Camp sites located behind old Homestead from 1940s once a tobacco and cotton farm. The house on the property is in early stages of being rebuilt to be saved as a local landmark.

Tent 2 is slightly smaller than tent one but there is enough room for 2-3 tents and numerous hammocks. Beautiful rock formations and peaceful spring fed creek. Bordering Jackson’s military rd. Near Dismals canyon and bear creek spillway with class 2 rapids as well as other peaceful creek floats. 5 public lakes with swimming beaches/boat launches within 30 min drive. 15 min drive to nearest grocery store. Plenty of parking available but the best spots are a short hike away. I can haul your gear in for you. Site 3 is the smallest designated site it has enough flat ground for a small tent and a couple of hammocks within 20 feet or so. it is at the bottom of the hill near the creek and right on top of the first waterfall. A small moveable firepit will be provided. Beautiful rock formations and peaceful spring fed creek. Bordering Jackson’s military rd. Near Dismals canyon and bear creek spillway with class 2 rapids as well as other peaceful creek floats. 5 public lakes with swimming beaches/boat launches within 30 min drive. 15 min drive to nearest grocery store. What an absolute gem! Chris and Mary are so sweet and helpful! They are doing an amazing job at building a lovely campground. Soooo many glow worms in the cave!! The outdoor shower is to die for!!! Secluded, safe and serene. I will definitely stay again when back in the area!! Thanks Chris and Mary!!!

We had an amazing experience here! The hosts were friendly and made our stay comfortable. There was chopped firewood ready at our campsite and a firepit. We enjoyed hanging by the spring and saw the glow worms on their property in the cave. I look forward to our next visit here!

We had a wonderful time at Chris’ land. It was just remote enough for us. There was a little creek nearby, enough wood, and wonderful valleys to play in. There’s a trail to a bamboo stand. The kids loved playing around there. Definitely bring a car that can traverse backwoods. We spent Saturday at Cane Creek about thirty minutes away hiking and playing in the waterfalls. Chris was super nice and helpful.

Chris’s land was very secluded but easily accessible. We really enjoyed our two night stay. Very close to Dismal Canyons and a few miles from town in case you need anything. I would suggest taking water for drinking/cleaning up. I would definitely recommend and I am planning another trip soon.

Chris is an excellent host, great communication, friendly, and dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. We primitive camped on the side of a vally that was beautiful. It had a nice clean stream for water, a level area for our tent, a fire pit, and the mountain laurel was in bloom. We saw deer and there are even glow worms on the property, close to tent site two where we stayed. The trails and sites were marked well. A big thank you to Chris and his family for an enjoyable camp. God bless.

We weren’t on the actual tent spot. He took us a bit more off the road, which was good. The only issue we really had was the dogs barking all night long, all around us. In a tent, you hear everything.
