I tent camped at Red Tail Ranch and had an absolutely wonderful time. It’s an obviously perfect jump off location for Yosemite National Park. I stayed at Pine Siskin which was level and had some nearby trees. It’s a short trip to the kitchen and garbage drop off. The kitchen has a great commercial sink and will keep you out of the rain and bugs while cooking. There’s a stainless steel prep table which I used plenty. By the way, no need to bring plastic water bottles filled with “purified spring water.” The water here is tasty and cold. The outdoor showers have plenty of hot water and are wonderful after a long day of exploring the park. Flush toilets are great and facilities are very clean. This is barely roughing it, even in a tent. The property is 90 acres of Sierra Foothills beauty and Robb is a fantastic and knowledgeable host. I will definitely stay here again, and I encourage you do the same!

If you want to get off the beaten path to some peaceful, quiet serenity, then this is the place for you. Great site with amenities close by. Walking trails along the meadow and only an hour from Yosemite Valley. A hidden gem.

5 nights at Red Tail Ranch at Yosemite
Site was gorgeous, hookups were some of the best we’ve had (how they were situated). We overlooked the gorgeous natural area and watched the sun set over it each night. Top-notch facilities including very, very clean real working toilets, outdoor showers and more facilities. Great Hipcamp signage!
Other items of note - we ate at Tangled Hearts Cafe and highly recommend it for any meal - great fresh, local food. In addition to enjoying Yosemite, we walked one of the paths in the nearby Stanislaus National Forest which allows leashed dogs on trail and loved it. We were really able to relax and enjoy Robb’s property! He is a fantastic, responsive and very knowledgeable host who knows Yosemite intimately! We are already trying to figure out how to come back….

My stay at the Yosemite RV park was really nice. It’s a really beautiful spot and quite peaceful. The place is a little rundown, but I still enjoy it there.

2 nights at Canyon Crest Campground and RV
The cabin on the peak is a romantic, isolated get away ! I would recommend 4x4 cuz its at the top of a mountain! This is an adventurous destination under a blanket of stars me and my love we're blessed to enjoy for a couple nights.

3 nights at Outdoorsy Yosemite
Stayed at Cabin 167. Place was incredible and had everything you need. A peaceful RV park, in a peaceful town right off the lake. 25 minutes away from the entrance to Yosemite. Would definitely recommend.

I loved staying here. It was perfect for our trip. The host was so nice and provided us with recommendations for Yosemite. It was perfect and helped so much for us to experience some treasures at Yosemite. Would definitely recommend staying here and will 100% stay again if I’m in the area. Really cool time at the canyon retreat!
That is a really nice place! Eventhough we had a rainy day, we where offered a sublime sunset there. The place is so green and quite.
Our host was really nice and welcoming! Nice hot showers, very welcomed after a freezing time at Yosemite.
There was a few very nice dogs wandering around, zena kept following me everywhere, that was cute.
The yurts are charming and very well kept.
Definitly reccomend, and would come back!

Beautiful location. The Hipcamp has been created with lights in the trees, lush grass, clean, and excellent showers/toilet block.
The sunset was incredible, it’s super peaceful. I really wish we could have stayed longer but we had other places to be. Spencer was an excellent host. I highly recommend this location. It’s perfect as a base to head into Kings Canyon.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. The property was beautiful and very close to Yosemite. We saw deer and turkeys on our walks at the ranch, which was so cool. Would definitely stay here again!

Dunlap retreat was a great spot to spend a night. Sites aren't private but they are flat and suited us just fine. The washrooms were clean and showers were warm. Directions were clear. Spencer was very welcoming to any questions.

We spent 4 nights at Robb’s campsite over Easter with our two kids (8 and 2), and had such a great time! Robb is a fantastic host—super friendly, helpful, and clearly loves sharing his beautiful slice of nature. The site is peaceful, on private land surrounded by trees and wildlife, and it felt really safe and relaxing for our family. The bathrooms were clean, and all the hookups worked perfectly. It’s also conveniently located—about a 1-hour drive to the north entrance of Yosemite Valley, which made for easy day trips. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, natural setting close to Yosemite!

It was very relaxing. Everyone is so friendly there. It’s nice to have access to showers and bathrooms while camping. They gave us the opportunity to stay in one of their RV spots with power. They gave us very good directions on where to go and places to see. If you see a black-and-white dog with no name tag but a collar don’t be alarmed. He is very friendly. His nickname is sticks. He loves to bring people sticks to have them throw it for him. He will play all day long and hang out. My wife and I are already planning our next trip to this campsite.
