Forest Mountain Treehouse Retreat

This Peaceful offgrid treehouse and camp site are perfect for your quite mountain getaway, only 15 minute drive from the beautiful yuba river with its gorgeous swimming holes and crystal clear water Pardons crossing and Oregon Creek day use area are some of the best spots. 4 Wheel or AWD is REQUIRED. It is steep terrain to access the property. Its also near historic Nevada City and only 5 minutes to the Ananda Masters market which is a wonderful local health food store! 

This property is a true off-grid experience. There is no power. If you need lights, please bring battery powered or solar powered lights or your own portable generator and power bank. There are solar lights at the tree-house and on the trail to the campsite. Being off-grid means that there will be dust, leaves, bugs & and dirt because those are all present in nature. We keep the treehouse clean, but this is in a forest. There will be maple-leaves and pine leaves that fall on the outside table at the Treehouse. This is a natural forest environment. We want the forest to do forest things. 

On the property there are 3 hammocks setup in the shade of Maple trees. Sunset views and ripe blackberries this time of year add to the off-grid experience! There are also trails to around the property to explore. Amazing sunset views and cool quiet mornings provide a calming environment.

Come enjoy the healing peace and quiet of the forest. Breathe in the fresh air and treat your self to restful afternoons on the soft sandy beaches of the yuba river. Come relax in a hammock  and watch the sunset or enjoy the view from the tree house porch while listening to the peaceful sounds of the forest.

The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Sweden, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years.

There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence.

The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north.

While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2  primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and 

fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking

*The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV.

 Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

The pasture has full RV hookups, but there is also a flush toilet and running water at the pond

Long legs come in handy in a lot of situations, but this isn't one of them

Quartz Creek.

Expansive creek side property with multiple RV parking spots and great campsites within short walking distance of a year-round stream, Located less then 10 miles from the yuba river! On the property there are Beautiful quartz Beaches and small pools for kids or pets to play in! Also the gravel in the creek is gold bearing, pans and mini sluices can be used to recover fine gold!! keep all the gold you find! This creek is very beautiful and not only does is contain gold, gorgeous water worn crystals have been found also. There are many walking trails to explore on the property that can be used as atv or dirt bike paths. Shady madrone groves right next to the creek offer a cool place to camp while still being 2 wheel drive accessable! This place is wonderful base camp to spend time at the yuba river or hike in the mountains.

Mimi’s Hideaway

Mimi’s hideaway is ideal for fully contained RVs up to 28ft.  (sorry, no tent camping). We are located in the town of Chester/ Lake Almanor. The site sits on the edge of a beautiful 70 acre meadow where you can explore the historical Olsen barn, complete with barn owl. Follow the trail a short walk from your site to get epic views of Mt. Lassen,hiking, and fishing. Watch wildlife, birds, and the moonrise while relaxing at the table with built in fire pit. Also available is full hook up (with 50/30 electric, water, and sewer), BBQ, trash, and Mt. Views. Pets welcome, especially if they play with Indy the border collie. 

We are located with in a short drive to beaches, boating, water sports rentals, kayaking, hiking, fishing, off roading, and Mt. Lassen National Park.

Websters Farm

My dad bought the farm in 1974 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th. Alot of loss but hopefully i can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests.

Our farm is 3miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it fixed asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with solar lights and does not flush, there is shavings to drop when done. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5, 6 and 1 are usable sadly.

6 miles of roads on the property to hike, bike on so bring your Mtn bike and explore this magical property.

With 900 feet elevation change throughout the land makes for very dramatic views but makes for an exerting 30min hike down the canyon so not appropriate for people with low mobility. Come prepared for a rugged but exclusive experience. 

When it's to busy at the Bridgeport state parks, keep going 2 miles and come here.

This really is a Yuba lover's Shangri-La.

Stay in one of our 3 teak wood Bali huts, bring your Sprinter van or pitch a tent in one our our numerous scattered camping spots by the big meadow. 

This is dry camping so bring water and your kitchen. A porta party is provided near the yurt. Be mindful of poison oak and please dive 10mph on the gravel road to keep dust down for my neighbors and enjoy the only privets south yuba river access in Hipcamp responsibly. 

Pack out what you lack in and absolutely no open fire on the property. Propane grill are fine.

Ancestors of Maidu people lived here long ago. European settlers arrived and took control of the area. In recent history, a multi-cultural group of community members formed the Konkow Partnership to attempt to hold, steward, and preserve the wilderness that survives here. Congratulations Campers! &nbsp;The campground is reopened after the last couple of years of wild fires and tough winters. We are reopened even as repairs and upgrades are being made. Thank you to all visitors who love this place for your patience as we continue to improve the features of the Campground. Stay tuned for progress reports. We hope to see you real soon.&nbsp;Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of&nbsp;mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering&nbsp;wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station.&nbsp;Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more.&nbsp;Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results.  There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

We were able to ride our mountain bikes around the large property. The property was huge and had plenty of space to roam.

FullCircle Florals Flower Farm

We are a working you-pick flower farm also offering u-pick fruit in season, hoping to soon offer veggies and slowing starting our nursery space. Easily accessible from Highway 99 near the quaint little town of Vina. 

Off the beaten path, on the skirts of the Vina plains, our property runs along a seasonal creek (slough) and has epic views of the sunset. Enjoy the property for hiking, quite morning bird watching and your morning cup of coffee in the serenity of the farm. We have a plethora of wildlife that occupies our acreage. Keep you eyes peeled for foxes, hawks, bunnies and the occasional otter, deer or mountain lion. 

The town of Vina is home to an award winning Winery at the Monastery just down the street. If you stay Thursday-Sunday you can enjoy the delicious food from the famed Lassen Steakhouse also, just down the street, undergoing some construction currently so check for details online or send us a message. Though both are only a few miles away, our property will have you feeling like you've escaped it all due to it's location, nestled down Division lane. 

We are popular with the locals for a quiet and beautiful setting to capture gorgeous portraits. We are often visited by local artisans and musicians whose wares and stylings add to the vibe here at the farm. 

If you love star gazing or night sky photography, you will definitely love it out here! Bring your tripod and enjoy capturing our beautiful night sky with very little light pollution. 

Our property has a varied amount of camps spot based on the season/conditions. It is vastly natural, rustic and has a vibe you just have to visit to understand. We are so happy to host guests to experience this special area for themselves.

Located just 5 minutes from the Sutter Basin, home to the Sutter Buttes – the smallest mountain range in the nation – Lovey's Landing is known for its exquisite sunsets and great fishing in the Sacramento River.

WILDLIFE PARADISE 

Wildlife and waterfowl are abundant here. In fact, the area is a migratory capital for ducks, geese & egrets. Farmlands are everywhere as well as orchards, (we are located in farmland, so you may hear nearby farm equipment or irrigation pumps — these are part of the surrounding landscape and are not part of our property.) ponds, marsh, creeks & sometimes winter puddles. Tall oaks, black walnuts, cottonwoods, and willows offer their timeless beauty and shade. Summer climate brings blue skies & warm daily temperatures of 85-105 degrees with cooler evenings. Color paints a pretty spring with orchard blossoms & wildflowers, and fall arrives with autumn brilliance. Winter skies fill with snow geese creating a most spectacular view. Bring your camera!

FANTASTIC FISHING

Can you say BIG FISH? Striped bass, sturgeon, shad, king salmon, and catfish. have all been caught near Lovey's. Check out the photos of some of our favorite people and their fish. While fishing isn’t available directly from the property, the river offers fantastic opportunities for those who want to cast a line nearby.

Getting There
Property is located ~9 miles down a dirt road in the bottom of a canyon with the North Fork of the Feather River at the bottom of it. Normal sedans should be OK getting down to the property if you drive slowly and are careful. Travel trailers are also fine but you should be cautious taking anything larger than 30 feet. Once you start down the road there is no place to turn around until you are at the bottom of the canyon.

* There is no cellular reception at the property.
* I have used Starlink here in the past and it works great.
* A fire in 2021 burned much of the tree coverage. Campsite 1 has very little tree coverage. Campsite 2 is nestled among trees.
* The property used to be an operating gold mine. There is old equipment onsite. DO NOT climb or touch any of the old equipment!

Jones Bar Farm

Jones Bar Farm is a quiet little seven acre hobby farm at the end of the paved section of Jones Bar Rd in Nevada City, CA. We have 4 alpacas and about a dozen chickens, who free-range all over the farm. 

The farm is perched near the edge of the South Yuba River canyon at about 2100 ft elevation. We are "above the fog, and below the snow (usually)." Summers are hot and dry here. Daytime temps in July and August are typically in the 90s, and night time temps are in the 70s. Spring and Fall are our favorite seasons.

Camping here is a semi-primitive experience, since there is no bathroom, and no garbage service. There is, however, potable water, and the campsites are easy to access and relatively flat.

Past our property, the unpaved, and very rough, section of Jones Bar Rd continues down into the South Yuba River canyon for about 2 miles, to a lovely swimming hole. Bicycling and hiking are very popular activities in this area.

If you are bringing your dog with you on your travels, you will want to be aware of the many unpleasant sticker weeds that are prevalent everywhere around here. Foxtails, filaree, and hitch-hiker weeds will all find their way into your dog’s fur. 

The farm is about 6 miles from both Nevada City and Grass Valley. Both towns have lively and interesting down-towns with good shopping and restaurants.

Our love affair with wine began in the late ’90s, surrounded by the vineyards of Sonoma County. The tasting rooms, the people, the passion—it was contagious. Alyse found herself working for a boutique winery owned by Korbel, gaining an inside look at the magic behind the bottle. Inspired, we began dreaming of our own place—a vineyard built from the ground up with family, heart, and hard work.
In 2002, we found that perfect piece of land. Set at 800 feet elevation with rolling hills, majestic oaks, and wide open skies, we planted our first acre of Zinfandel in 2005 and officially opened Hickman Family Vineyards to the public on Mother’s Day 2011. Since then, our family—kids included—has been hands-on with every aspect of the vineyard, winery, and tasting room.
Now, we’re excited to share that experience with you. Our campsite offers a peaceful retreat in the Sierra Foothills, just a short drive from three nearby lakes and under star-filled skies free of city lights. Come relax, sip wine, and soak up the quiet beauty of our land. Whether you're here for the wine, the view, or the warm family welcome—you’ll find all three waiting for you.

Nestled on 14 acres, our family farm offers a unique camping experience where you and your children can embrace the freedom to run and explore. Corning Oaks

This particular property has been in the family for four generations now.
 It was in the past a producing walnut orchard that is now past its prime.
 The orchard is now home to a couple of horses and few wild turkeys.
 The property location is great for anyone traveling up or down Interstate 5 as we are located about two miles east of the interstate.
 The Sacramento River is five miles to the east and the Rolling Hills Casino is not too far away.
 The city of Chico is about 20 minutes away to the south and Lassen National Park and Shasta Lake are not too far north of the property.
 The site is perfectly located for numerous day long adventures.

Bring your self contained RV or Camper to a place that is an easy on and off stay near Interstate 5 and just south of the town of Corning.&nbsp; Your space is near a couple of huge valley oak trees and a pasture in an older walnut orchard.&nbsp; You will be the only camper on the property.
