Pinetop Lakeside are within 10 minutes, Taylor and Snowflake are within 15 to 25 minutes. We hope you visit and continue to keep our environment clean and a chill spot to visit. Cheers! We also offer a few extras at check-out... We have our 4S free range, nest run eggs for $5.44/dozen. Start your trip off right with a bundle of our premium firewood. Mostly juniper, nicely dried and bagged. Just remind us at check-in with your receipt. This is not the cheap wood they sell at the gas station. Please always check for our fire bans that are regulated by the county and state. Always have a bucket of water next to your campfire and make sure it's completely out before you leave it. In November 2015 I visited my good friends Brad and Joya who had recently purchased 40 acres outside of Show Low, Arizona and moved to the property. I instantly fell in love with the land. The quiet open spaces, the abundant junipers and the vistas looking up to the White Mountains of Arizona. Fortunately there was forty acres for sale that I bought in the winter of 2016. Since then my partners and I expanded by buying an adjacent 60 acres for a total of 100 acres. I have always been interested in sustainable off-the-grid living. Fortunately for that dream there were no services to the property so we started planning what we needed to live comfortably on the Land. The moto Food, Water, Shelter came to me. With that in mind our first purchase was a 28' by 40' green house, and then came our well. Next we purchased a 600 sq. foot one bedroom manufactured home which we now use as our office and check in point. For power we have a 8.5 kw solar system that gives power to the house. With the wide open spaces it is tranquil not having power lines on the property.We wanted to grow a cash crop that was consistent with our theme. We found that one of the largest Lavender Farms in the country, Red Rock Lavender is 30 miles from us. We arranged to buy Lavender from them, and in the Summer of 2017 planted over 4000 plants in the shape of two mandalas. Once the plants are mature we plan to produce our own line of Lavender products. Our goal of having guests camp on our Land is to share our ideas of sustainable living and the abundant natural resources on and around our property. Grocery stores 14 miles away. There is a park nearby that has a little water park where children can play. The property is desert so it has desert vegetation. Nothing but sky and land. There are no driveways or pavement. The land is untouched and has nothing on it but trees and dirt and a few cow pies from cattle that roam the land freely. You will be parking, walking and driving on bumpy, raw and organic land. There are paved streets to get to the property but none within maybe 7 miles to the property. There are no street lights, just the sun and moon for light in the sky. Everything is dirt and trees. This camping is for those who are rogue and love off grid. Not for the faint heart camping. If you love 100% organic land, this is for you. There are no rv hook-ups or water provided or trash cans. Generators are acceptable from 10 am to 6 pm. Park you rv anywhere on the land. Please note, that we'll allow fires when the wind subsides, but do come prepared with your own wood. This ensures you can bask in the warmth of the campfire under the vast, star-studded skies. Painted Desert Ranger Cabin

ATTENTION: If you do not have a lifted, high-clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle with locking differentials, and prepared for self-rescue with a winch, shovel, and rigging DO NOT BOOK THIS CABIN. The cabin sits at the end of an unmaintained, unimproved, dirt road that becomes impassible during winter snow events and summer monsoon rains! The Painted Desert Ranger Cabin is a backcountry, off grid cabin built by Ranger Ross in 2011. Ranger Ross lived in the cabin while he worked as a resource protection ranger at the Petrified Forest National Park. The ranger cabin is a rustic off grid cabin that offers no amenities. There is no concierge, room service, or continental breakfast. There is no linen service or fancy little bottles of shampoo. It does however, offer beautiful views of the Painted Dessert wilderness, quiet serenity, and amazing star gazing opportunities. All from the comfort of a cozy one room cabin with a queen size bed and a flush toilet. The ranger cabin sits on the border of the north wilderness area of the Petrified Forest National Park. There are great hiking and exploration opportunities right out the back door of the cabin.

Amenities include a ready to use 4 M canvas bell tent with full size mattress, two pillows, and bed sheets. There are two folding chairs and a small folding table inside. Also features a cozy hammock and a port-john (outhouse toilet). Bring your own water and food. You are also welcome to bring your own RV, Camper, Truck, and camping gear. Generators are allowed. This site has a total of three tents on it, spaced several hundred feet apart for privacy. Guests love it here: "What a great base camp for visiting the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert! The bed was very comfortable and we really appreciated the solar-powered light for nighttime reading. The stars - and Milky Way - were as advertised. Over all, an A-plus experience."
