- cattle, burros, coyotes are the main wildlife out here and you very well may hear them / see them at night. Don't leave your food out!
IMPORTANT WARNING:
- There can be rattlesnakes in the desert so please be careful and bring an anti-venom epi-pen if you can afford one in case you get bit by a rattlesnake. Be very cautious when lifting or moving anything, as there may be a rattlesnake hiding underneath. The Kingman Hospital is a 15 minute drive from the property.
- some of the neighbors are not very friendly because they want to be left alone. They like their privacy! so please be respectful of them, keep your distance and enjoy the wild wide open!

Directions: from Kingman: head south on i-40 for 13 minutes to Griffith exit. take Griffith exit.
Turn right onto Griffith Road and drive for 0.4 mile
Turn Right on Apache Rd and drive for 1.4 miles to Navajo Rd (unmarked dirt road).
Turn left onto Navajo Rd and drive for 0.74 miles to Yava Rd (unmarked dirt road)
Turn Right onto Yava Rd and drive for 0.17 mile and turn left onto the property!
Property is easiest to find during daylight hours and highly recommend a vehicle with high clearance and 4WD as the road is very rough. jagged rocks and loose sandy sections.
Please pack out all your garbage!! Lets be respectful campers and leave the sites looking their best for the next campers!
WILD ANIMALS:
- cattle, burros, coyotes are the main wildlife out here and you very well may hear them / see them at night. Don't leave your food out!
IMPORTANT WARNING:
- There can be rattlesnakes in the desert so please be careful and bring an anti-venom epi-pen if you can afford one in case you get bit by a rattlesnake. Be very cautious when lifting or moving anything, as there may be a rattlesnake hiding underneath. The Kingman Hospital is a 15 minute drive from the property.
- some of the neighbors are not very friendly because they want to be left alone. They like their privacy! so please be respectful of them, keep your distance and enjoy the wild wide open!

My friend and I tent camped here for a couple nights. It was well maintained and gorgeous! Great spot for sunrise, sunset, and star gazing.
We enjoyed all the little trails. The bathroom was super clean and comfortable to use. Abi was very helpful when providing directions to the site and and other times as well. The last bit of the trek to the site has washboard roads. We took our time and were fine getting there. It did make us want to just stay at the site rather than go back to the main road to find hiking and other things. Great spot to just be!

If I could give Abi a million stars for hosting an amazing property, I would! Very well kept, amazing views (desert land/plants, sunset, night sky, sunrise, all of it!), beautiful artwork and mini trails, basically more than anyone can ask for at a campsite. My husband, dogs and I enjoyed camping here so much we plan to visit again. It was nice that the whole area was to ourselves, it felt very private and safe. Would definitely recommend!

Such a special spot. I slept out under the desert stars in complete solitude (except for the company of jackrabbits and Joshua Trees). Place has vibey but not excessive artistic touches—perfectly representative of the environment. Good spot to camp and have a small fire. I really enjoyed my stay!

Oh my goodness this place! It was heaven! You need to be comfortable being remote because it really is just you. But the stars are so beautiful, the sunset was stunning and there is something so special about the peace it brings being so secluded. Roads are pretty rough getting to the camp but worth every bump aha.

The spot is good for a quick stay over. I definitely recommend the Camp host to leave a burn barrel or something where people can put their trash because some people don’t know how to pack the trash out. We drove in at the dark of night. If you read and follow the provided instructions to the site you shouldn’t have a problem. You do have to trust the process at night as the last few turns you are just out in the middle of a field and the roads are not well established. Can hear the humming of the power plant until late in the night once it goes off.

Making the trip along Route 66 and wanted a camp ground and found this super private property with picnic table, fire pit and fun art sculptures! My wife and the dogs loved roaming the property and exploring around! The time we went provided a beautiful purple sunset, did have alittle bit of rain but that didn’t stop us! Very much recommend this inexpensive, get away camp site! Thank you!

Where do I start… First off, Jen was a fantastic host who was super accommodating. I can’t describe how amazing her hospitality was even during the end of the season. I truly believe in in her mission for spiritual healing in nature, especially those who suffer from PTSD. Second, the property is amazing that is rich in history. There’s so much to do and see without the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday crowds. It is perfect for those who are trying to get away from the busyness of life even just for a couple days. The views were breathtaking. The hiking was fantastic and the lake was super close. Third, then the night sky at this property is absolutely stunning. Looking up at the stars never seen more clear than any picture book or video. My favorite part was the silence of the area during the night. It was the same as or better than a hyperbaric chamber. This was absolutely what I was looking for to reset my mindset after the memorial Day weekend. I absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

I had the best time camping at Almo Lake. The campground was beautiful, had a bathroom, shower, kitchen area. It had it all. I did tent camping but I’ll be back with cooler temps and I plan to stay in the clamping tent. They are nice! I had dinner catered 2 nights and the food was delicious! I rented a kayak 2 days and the lake was so peaceful. I saw lots of wildlife. I def rec this camp ground and will be back! Thanks for an amazing solo camping trip ❤️

This is the most cared for hipcamp I've ever stayed at. The attention to detail was amazing, the decorations are beautiful and unique. Abi is so friendly as well, very communicative and willing to help with any issues. This is my favorite hipcamp and I definitely plan on returning to soak up some more of that Mojave Magic ✌️❤️🦊

We tent camped for 3 nights and it was absolutely beautiful! It was pretty hot during the days so definitely recommend bringing extra sun shades / canopy’s. Very quiet and secluded which we loved. The sunsets and stars were amazing. Would highly recommend!

Unfortunately I had to cancel on very short notice due to an emergency. I was very clear I did not expect a refund from Jen, and I still don’t because she is not responsible nor should she be penalized for something neither of us could control. That being said, the lead up to my stay she answered all my questions and provided a lot of information that would have made my stay very good I think. So I will rebook once all is settled.

Beautiful, charming campgrounds. Albeit feeling like “the middle of nowhere” once you brave the rumble of the dirt road you’re greeted by lit Joshua trees and a lovely common area. It was so quiet! Toilet is clean, with a lovely view. Will certainly book again if I’m ever needing a place while cruising the 40.
