It's the local watering hole on the mountain for boating, intertubing and swimming. At near 3000 feet elevation the views and sunsets are breathtaking from up here. Enjoy the surrounding deer, wildlife and various songbirds, or take an exhilarating walk on the Summitt with breathtaking views and fresh mountain air. Or lounge at your camp and choose a site to watch the sunset. The world renowned Skunk Train was named one of the top ten attractions in the United States by the New York Times. It runs from downtown Willits towards Ft. Bragg passing the world's largest Redwood tree. It is an open air steam locomotive. Check their website for different summer excursions including railbikes on warm summer nights. Guests of Ariana Acres receive 50% off. Ft. Bragg is an hour west on hwy 20 to the coast. A great day trip to the beach to stay cool, and explore Ft. Bragg. Redwood Skywalk at Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka is two hours north in Humboldt County. Ariana Acres is perfect for families, lovers and their pets. Anyone traveling up and down the 101 we are 4 minutes to the hwy and 6 minutes to downtown Willits. We offer 1 night stays ideal for weary travelers just passing through. For a less rugged experience the RV Park at Ridgewood Ranch has bathroom and shower facilities for $5. They are our direct neighbor to the south and home to the famous White Fallow deer. When you go for a shower, tour the ranch. Final resting place of Seabiscuit. So rich in history and so much to do, or do nothing at all. BBQ on the grill, or sizzle on the griddle. Enjoy a great time off grid in the country in sunny northern California. Ariana Acres is a wellness resort in the making. We are still in development, and while we have worked to develop each site, we are still in the process of getting the water system in place for each site to have running water, a shower and flushing toilets. For now we have a local spring less than a mile away guests can rinse off and refill jugs for free. Nothing better than camping under the stars on these gorgeous summer nights. Happy trails 👣

Butterfly Breathe. Slow way down. Enjoy. Please read this Description in entirety. We are so delighted to share this spot with you. This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. This beautiful primary forest and nature reserve is located on the west slopes of Dry Creek Valley, with spectacular views overlooking vineyards and rolling hills. Come and enjoy a low-impact elevated camping experience, peaceful hikes, and nearby wineries (some within walking distance). You will be in a peaceful forest paradise, while still enjoying the convenience of 60 wineries less than 12 minutes away, Healdsburg Plaza and Lake Sonoma only 15 minutes away, and Russian River adventures, Santa Rosa movie theaters, and scores of restaurants within a 10 to 25-minute drive. The forest is on the natural frontier between coastal rainforest and inland forest. You will see redwood fairy rings and fallen redwoods indicating that rainforest covered the property centuries ago. Inland forest crept in at least 150 years ago when some of the magnificent, moss-covered oaks first sprouted. The biggest rainforest foothold is a grove of old-growth Douglas Firs in the northwest corner of the forest. We don't clear or level campsites, but rather, we offer you the unique opportunity to enjoy a stay in a suspended treenet tipi or in the most comfortable all-weather hammock camping setup available. In this same forest-healing spirit, paths to the campsites follow deer trails and fallen redwoods to minimize the impact on vegetation and underground mycelium networks. In managing the forest, we only cut invasive trees or native trees that have died. The result is that you get the increasingly rare experience of a forest that has never been logged and where dead trees were left to feed hundreds of species of fungi. We are so happy to be able to share the sights and sounds and smells of this magnificent forest with you. Camping made easy with a FULLY OUTFITTED OPEN AIR OUTDOOR KITCHEN and HOT SHOWERS (not available in the coldest times of the year when pipes freeze). Kitchen includes hot water sinks, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, espresso machine, coffee grinder and maker, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, knives, cutting boards, etc. If there's something you need and can't find it, we'll bring it out from our kitchen in the house. ALL YOU NEED TO BRING FOR MEALS IS THE FOOD. Limited grocery shopping in our little town; it's good to shop ahead. During June- August, fires MIGHT be allowed in the communal fire pit near the kitchen. You must ask the host!, No fires at your campsite June- August, Fires during cooler months are often allowed at your campsite, but you must ask the host if current conditions allow Fire MUST be completely extinguished before you go to sleep at night. Instructions are printed and at at each site as well as at the communal firepit. Firewood available for purchase. SMOKERS, please be super careful! Outlets to CHARGE YOUR PHONE and DEVICES at the Stage and in the kitchen. Fruit trees and gardens dot the property. Feel free to pick a piece of fruit. We almost always have organic fresh eggs from the chickens for sale, The Camp Store has a variety of items such as jam, organic veggies, flowers, etc. See the list on the fridge. We're in a wooded country neighborhood where lots of folks have dogs, so you might hear some barking and see some neighbors. Very occasionally we see a dog off leash. We ask that you keep your dogs on leash at all times, as we have cats and chickens. We encourage you to enjoy the forest, but do be aware that there is poison oak. If you don't know what it looks like we can show you. Arrive anytime after 1pm. Check out is at noon, but you can often stay later if we don't have other campers arriving to your site. If your plans change, just let us know at least 24 hours before check-in and you'll get a full refund.

Otter Valley Farm sits in a sunny valley cradled by redwood forest. Across the valley from camp we run a small farm with a menagerie of animals. In spring and summer, we enjoy many warm sunny days, with occasional foggy mornings. Relax at camp, in the meadow or enjoy many nearby activities for kids and adults alike. Just 2.5 hours north of the Bay Area, the farm is near many hiking trails amongst the world's tallest trees. We are a 30 min drive to the town of Mendocino and the treasures of the North Coast, including majestic beaches, fresh fish, whale watching, paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, hiking, hot springs etc. A drive of equal distance inland will take you to Anderson Valley, home of Hendy Woods State Park and a mecca for cider and wine tasting. Meadow Car Camp: Park a car or bring your van, RV, camper, or trailer to this serene spot in the open sunny meadow next to the redwoods. RV’s and campers must be self-sufficient. No hookups available and no generators allowed. Redwood Walk-In Tent Sites: Pitch your tent in the serenity of the towering redwoods looking out onto the sunny peaceful meadow. Redwood camp is situated in a grove of redwoods containing multiple tent sites. These are walk-in sites with easy unloading, no more than 50 feet from your car. Tent campers must park in the parking area between the sign board and porta-potty. There is a communal area for all campers with a water spigot, picnic table/bear box, and porta-potty near our info signboard and parking area. Be advised that this is a working farm and there is an echo in the valley. While it is peacefully quiet most of the time, you may hear some daytime farm activity. We also have a guard dog who moves around with our flock of sheep and goats who barks regularly after dark and when she perceives a potential predator. **There is no cell service on or within 15 minutes of our property. Wifi and a landline phone are available to campers in case of emergencies. **Pets must be kept on a leash at all times! For the safety of everyone including your pets, our dogs, and the various livestock on the farm, we can't allow any pets off leash.

I have been camping at Letts Lake for 20 years and going up there last weekend was tough. It was the first time it's been opened since the Ranch/Mendocino Complex fire in 2018. Even though I knew it was burned badly, I was still shocked to see it in person. The trees in the campgrounds were mostly saved but the ones around the lake didn't fare so well. The lake was still clear, refreshing and beautiful.

So I tried to find my way there last year and almost got my giant 4x4 trapped in a creek that was crossing the road in! It's a fairly rigorous National Forest road...if you aren't used to backcountry driving, make sure you bring a 4wd with high clearance...and make sure you check the ranger station at the park entrance to check road closures (I didn't, hence the creek scare.) I ended up driving all the way back home after that, finding no camping at nearby Lake Mendocino! Learn from my stupid mistakes :D

While Lett's lake is quite picturesque, the drive there from SF is 3.5 hours IF you don't hit traffic or stop to get gas or something to eat. Coupled with the fact that you can't make reservations and potentially not getting a spot, it's tough to commit to making the trip. The nearest store is 45 minutes away and is a small general store. You can get ice and water if you don't have enough. Someone said there was blue-green algae in the lake this year. Not sure if that's true or not but I did hear that from another camper.

This place is cool if you can snag a spot. The best tip is to pull into the fist open spot you see because they fill up fast on the weekends. Wake up early and take a short 1.2 mile hike around the lake. There are a few rope swings here and there so go find them. The sites on the lake are nice, but there are a few loops so keep your eye out for a spot. The vault toilets were a little smelly and hopefully your spot isn't super close to one. It's $12 per night. There are no motorized boats allowed on the lake.

My family loves to come here to camp, a first come first serve facility with a lake for swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating. Highly recommend!

Lett's Lake is a beautiful lake chuck full of feisty largemouth bass right on the edge of the Mendocino National Forrest (MNF). Spring camping is nice, bug free, though too cold to swim, and summer camping though more buggy with mosquitos and yellow jackets lends itself to the full lakefront camping experience. My favorite trip is to enter MNF from stonyford, spend 2 nights at Lett's Lake with my little inflatable boat, rod, and soft plastics, then drive out on m10 across bear creek to M1 then down to Upper Lake for lunch at the Blue Wing Saloon.
