There are a couple of level spots for your tents, as well as a nice rock fire pit for you to use and there is an outhouse on the site. The pond hasn't yet been stocked with fish, but hopefully soon it will have more than just frogs. But for now the frogs provide great music. This is a rustic campsite, with rocks, roots, and steep terrain. Please bring your own camping gear, including chairs, and please take your trash with you. There is plenty of privacy, even though you are right near a public road that has very little traffic. There are no other campsites nearby and the owner lives 1/2 mile away. Recreation nearby includes Canoeing/kayaking on both the Elk River and Richland creek (shuttles can usually be arranged), Stillhouse Hollow Falls (beautiful waterfall hiking), Trail of Tears Interpretive Center, and Big Creek Winery.

Our fist time we tent camped at Bates farms. It was the perfect place and beautiful scenery all around. The second stay was a 10 day Rv camping. My spot i needed electricity hook up. I was close to restrooms, shower house, washer and dryer also ice was available there was an ice machine. My stay was very convenient close to where I needed to be. If you love to walk and explore like I do you want be disappointed. Beautiful place and nature all around.
The host are wonderful helping with my stay.

Chris is great however due to his schedule we did not meet him until the last day on our way out. He was still readily available for all my questions and gave great info on where to go nearby! The site was nice and clean we did do a little hiking to the cave but mostly just slept there. We had everything we needed.

Weekend Trip to Kahu Farm
What an amazing stay. We spent most of our first day exploring the surrounding area and left out early the next day to continue our trip, but would love to come back when we're able to spend more time enjoying the peaceful and beautiful nature. Also, to spend more time with the pups and meet all the other animals:)
The cool and laid back evening in the comfy woven chairs descending into music and laughter in a campsite all to ourselves... Soothed my Soul! Then falling asleep to the harmonious frogs and crickets... divine!

Overnight stay but hosts were very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. Had the 30amp service/water needed and a nice view while staying. Shower/restroom facilities were clean and they offer some snacks and drinks in their secure bldg. If your into archery they have a nice extensive range w/numerous 3d targets throughout.
I would stop by again if my travels took me though that area again.

Weekend Trip to Rock Creek Retreat & Ventures
To say my fiancé and I really enjoyed ourselves, is an understatement!! We kayak and do remote primitive camping on the side of rivers 1-2 every summer. This was a genuine relaxing vacation compared to those trips. We showed up on a Friday and immediately explored the water while we let the air run in our dome to cool it down a little. Some parts of the creek are knee deep but for the most part it’s pretty shallow. Which was perfect for us! We did experience thunderstorms, but it was actually very soothing!! Hated we couldn’t do a fire the first night but made the most of it with sandwiches and snacks! The next day we spent all day down in the creek. We took our chairs that came with the dome and placed them in the deepest part of the creek. That was SO relaxing! We loved it! Sat for hours! When we got hungry we made a fire and cooked some hotdogs! The table and chairs inside the dome were great to eat at and cool down with the fan in front of us before going back down to the water. We used the griddle for dinner to cook our bacon and burgers, while we used the attached rack in the fire pit to cook our canned baked beans and potatoes! We ate great!! The bed was very comfortable for us, we aren’t that picky since we usually are on the ground. The power bank was a great plus and came in handy when we were stuck inside from the rain. We talked the whole night about coming back with friends and family! We really really enjoyed ourselves and will be back! Thank you, Kara!

This was our second stay here, and was just what we needed to escape Nashville for a night.
The site is next to a small pond and was just as enjoyable as we remembered. We expected mosquitoes because of the water, but they were surprisingly minimal all weekend. We did get a few tiny ticks.
The biggest change since our last visit is the trees. They’ve leafed out enough that getting a hammock hung is much more difficult now. I ended up using my Haven XL stand instead, so I wouldn’t consider this site hammock friendly anymore unless you don’t mind spending time looking for a workable hang.
It was hot and humid during our stay, but the frogs made up for it once evening came. I even put my action camera in the pond hoping to capture some underwater wildlife. No fish or turtles, but the tannin-colored water was incredibly clear.
We’ll definitely be back. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a quiet weekend surrounded by nature.

We enjoyed our time at the campsite. It is right off their driveway but still private enough. There is a creek close enough that you can hear the rush. Site was clean and spacious. Bathroom area was decent as well. In my experience it was about 20 minutes from a gas station, no cell service but you can get service at a spot about 5 min up the road. Area is very rural but beautiful. Overall would recommend!

We had a great time at Bama Camp! It is a clean, well-cared for campground. Steve is a great host- he even brought us firewood for a 2nd night campfire. This was a quick trip for us, but we plan to return for more exploring!

3 nights at Kahu Farm
Lora and Dave were amazing. Lora's crafted "bug brew" works great for fleas and ticks. The campsite was well maintained and private, located in a picturesque woodland setting. Highly recommend.
