worked very well for exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Attractions such as the General Sherman Tree are reachable from the campsite, so we were able to use it as our base while exploring the area. Hume Lake was another highlight — it’s a beautiful place to swim, relax, and easily spend half a day. It’s also dog-friendly, which was perfect for us. Overall, we really enjoyed the peaceful setting, shade, fresh fruit, amenities, and hospitality. We would definitely stay here again!

I want to start by saying Theresa was very welcoming and we really appreciate her hospitality. That being said, we had a couple of concerns: 1. Fire access: there were a few communal fire pits, and a bit of conflict over who got to use them for cooking. It was fine sharing with other campers for dinner and smores, however, given the price of the site I think having a few more pits would be doable. However, the ground was full of very dry grass and not fire safe… we had water on hand and were cautious of flying embers. But really restrictions should probably be in place, or even having the pits over gravel or stone… 2. Theresa’s adult son was present around the camp, and offered to take us on a private hiking trail. Unfortunately the path was riddled with poison oak. More unfortunate, he was smoking a joint the whole walk. Which, we are fine with weed, but the trail was also full of dry, flammable brush.. and we felt it was not very fire safe. We also noticed he was very talkative with other campers who seemed a little uncomfortable/wanting to be left alone. He showed everyone a baby rattlesnake he caught in a jar and asked if we wanted to keep it (We said no). He also brought up his court case unprompted and how he was banned from YouTube for inappropriate content which I don’t want to repeat specifics of… all around a lot of inappropriate comments, including a few about women that made us (as 3 young women) uncomfortable Overall it was fine though

Overall this was a fine campsite for a couple of nights and was pretty close to Sequoia national park. When we arrived, we were shown to the wrong campsite, which had no flat ground to pitch a tent, so I'm not sure how we would have made that work as a tent site. They did move us to the correct site however. This hipcamp was very crowded, it did not feel private at all, so if that’s what you’re seeking look elsewhere. There's no plumbing so the "bathroom" is a portable toilet in a tiny pop-up tent, you can imagine with lots of people staying and the heat it got a little bit gross. The area is extremely remote so the host kindly offers to meet you to bring you to the site, but that ended up being pretty hard to coordinate with a lack of cell service. Some clear written directions or signage near the property could save everyone some trouble. The hosts were communicative though and helpful when we were there, offering to take us to the creek, coming by to chat, etc. I owe them a huge thank you for letting me borrow jumper cables when my car wouldn't start!

Very quiet, peaceful, and calm spot. Our teens loved to explore around the property, and the nature sounds all night long was such a reminder to slow down. We will be back for another stay.

Camper Trailer

Teresa was very welcoming and accommodating of our last minute booking. We stayed at camp site 1 (the only place we could pull the camper). The site is close in proximity to their home. Our kids loved the seesaw, wooden ladder to climb the trees, and swing. About a 15 minute unmarked walk to a beautiful river that they graciously showed us how to get to. Heated water available at the site which was great! Shower tent, bathroom tent and fire pit as well.

Teresa was so attentive to detail and making sure we made our way ok and had enough fire wood due to the excess from trimming on the land. She and her whole family and animals were so sweet and awesome to be around. And we enjoyed visiting the beautiful creek, and the sequoia mountains during our stay. It was mostly peaceful, aside from one neighbor who was playing music into the late hours. And the turkeys goblin 😹 So if you’re a light sleeper, be prepared with some foam ear plugs just in case. Overall, we’ll return to this beautiful place, and recommend you stay for a visit!

Theresa made this such a great experience. She showed us around, picked a salad from her garden for us, shared all of her knowledge about edible plants. Her dogs were amazing especially the white one. My daughter and I felt safe and comfortable there. Not only was it a great experience I feel like I left with a new friend.

Teresa was a great host! she met up with us so we wouldn't get lost getting to the property. I would say this is a great place to camp at especially if you're trying to stay local to Kings Canyon & Sequoia Ntl parks. Didn't get to explore much of the property since we had a quick trip, but would definitely come back one day again.

Teresa is awesome and the camp site was perfect for our trip to Sequoia National Park. Campsite is easy to get to on google maps and isn’t far from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Thank you so much Teresa! We hope to stay there again!

Outrageous to call this site 'Eden'. Our site was littered with trash, dumped fridges and a large used potty seat all in view of our tent with a lot more trash, broken sheds etc when you enter into the site. We stayed for one night and then made our way into Sequoia National Park which was significantly cheaper and truly is an Eden. Our original booking was for 4 nights and the host would not refund us for the remaining 3 but thankfully Hipcamp did (thank you Hipcamp!). We would not recommend this site.

The stream in the bottom of River eden is one of the clearest, untouched pices of nature we’ve seen. Giant granite rocks creates the most amazing topography for the water to run in. Teresa and her family were very nice, invited us to have dinner with them and gave us a wonderful opportunity to get to know them a little better. That said, three things that Are important to know: the campsite is up on a steep mountain road, and all the restaurants and groceries are at the foot hill; the surface on the campsite was dusty and with a lot of dry weeds; and the acsses to the stream is a 10 minuets of going down hill in a steep , sometimes slippery trail. That didn’t prevent us from going down there and enjoying this paradise for a whole day of exploring and bathing ❤️ I would definitely recommend coming here, if you don’t mind the rough side of it and love secluded marvelous nature sites..

This place was lovely, but there are a few things people should know when booking. Follow the host's directions, or you will get lost. There are three dogs on the property, which was fine for us. They got along great with our dog and we loved them. There are also roosters, chickens, and cats. The roosters give a lovely very early morning wake up call. We didn't mind because we started our day early, but some may mind. We stayed at site 5 and were very happy with the location, especially the shade. There is a water spout at every site except the ones on the river, which is also great. We did hike down to the river. The trail could use a little clearing but it is very beautiful back there. The best part was being close to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Park. We had a great time spending our days in the parks and retreating back to our camp site. This space is definitely for more rustic campers, but would definitely recommend. Hosts were very welcoming and concerned about our experience.

We had a wonderful time with our 4 year old son camping in the shade of the trees during our stay. Teresa's family was warm and welcoming to us, and we even had an evening drumming circle with them. We didn't hike down and camp by the creek, but since we had our son we chose the sites where we could have our car near us. It still felt private. We had access to fresh mountain water and the porta potty was also nice to have available. One of their sweet cats adopted us for the stay and a chicken hung out at our camp for most of a morning. All in view of a fruit orchard and organic gardens. This was a great launching place for us into the King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, about 40 min away. Looking forward to camping there again!

Good communication with host. Camp site was lovely and near a peaceful stream. Private sites, friendly fellow campers. Quiet. Hike into camp with some evidence of property clean up, but site itself was clean. ATT cell reception does not work in this area, so communicate w host way before arriving! :)

Teresa and her family were really nice. Right from starting with giving us the directions, preparing food for us helping us guiding to the parks. Their family is really interesting with lots of interesting stories and getting to know them was one of the best thing. I would definitely recommend any camper to choose this site if you're looking for fun, interesting and amazing time around with family. It was so relaxing.

The location is a little more than a 1/2 hour from Kings Canyon. Teresa is easy to work with and accommodating. The site is to tight for Class A RVs to get to though.
