Guest access Guests have access to the vegetable gardens and greenhouses for cooking tasty meals. In the summer we grow an abundance of tomatoes, summer squash, green beans, broccoli, peppers, and some melons. In the winter, our upper greenhouse grows a variety of greens-- lettuce, spinach, kale, and chard. Other things to note Check in and check out times are flexible. A historic farmstead in the high desert with an 80-year-old heritage apple orchard, pond, dry land cliff, and large trees. Incredible sunset views, dark skies for star gazers, and only a 20 minute drive to the Mesa Verde Park entrance. This is a great stay for animal lovers: we have a flock of domestic geese, two alpacas, a very fluffy and friendly dog, a black curious cat, and a waddle of ducks who will all want to say hello at some point (don't worry, the geese are friendly). Enjoy visits from wild friends such as deer (including a rather impressive group of stags), hawks, and eagles. In the fall you can pick apples from the trees. In the summer, guests can enjoy cherries, plums, and apricots. There are a few camp spots to choose from on our property: in the orchard with views of Sleeping Ute Mtn, near the pond, or on top of our cliff (a bit of an adventure to bring your gear up, but you'll have some great views). Campers must have a self-contained system, no facilities are available at this time. Fires may not be possible depending on the area's current fire risk. Propane camp fire pits are A-ok. This is an animals-lovers location - there may be some noise from them.

We just ask that folks stay away from the private residence on site, which is well-marked. We love pets and kids but due to the Wildlife with a capital W (and the occasional skunk) with whom we share this land we must limit our guests to humans ages 8 and up. Southwest Colorado is a land of extremes. We get hot, cold and everything in between. The tents are canvas so we offer electric blankets and small space heaters for colder days, and fans for the warmer days. And in advance, we apologize for the high cleaning fee. When you're here you'll understand why with the large showerhouse and all its windows, the large canvas tents and big decks, etc.

A historic farmstead in the high desert with an 80-year-old heritage apple orchard, pond, dry land cliff, and large trees. Incredible sunset views, dark skies for star gazers, and only a 20 minute drive to the Mesa Verde Park entrance. This is a great stay for animal lovers: we have a flock of domestic geese, two alpacas, a very fluffy and friendly dog, a black curious cat, and a waddle of ducks who will all want to say hello at some point (don't worry, the geese are friendly). Enjoy visits from wild friends such as deer (including a rather impressive group of stags), hawks, and eagles. In the fall you can pick apples from the trees. In the summer, guests can enjoy cherries, plums, and apricots. It doesn’t take long after pulling off onto the road that leads to Kelly Place to notice that you are now on sacred grounds. We only spent 2 nights there, but that was enough to get the understanding that this was a place of uniquenesses that held a certain amount of powers. I’m yet uncertain how long it might take to come to grips with it what’s held there, but I’m very grateful for the time allotted and will soon return for a deeper connection. If you have a spiritual side to yourself and this comes up on your radar, by all means necessary book it and thank not only me later, but more importantly those that have taken the oath to keep this spirit alive and well. 5,000 ⭐️’s is the rating if possible. Loved it! A high open plain ringed with mountains: Mesa Verde and Ute close, Telluride, San Juans and Bears Ears on the horizon. Immaculately clean and generous kitchen and dining/hanging out areas. The tent/RV sites are very basic but the rest makes up. Great hosts, dark sky. Didn’t see inside the cabins but the hogan was lovely.

It is a remote space and you feel so small being surrounded by the mountains. Love this open, vast area that holds a space for people to be in nature safely. The kitchen is well stocked with goodies. Everything is a quick stroll away from the teepee. The bathroom has adorable art and quotes on the wall to brighten the space up. Our teepee was warm, spacious and cozy! It rained over night and listening to the rain hit the teepee was calming. Wish we were here for two nights, but we had a quick over night stay. Love this spot and would totally come back.

Very private tent site, incredible view of Cortez and the mountains in the distance. Nice for stargazing too. The tent sites were so private no one would know you were there. Nice rustic cg. The facilities were clean and maintained. Every possible kitchen appliance was available for your use. As a tent camper the elephant in the room was the road noise. I understand that's not something the owner can control but for some it could be a deal breaker - generally I was so tired from hiking it did not matter.

We enjoyed our stay. The Raven tipi was comfortable and spacious for three of us + gear. And to have the kitchen to use was fantastic! And the freezer & ice maker made our water situation for desert hiking so easy. Bathrooms were super clean. Shower building was good too. Rustic, and walled in, but open to the air. Chatting with folks from all parts of the US was a nice bonus too. And our second morning there, we were greeted by a raven perched on top of the tipi. Highly recommend. And if you walk the trails to the bathrooms at night using a headlamp, see if you can spot the sparkles on the ground.
