There are only 25 pitches available. We have a mid wild pitch on the outskirts of the woods, lovely grassed area between trees. Our top field is perfect for motorhomes & caravans.
Plenty of space to breath and relax. Located on the stunning heathlands of the Sutton Heath. We are surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, including the Sandlings walk and just 10 minutes from the river Deben.
We have a bus stop at the top of the track and Melton train station is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There are access points onto public footpaths, leading to Rendlesham Forest. A famous site for UFOs! Sutton Hoo is a stone's throw away. Bring your bikes and explore the area on wheels.
There is water access and portaloos. We do not have showers yet. Blue/grey waste must be taken away. LEAVE NO TRACE

You are beautifully placed at agar farm to park the car set up camp and not need your car for the rest of your stay,everything is on your door step

The place to find all this is The Meadow at Waples Mill, an Essex farm site between Chelmsford and Dunmow (and about 15 minutes’ drive from both). This family-friendly site is handy for walks on the Essex Way and other local footpaths, and tractor and trailer rides around the farm are organised on alternate days to give guests a glimpse into agricultural life.
Activities complete for the day, it's time to chill out, and that should be easy here – all pitches have access to toilets and hot showers in a trailer close by, and firepits are provided so you can have a safe campfire (with wood available to buy on site and a great farm shop 10 minutes’ drive away for fireside snacks).
Pitches themselves are large (please note only one tent per pitch is allowed), well kept and well spaced within a meadow that backs onto the River Roding. Dogs are welcome, and there are plenty of places to take them for a walk nearby.

We have a shared under cover space and also an outdoor fire-pit to gather more than 20 people comfortably. There is a simple compost loo for your use with hand-washing and dish washing area outside. And the rest is all Mother nature! There is no running water or drinking water. You will need to bring your own. No electricity points or WIFI are in the campsite and no masts nearby so enjoy the EMF cleanse.
Whether you chose to stay in the ancient woodland or the herbal pasture, you will feel the benefits of reconnecting with yourself in nature, breathing the clean air and hearing the birds singing. The parking is 800m away and there is minimal tractor use so you can imagine yourself roaming the fields and forest of England in days gone by.

If it’s a ‘proper’ Suffolk wild-camping adventure you’re after, have a look at Lions Row, a spacious back‑to‑basics site on a working farm just outside Ufford. It’s completely surrounded by countryside, but only a handy five minutes’ drive (or a 35 walk) from the pubs, takeaways and shops in Wickham Market.
You can park at the pitches, which are mown into the long grass. It’s a clever spot for families as it’s a mile from the nearest road, making it quiet and safe for kids to roam freely without any danger from traffic.
As this is wild camping, facilities are minimal: drinking water, a simple washing-up sink, compost loos and basic gas-heated outdoor showers are your lot. However, you’ll wake up to birdsong every morning and go to sleep by starlight on clear nights; just remember to bring torches and batteries for after-dark wanderings.
The views are peaceful and rural, and the field is bordered by deciduous woodland – great for exercising any four-legged pals – criss-crossed with footpaths leading to country pubs (there are four within half an hour’s walk). It’s also close to heritage attractions such as Sutton Hoo (10 minutes’ drive).

Fancy some secluded downtime exploring rural coastal Suffolk? The tree-shaded pitches at Hill Farm are in a peaceful setting near the market towns of Saxmundham and Halesworth, and handily accessible from the A12, as well as to the coast and pretty villages, historical hamlets, and popular seaside towns, such as Southwold and Aldeburgh.
This is a site that welcomes families and groups of friends, and it's dog-friendly too (there’s a 4-acre woodland to the north of the site that's great for dog walking). The site has good TV reception for relaxing indoors on damp or chilly days.
The popular village of Westleton (10 minutes’ drive) has a village store, a farm shop, a garage and 2 pubs; and if you fancy a change from cooking, there is also a nice pub and a tearoom, in the Darsham village area (only 5 minutes drive or a 30 minute walk away through some lovely fields).
Back on site, there are a toilet cabins with hot running water, plus other facilities including 4 showers, a portaloo, and a washing machine, grey waste and chemical toilet disposal and recycling points. Wi-fi is nearly all over the site too.
The shared facilities at the top of the site also has a fridge and a washing up area, with a warm water tap, a nearby kettle and a plug socket for charging mobiles. Picnic tables, PIR lighting and Starlink wifi is also provided.
Please not that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and yes campfires are allowed, as long as the fire pit is raised off the ground and the fire is supervised at all times, with a bucket of water at hand too. Thank you for booking!

Great campsite on the outskirts of Norwich. For the price I was expecting 'wild camping' levels of facilities but was pleasantly surprised that there were warm showers and porcelain flushing toilets! Even though it's just outside Norwich the campsite itself feels remote and secluded. Looks like there's a cidery on site as well so shall have to plan another visit when the taprooms open!

The woods are cute and quiet, with some nice fire pits and an amazing sunset over the field.
Plenty of pubs in walking distance or a short drive if you don’t want to cook.
Jon was a friendly host and happily showed me around the woods.
Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a quick weekend camp near London.

Stunning place, a Really a lovely find. Myself and my children had a wonderful time here and didn’t want to leave. Toilets and shower facilities were clean, the “beach” and stream was lovely and kept my little ones happy all day.
Lots of open space, we could choose where we pitched our tent. Animals were great to have around, kids loved how cheeky they were with the food! Daughter loved feeding the horses.
We borrowed fire pit too and were able to get wood from the forrest which was.
It was a really lovely wholesome, relaxed weekend. Will be returning!

Close to large supermarkets (5/7 min drive) and March town in a short drive or 35 walk along the river.
Perfect for a few relaxing days away.

The campsite is great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only slight issue is there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers, so you have to wait to use these when the site is full. However, having easy access to the river is a massive bonus, we were either on or in the river every day. Paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming or fishing. Overall one of the best sites we have stayed at.

Just returned from 5 wonderful nights at Four Winds Campsite, we were a family of 4 and went with two other families. We were lucky enough to have sunshine every day and made good use of the river. We had 5 children between us ranging from 10 - 15 years old. We hired kayak's and rowed to March, we stopped off at a park for a picnic recommended by Debs. We had an afternoon in Ely and had another recommendation to eat dinner in The Cutter Inn which was a really lovely meal. We hired paddle boards another day, the Dad's enjoyed some fishing and the campsite was big enough to play football or rounders with ample space. There was a basketball hoop, we took a slip and slide, badminton net, elastics, and light up frisbees. The pizza van on Friday night was great, particularly as there are no BBQ's allowed due to the hot weather. The small shop sells ice creams and cold drinks. The washing up area is undercover with Jaffa the cat hanging around. The only negative is there are only two toilets each with a basin, so there was sometimes a queue as its the only area to brush teeth, a couple more basins or a portacabin of extra toilets/sinks would make this campsite perfect. There are only two showers as well but they were always hot and clean. Debs was really friendly and helpful, we would recommend this site to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with watersports as an added bonus.

Didn’t see the host, but we booked and arrived late and everything was obvious. Loved how quiet it was and how much space we had: only two other vans arrived after us, we had the rest of the field to our selves. Shower and toilets very clean. Shower was warm but the boiler flame went off and on.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in the woodland.
It felt secluded and was very peaceful. It’s a great off grid site with lots of great spots to pitch up in the trees or the meadow.
Jon was very nice snd helpful, provided us with a wheel barrow to help shift our camping gear and even carried a few bits himself as we walked and talked about the land and his journey managing the farm.
We really felt like had ‘got away from it all’ for a few days, we loved it and will be back.

As soon as I made the booking I received a message from jaik with all the details I would need and extra directions. Jaik was very attentive from the get go. originally, from rookie error, I had booked a hard standing pitch for a caravan but I had a tent, Jaik was on the case within minutes and instantly sorted us out. Nothing was too much for him, showers, toilets, wifi and electricity on site.
Site was quiet and as per request we were placed in a remote area which was lovely with 2 kids.

5 m campervan
The campsite is nicely situated very near to Grafham Water with the actual road that it’s on being part of the trail around the reservoir. Lovely and peaceful site with no stress. Within walking distance to the village pub and the Indian restaurant (which I would highly recommend!!!!). A great location and a great host who made me feel very welcome.
