Camp Chester provides a delightful escape for families and their furry companions, with a welcoming atmosphere and ample space for dogs to roam safely. Guests appreciate the peaceful surroundings and privacy, while enjoying the well-marked trails and serene views. The site is thoughtfully equipped with all necessary amenities, including a propane fire pit, and a cozy camper that adds to the charm. However, campers should be mindful of ants during the day and limited hot water for baths, although a nice shower is always possible.

Amazing experience! Our 12 year old and both dogs had a wonderful time. Birdwatching in the early morning was relaxing, we even had a turkey hang out for a few hours.

Nice dog friendly, but quiet, place not too far from San Diego, with easy to walk trails perfect for our pooch and for us to stretch our legs without being overly strenuous. Beautiful views! We loved that Camp Chester was fenced in so that our 15 month old pup could fully enjoy herself on her first camping trip safely. Jackie the on-site camp host was so nice, just a lovely person. Propane fire pit was great! Only thing to watch out for are the ants, they are big and they bite and they are everywhere, even inside the trailer (keep your clothes & bedding inside your car during the day). Luckily they disappear at night. And don’t try to take a bath, the water heater is only big enough to fill the tub 1/4 full. But enough hot water to take a good shower.

It was a peaceful area to relax. I loved that it was fenced, so my dog would remain off leash!
