Brad and Ciana welcome you to the Santa Fe Treehouse Camp & Wilderness Preserve, managed by The Wilderness Institute. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. "BE A CAMPER CONSERVATIONIST"! Register for our nature education activities and resources lead by The Wilderness Institute (available for all of our guests). These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Tai Chi, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more! ([xxxxxxxx] There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day. This is a non-smoking, no candle facility.

The land is covered in juniper, piñon, and ponderosa pine, and various cactus plants. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the clear view of the celestial grandeur of the sun’s cycle or the brilliant show of stars in the night sky. Enjoy the birdsong and wind whistling through the trees when you stay in this 10' x 14' canvas tent. There are two single beds. Please bring your own linens towels and toiletries. There is no electricity inside the tent so also bring your own lantern. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). We have various other trails for you to explore as well...one being the closest access to Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse, Jambo Bobcat Bite and Cafe Fina. NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile dirt road with two steep hills and bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent site spend a comfortable night swaying in the tree branches under the stars as you listen to the sounds of the forest around you. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. No matter if you are a back sleeper, side sleeper or front sleeper the Tentsile Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent is made for you. Just a short minute walk from the Birdbath Communal Restrooms and showers and another minute to the Communal Cook and Dining area, this site offers easy access to all the comforts this camp has to offer. It is directly across from the Wilderness Center hang out area with comfy couch, charging station and a secondary kitchen area. ***Bring your own bedding, pillow, towel and toiletries. Enjoy the sounds of nature and the shadow dances of the passing clouds and birds when you stay in this Bell tent with an outside sitting area. There is a queen bed, double futon and single bed for your sleeping comfort. There is NO electricity inside the tent and the space is lit with a battery powered lantern. Cozy linens and towels are provided for you. Please bring your own toiletries. The land borders the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area with its extensive hiking trails and backpacking opportunities! You can enjoy dramatic views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost named peak of the Rocky Mountain's Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range from most of our camp sites. Explore our hiking trails including a short 20 minute walk to a creek and waterfall (last trail section is steep and the water flow is intermittent). Treehouse Camp is known for having the best access trail to the top of Shaggy Peak and its tremendous 360 degree views of the surrounding area! (Seasoned hikers only please.) Located just 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to the historic Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd Galleries, and the famous Santa Fe Opera, you are not far from much of what Santa Fe has to offer. And, three much loved restaurants, Harry's Road House, Jambo Bobcat Bite, and Cafe Fina, are just 15 minutes down the road! Forest Glade Group Camp is perfect for tent camping or sleeping out under the stars with your family or friends. There are 12 camp sites surrounding a central area, a shelter with picnic tables, a cook prep/stove table, and a large secure metal food box... all within your own private camping space. (Contact us for rental prices of cooking and camping equipment). There is one portable toilet right there and another about a minute away, and the Birdbath building with flush toilets, sinks, and showers is just a five minute walk from the Forest Glade Group Camp. If some of your party is NOT into camping, please check out our listings for Zen House, Exotic Serenity Yurt, Mustang Bunkhouse, Singing Nail Cabin, Pegasus, Tecolote Treehouses and Sunrise Treehouse sites all within a 5 minute walk or very short drive! NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile gravel road with two steep hills and some bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle. Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires. Please note that the group site is priced for 12 people. Additional adults (age 13 and up) are $25 per night with a recommended total of 32 people. Please only add all guests aged 13 years and up to your reservation. (Children 0-4 years old are free, 5-12 years old $12.50, 13 years and up $25.) To reserve the half-priced child fee please notify us directly and plan to pay by cash, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal when you arrive.) We are a non-smoking facility and open campfire restrictions may be in place. There is parking for 4 cars at the group site with additional parking spaces elsewhere on the land. Please consider carpooling! We recommend arriving before dusk. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop! Checkin is 4-8PM winter and spring and 4-9:45 summer and fall . The group site, access trails and campground road are minimally lit with solar lights. (Which makes for ultimate star viewing!) We suggest you bring personal flash lights. ***IMPORTANT: Due to the location of this site we ask that you arrive for checkin within the normal hours. Now, these treehouses are available for family and adult reservations to relive the childlike wonder of sleeping amidst the trees. TreeHouse Camp includes 156 acres of land bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. There are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). There are no curtains, heaters or air conditioning so please bring layers of clothes and bedding for your comfort. The Tecolote treehouses are slightly further from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse and a bit further apart from one another (than Pegasus treehouses) for privacy. There is a communal, designated fire pit and stunning views of the mountains. Within a comfortable walking distance (4 minutes) from the flush toilets and showers, 1 minute to the portable toilets. There is no electricity at the Tecolote sites. ***This site has 1 Queen and 3 single beds. . We provide mattresses with a fitted sheet as a mattress cover, you need to bring your own sheets to put on top, blankets, pillows or sleeping bags as well as towels and toiletries, lanterns and flashlights (don’t sleep directly on the sheet we provide). Located less than an hour from Santa Fe Ski area, 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to Old Town Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd galleries and the famous Santa Fe Opera you are not far from all that Santa Fe has to offer. There are three much loved restaurants just 15 minutes down the road as well. NOTE: The beautiful drive to reach us meanders through the historic quaint village of Canada de Las Alamos. Mountain views and evergreen forests border the 1.3 mile dirt road, which is just far enough to get away from the hustle and excitement of Santa Fe but close enough to enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer. Such a hidden gem! The host and camp staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The property has great amenities, including an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a shower/bath house, while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. It borders National Forest land, and there’s a wonderful short hike right from the grounds that was perfect for sunset. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

We chose a campsite closest to the shared pavilion and toilet, but because there were no other campers around, we had the place to ourselves. The weather was beautiful, my kids loved finding different rocks and making things with all the sticks lying around. The wind in the trees and stars were breathtaking. We couldn’t have a campfire due to the burn ban, but we used our camp stove. One evening, we utilized the shared outdoor kitchen, which was very nice to keep the kids clean after their showers….in a clean bathroom, I should add. I really liked that there was an outdoor washing station three minutes from our campsite. We carried dishes back and forth easily, and were able to do a few loads of laundry, too. (Only a washer, no dryer; but that wasn’t an issue because things line dried so quickly.) A few things would’ve made the experience even better, but I know these things couldn’t be helped. More shade would be nice during the day, and water and electricity at each site would have been helpful. But like I said, I know those things cannot be helped and with all the amenities nearby, it really wasn’t bad at all. I should also mention that except for a few little gnats and flies, there weren’t any bugs. We left our tent “door” open all day without any problems. Ciana was very helpful and accommodating too! We will definitely return if we are ever in the area. Highly recommended!

Tranquil Times Bell Tent-16'

We loved this property and would absolutely stay here again. Ciana and Brad are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We were interested in taking a survival course that didn’t appear available to book while we were there and Brad was able to meet with us for 2 hours and share his amazing wealth of knowledge with us. Ciana was very kind and attentive, checking in to see that we were comfortable in the tent. The property overall was relaxing and peaceful and the kitchen met our needs perfectly. And we loved watching all the humming birds!

My husband and I unplugged and relaxed at Santa Fe Treehouse Camp for two nights. We experienced star gazing, hiking, and archery. The camp was clean and comfortable for our quick staycation. We will be back!

The camp was much better than expected and had a plethora of amenities such as super clean bathrooms (including the cleanest portapotty I’ve ever seen) and showers, plenty of grills, well stocked kitchen, etc. Ciana and Bobcat Brad were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend taking an archery lesson. I only wish we were staying in a cooler season as it was pretty brutal in the heat of the day. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from our treehouse though.

Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent

My son and I loved our experience at this campsite. Our two person tree tent was so unique and such a neat thing to stay in during our roadtrip. We loved hunting crystals, taking the sunset overlook hike, and meeting all the interesting people staying around us. Thank you for a fun adventure. We can't wait to come back!

Ciana and Brad are very friendly hosts and explained everything in detail to us. The outdoor activities offered by Brad were great. The place is extremely beautiful and allows a lot of privacy to everyone. The pit toilets set up in addition to the nice bathhouse are a plus. For those who are on a roadtrip, a laundry would be nice. We definitely recommend staying with Ciana and Brad and would come back!

Tecolote 1 Treehouse

Tecolote 1 was great and the whole area was really nice and well taken care of. Ciana was very helpful and it was nice being able to hike onto trails right from the camp area. Many resources they have that make it more comfortable while camping including hot showers and bathrooms. There are portable toilets that were also around that were convenient near Tecolote. The views around this place are wonderful and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again when we camp near Santa Fe again. Thank you

Mustang Bunkhouse

This was our third stay at Santa Fe Treehouse. It always feels like a home away from home. Ciana and Brad are exceptionally kind and welcoming hosts. In the past, we stayed in Pegasus treehouses (which are also great!), but decided to try out the Mustang Bunkhouse this time. I wish we could have stayed a week instead of only a night. We loved the screened porch, having a full sized fridge to empty our cooler into, and being in close proximity to the communal kitchen. The cabin is so lovingly decorated—it’s really a special place. We will definitely be back for a longer.

I really enjoyed my time at Treehouse. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean. The scenery is beautiful with hiking trails right there. I didn't get a chance to try out the climbing walls but those looked fun too. Camping in my van here was a wonderful experience and the perfect compliment to my time in the city for my art show. My campsite, and many of the others, weren't flat, so be prepared for that. They have spring water on tap outside which was an unexpected bonus as my water supply ran low. If I'm in Santa Fe again I'll be coming back here!

Great stay as a camper visiting family in Santa Fe. Lots of tent spots and a very clean bathroom/showers. Porta potties were a great touch for closer access if you’re not wanting to walk to the shower house. Trails and views were beautiful. National Forest right up against the property.

Tranquil Times Bell Tent-16'

My daughter and I were in need of a much-needed getaway, and this was exactly what we were looking for. The owners were welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The grounds were well-maintained, peaceful, and quiet. The other campers were also very friendly, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. One of my favorite parts of the trip was waking up early, enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the sunrise. We stayed in Tent 16, which was spacious and comfortable. I especially appreciated how close the restrooms and showers were to our site. This was the first campsite where I didn't hesitate to leave the tent in the middle of the night to use the restroom. As two women traveling alone, feeling safe is very important to us, and we felt completely comfortable and secure throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning.
