It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. She generously allowed us to use her land as a filming location for our short film, and she was nothing but kind, communicative, and accommodating throughout the entire process. She made everything easy and stress-free, which meant so much to our small production team. The property itself was beautiful and exactly what we needed. Serina's cabin near Joshua Tree was so cozy. My sister and I enjoyed our stay - taking full advantage of the deck to watch sunrise and sunset and the hot tub for nightly stargazing. A large shower and basic amenities provided. Would definitely recommend a stay at this place. One note of caution is that we got lost and there are some really rough unpaved "roads" in this area with no lighting so definitely get good directions from the host and probably best to have a high clearance/4 wheel drive vehicle and arrive during daylight.

Weekend Trip to BASECAMP Joshua Tree

This campground is in a convenient location, right in town but just off the main drag. There is shopping nearby and easy access to Joshua Tree National Park. We are traveling during the winter so stayed 3 nights in January 2026. We were fortunate that the weather was not too chilly but did get down to about 39 most nights and bright, beautiful, sunny days around 60 for daytime exploring. The sites were pretty level which is always nice with hookups conveniently located for water, sewer and 30 amp electrical. There was room for our Jeep Wagoneer L to park as well as plenty of room to use the portable wood fire place that they provided. It was quiet with great views right from the campsite! We would definitely come back and stay again if our travels bring us back to this location. While we are set up for boon docking with ample batteries and solar, we are finding it much more enjoyable i.e. quiet to be in campgrounds with electricity so people are not running generators all night long. Too funny really. We're traveling from ME to FL to CA and this was one of many spectacular stops along the way.

This little cabin is great and Serina is very responsive. It was our home base for excursions into Jericho Tree National Park. Very secluded with no road noise or close neighbors and great for stargazing. We were glad to have rented an AWD SUV to navigate the unpaved roads.

I absolutely adore this little cabin. It’s cozy, the energy is clean and the view is amazing. My stay was so quiet and peaceful. The only noise I heard was rain on the roof and the occasional coyote. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was so cute!

Had the best time staying at Coyote Hideaway! The sunrises, sunsets and stargazing were the best part. The property is still close to town while giving the illusion of being far away and isolated. We stayed on a new moon and had the most stunning clear view of the sky. The cabin was clean and cozy and had really neat art! The hot tub was cool and modern with led lights! I would definitely come back! Thanks for an amazing stay!

This property was an amazing retreat and close to Joshua Tree. Waking up in the morning to the amazing sunrise with a view over the desert was truly special. We enjoyed the provided tea and coffee as well as the warm shower in the winter. The hot tub also had a great view and was large enough for 6-8 people. The only thing I'd caution is that the dirt road to the property especially at the end is a bit steep and rocky but doable with any type of vehicle with a bit of clearance.

Our family absolutely LOVED this private home-away-from-home! It was such a gift to go back to these cabins (we booked both), after our days of exploring Joshua Tree and Pioneer Town. Family favorite: Stargazing from the hot tub. My favorite: Quiet morning coffee on the deck with the sunrise. We love camping in JT, but now we are spoiled with this incredible privacy and sanctuary from the crowds. It's so quiet that you can hear every animal out there... coyotes, crows, and the early morning owls. We will definitely be going back!
