Less than an hour from New Haven and Hartford, the campgrounds at Black Rock State Park provide a densely wooded oasis from Connecticut city life, chock-full of creature comforts for the novice camper or fisher (think potable water, toilets, and even a few cabin sites). Anglers and swimmers can shower off after a day at the adjacent Black Rock Lake, one of the state’s 11 regularly-restocked Trout Parks. In addition to the beach, campers will also find hiking trails that connect to nearby Mattatuck State Forest nearby. And after an activity-filled day, your group can gather around the fire pit and talk urban legends—we hear the park has a rich Native American tribal history.

The property is very spread out and there are 2 outhouses for all sites to use. Your pets are welcome too! Locally there are state parks with beaches, and state forest for trails and lakes, hiking and biking. Or you can just relax and enjoy the serenity! We offer an hot H2O outdoor shower here for the comfort of out clients. It is located on the back of main house in corner. Entrance through gate is marked. Also See map in photos. We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons. It can be pre-purchased for $12 per bundle on this site, or $10.00 cash here at farm. Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $5.00 per 1/2 dozen. Blankets and pillows only are provided, NO LINENS for cabin or trailer sites only. Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.

Both the Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming and Stonecrop Gardens are only about 8 minutes away. 15 minutes to the west, poised on the Hudson River is the historic colonial town of Cold Spring, with shopping, lovely restaurants, plenty of natural attractions and a picturesque riverfront. 30 minutes northwest is the more bustling hipster vibe of Beacon with coffee shops and live music venues, and 20 minutes southeast puts you in the heart of downtown Peekskill with Hudson Valley MOCA and the Paramount Theater. We offer a 1 night minimum, but reservations for 3 or more nights will receive a 10% refund after you reserve the site.
