Legacy Farms Leisure Area
5 units · Glamping, Tents43 acres · Lumber Bridge, NCWe carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008.. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I work full time as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner plus have a side hobby making homemade jams and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

JCO at Lee Baysden Pond
15 units · Glamping, Motorhomes, Tents86 acres · NCThe pond was originally much smaller and a mill pond in the 1920's and features a long dam along one side. It is a 22 acre lake, 2 smaller ponds and surrounded by woods, swamp, and fields, a total of 90 acres. The Lee Baysden Pond was originally owned by Mr. Lee Baysden himself and first opened for fishing in 1956. The store/office is the original detached kitchen from his homeplace, which is the white house just up the street. We still use this today and it has Mr. Lee Baysden's handwriting in the store that states opened June 1956. The pond was owned and fished until the late 1990's. A hurricane damaged the dam and land was sold sometime after. The next owner dug the pond into the lake it is today and fixed the dam. It was deemed private and no fishing was permitted during this time frame. In 2020 My husband Tyler, and I decided to buy the Pond when we saw the signs up for sale. It was way overgrown and covered in algae and duck weed, but we saw the potential and love for the lake in our community. We could not see it developed off into housing. We created JCO, Juniper Creek Outfitters and Guide Service, fall 2020 and began to restore the lake and land to better than ever! We also have cabins in the works for 2022. We have had several community events hosting fishing tournaments, fireworks, music, and food trucks. Our camp office/store is opened most weekends and fishing passes available 7 days a week online from sunrise-dark. Our lake features fishing for Bass, Crappie, Bream, Catfish, Bowfin, Panfish, and more. Check out our facebook page for all the latest news and catches! We are continually trying to make JCO and Lee Baysden Pond a great place in our community for friends and families!

The Farm at Piper Hill
4 units · Glamping100 acres · NCWhat happens when you take an absolutely beautiful farm property, and add very friendly animals, mix it up with some rescue animals-including a camel and wallaby, utilize reclaimed wood dating back to the 1700's for outbuildings and even recreate a mining area that has recently unearthed artifacts and fossils? You get a bespoke outdoor experience to unwind, wander and entertain almost anyone in your family. The property is set on over 100 acres with one of the largest spring fed ponds in the area, loaded with trophy sized largemouth bass and catfish. The 1870 Farm Family of Chapel Hill, alongside the Kids farms Foundation, sought to save this property from development. This oasis is now an outdoor farm-based learning environment for children and a sanctuary for rescue animals. Visitor experiences at the farm include hands on time with our farm animals, fishing, kayaking, hayrides, hiking, mining for gems, treasure hunting at the creek and so much more! We also have curated experiences for date nights, afternoon picnics, family gatherings and just about anything you can dream up! Our large open spaces, open air barn and beautifully decorated barn house will make your wedding or special event all the more beautiful. For the kids, we offer birthday party packages, overnight retreats, day camps and summer camps. Our glamping and overnight stays offer a serene, relaxing environment to break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Seasonal events such as our Easter Egg Hunt, Oktoberfest and Winter Festival will bring families from all over the Triangle together for some good old fashioned farm fun!
