There are only 25 pitches available. We have a mid wild pitch on the outskirts of the woods, lovely grassed area between trees. Our top field is perfect for motorhomes & caravans.
Plenty of space to breath and relax. Located on the stunning heathlands of the Sutton Heath. We are surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, including the Sandlings walk and just 10 minutes from the river Deben.
We have a bus stop at the top of the track and Melton train station is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There are access points onto public footpaths, leading to Rendlesham Forest. A famous site for UFOs! Sutton Hoo is a stone's throw away. Bring your bikes and explore the area on wheels.
There is water access and portaloos. We do not have showers yet. Blue/grey waste must be taken away. LEAVE NO TRACE

The place to find all this is The Meadow at Waples Mill, an Essex farm site between Chelmsford and Dunmow (and about 15 minutes’ drive from both). This family-friendly site is handy for walks on the Essex Way and other local footpaths, and tractor and trailer rides around the farm are organised on alternate days to give guests a glimpse into agricultural life.
Activities complete for the day, it's time to chill out, and that should be easy here – all pitches have access to toilets and hot showers in a trailer close by, and firepits are provided so you can have a safe campfire (with wood available to buy on site and a great farm shop 10 minutes’ drive away for fireside snacks).
Pitches themselves are large (please note only one tent per pitch is allowed), well kept and well spaced within a meadow that backs onto the River Roding. Dogs are welcome, and there are plenty of places to take them for a walk nearby.
London folk looking for a quick escape to the countryside, this is a place to bear in mind – it’s only about an hour and quarter by road from the city.

We are a pop-up site at a Norfolk working farm just outside the Broads National Park. BeWILDerwood Norfolk is just a 10 minute drive away and we are 15 minutes from the coast.
We are home to a microbrewery with a taproom on site. A pop-up campsite with a microbrewery on site? Sounds like a fine setup, right? Well, that’s what you’ll get at The Farm Camping!
This is a handy location for all sorts of activities, including walking or boating around the Broads, hitting the beaches of the north coast or spending time fishing, horse riding or cycling. The nearest pub is a 10 minute walk away – but you won’t have to go that far if you don’t want to, as the farm is home to the Wildcraft Brewery, which has a taproom in one of the traditional red-brick barns (and picnic tables outside for an alfresco drink on a sunny day).

What a beautiful campsite! Jo and Carla were extremely kind and welcoming and the site was peaceful, beautiful and very well equipped. Each pitch has its own composting toilet and there is even a mini kitchen (shared by three pitches). The shower was warm and powerful. The sound of horses in the next door field was the perfect thing to fall asleep to. It will be even more beautiful once the flowers Jo is planting grow through! I will definitely be back

It was a lovely campsite, we set up our tent in the woods slightly outside of where we were meant to as there wasn't enough clearing for our huge tent in the main woods. Where we ended up staying was perfect for our needs. Jon was a lovely host, and gave us enough freedom to do our thing. The only negative, if you can call it that, was the facilities could do with a bit cleaning. I think the main camping forest could do with a bit of clearing of weeds/bushes which don't allow you to set up bigger tents. There's no running water and It's a long walk to the car, so just be prepared for that. All in all a great stay with the kids, nice and quiet. We would stay here again!

Such a lovely place to stay. We only stayed one night and had to leave early in the morning so didn’t get to enjoy the river but will definitely be back. The whole team are so lovely, accommodating and welcoming. Pitches are very spacious and facilities are spotless. Shop is a great addition and my partner ordered the breakfast box and it was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Such a lovely stay at a calm and tranquil campsite nestled in the woods but with plenty of open spaces too. Clean loos and easy access to the water. Best part was how quiet it was on a bank holiday weekend as its a huge site so everyone can spread out. Will definitely be back. Very friendly welcome and provided firewood and checked in that everything was ok.

Its a great place to stay and use as a base if visiting Norfolk, within easy reach of superstores and A47.
However, the White House Farm Village shops were not open on Sunday and Monday on a Bank Holiday weekend, this didnt affect our stay but was a bit of a disappointment.
Overall a good site and would definitely use again.

I wanted a nice peaceful site that was easily accessible (the farm track to the field was a bit bumpy but my Zafira was ok) plenty of space and I got just that, there was a small wood behind me with plenty of free wood to burn, the toilets for a camp site were amazing cleaner than a lot of hotels I have stayed in, would I recommend this site definitely, would I stay here again definitely. The host met me at the house and was very pleasant and the burgers were great too, top notch.

Where to go
The King’s Forest
Together with Thetford Forest to its north, the King’s Forest helps comprise the biggest human-made lowland forest in England. The Icknield Way long-distance trail passes through, while a reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village sits in the south by West Stow Country Park and a number of camping options.
Isleham & the River Lark
From its confluence with the Great River Ouse, the River Lark winds southeast to Isleham, nine miles from Thetford Forest, before continuing upstream to Bury St Edmunds and beyond. Navigable until Jude’s Ferry between Isleham and Mildenhall, and with a major marina at Isleham, the waterway is a favourite among pleasure boaters and walkers who frequent the footpaths lining the river. Several campsites dot the area, some near the water.
East of Thetford
The town of Thetford hugs the forest’s southeast corner, east of which are many important wildlife areas including Brettenham Heath National Nature Reserve with its nationally rare chalk grassland and heathland habitats, plus the SSSI Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve. The Peddars Way long-distance path runs east of landscaped 18th-century parkland Shadwell Park, then intersects with Icknield Way near Knettishall Heath. Look for a fair number of kid-friendly campsites nearby.
Ely & Around
West of Thetford Forest, pancake-flat farmland spreads across to Ely. This is one of Britain’s smallest cities, arranged around a stunning cathedral on the highest land in all the East Anglian fens (with a whopping elevation of 85 feet!). Ely’s countrified surroundings, also known as Bedford Level, are the place to come for excellent boating and a fine choice of campsites, many with pitches scattered through lovely wildflower meadows.
