The Bunkhouse at Camp Infinite
1 site · Lodging12 acres · Ouse, TAS**Please note, due to the rugged nature of the property, children under the age of 10 aren't allowed. Thank you for your understanding. Located an hours drive North West of Hobart in the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders. Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, you can enjoy the sound of the calm flowing water and birdlife of the river. This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven - you only need to walk a few metres to get to the river's edge. Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. Please note - you must bring your own linen/sleeping bags and towels. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower. Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river! You're welcome to bring pets too.

Whether you're uncovering Australia's convict history at Port Arthur, hiking and mountain biking in the island's national parks, or fishing and kayaking at the beaches of the Tasman Peninsula or Bay of Fires—you're never far from a cabin rental in Tasmania. Tassie weather is notoriously changeable, so opting for a heated cabin means you can camp in the wilderness or explore the windswept coast through all four seasons. For a family vacation, there are several cabin parks with self-contained cabins located near cities like Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport, while private rentals include everything from quirky treehouses and tiny houses to luxury cottages. Perhaps rent a rustic cabin with bunk beds and electric heating within a short drive of Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, book a glamping cabin near Freycinet National Park, or escape to a log cabin in the woods on Bruny Island.
