Each of the safari lodges sleep two to six people and have their own and shower facilities - perfect for families. You'll find comfy beds, a toasty wood burner (for cooking and heating)y and everything else necessary for your stay, right down to the cutlery and utensils.
Lodges have power so you can still enjoy all your home creature comforts. There is also a sundeck outside to relax and enjoy the countryside views.
The well-known Drove Orchards Rural Market is just a few minutes walk from camp with a farm shop, fishmongers, Yurt restaurant, Eric's Fish and Chip restaurant, artisan shops, cycle hire and an ice cream parlour.
The lovely North Norfolk coastal village of Thornham is just a 15 minute walk with the Lifeboat Inn and the Orange Tree. The well known Thornham Deli offers a restaurant and deli counter, perfect for planning a picnic.
There are two sets of four lodges and a set of three lodges, all by themselves, which are perfect for larger groups of 12-18 guests. All lodges are well spaced.
Thornham is within the Norfolk's coast 'Golden Triangle' with adjacent villages such as Brancaster, Burnham Market, Holkham, Sandringham and Old Hunstanton popular places to visit.

As barbecues are permitted here, there’s always the option of preparing the grill for some alfresco dining. With a farm shop that’s well stocked with local beef and rare-breed pork for your grill, along with fresh veg and various cakes and treats, you should be able to feed yourselves well (and you’ll get a bit of a discount on the standard prices to make everything taste even better…)
On top of that, there’s also a farm park on the same site where kids (even the grownup ones) can meet alpacas, lambs, pigs and other farm animals; you'll get free entry to this thrown in as well.
This little slice of rural life may well feel like it’s completely immersed in the countryside but in fact it’s only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Hertford and the A10, which means easy access to shops and pubs when you want them, and to the road network for days out around the area.

2 nights at The Hare lodge
The lodge was perfect for my partners birthday celebrations. We stayed a few nights and was so happy with everything. Annabel was very responsive and helpful and did everything she could to make sure we had a great time. The accomodation itself was beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed to unwind and unplug. Beds were comfy and shower was lovely, kitchen was well equipped and the welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. The outside spaces are wonderful for hosting and we ended up having the whole field to ourselves.

Weekend Trip to Coverack Camping & Glamping
The tent was bigger than I imagined, very sheltered and private. Loved the considerations to the environment, the compost loos, solar panels. Great communication when I enquired about firewood. Easy access to Coverack, great coastal walks and swimming beaches nearby. Would highly recommend.

Such a beautiful setting, really is private with stunning views.
The check in instructions and how to find the tent were superb and made it so easy.
The tent itself is amazing, really cosy and comfortable and amazing furnishings.
Beds are very comfy and luxurious bedding and towels. Even the toilet toll was thick and luxurious.

Lovely camp site and very welcoming hosts!
We stayed in the Foxglove tent and it was lovely. The communal kitchen has excellent amenities. There was an oven, gas hob, pizza over, bbq, plates, crockery, cutlery and things to wash up! You have your own cupboard, fridge and shower/toilet which was great!
Easy to get to and not far from some great hiking spots.
We had a great time and would stay again 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Rocombe Retreat surrounded by a plethora of birds, sheep, cattle and the luling of running water into the lake.
Eliott was very helpful,-not only with practical advice on site but was also able to sign post us to local attractions. The farmer (sorry we forgot his name).was very accommodating and gave us a snapshot of his daily life.
We were very fortunate to see the weighing in from the fishing competition that took place on site. Truly amazing fishermen in the area!
It really felt like home away from home. We will definetley recommend and will visit again.

This was our second time to Gravel Pit Farm and we would come back over and over again! The perfect glamping experience especially with children and a dog. Just what we needed to switch off for a few days. There is lots to do locally with national trust castles very close. Annabel the host is kind and friendly too.

Sadly, not a positive review from our stay.
The management team do not appear to take ownership for short comings and are indeed accusational when issues are raised. In our experience, it was completely over-priced at £250 per night and moreover, it is next to an active wedding venue, that plays amplified music until 11:30pm. This might work for wedding guests, but hardly the ideal, luxury, rural & family friendly retreat and location that the website claims to be and that the business charges for.
While the management team pointed me to the small print of their website, which does state that the campsite is near a busy hotel, it didn't feel like the website's other claims of being in a 'rural and off-grid setting'. Sadly, I cannot upload a video of the experience to this review, but it was loud, even in high-winds.
As a positive, the tent itself is attractive. However on our trip, blocked showers, a blocked toilet on arrival (fixed but with rude workmen), delays checking-in and a non-existent complaints handling procedure post trip, have resulted in us disputing the payment with our card provider, as we thought the service was so poor and that the website mis-sells the standard of service on offer. Nothing about this venue is luxury.

Michele's attention to detail is unmatched. From the decor to the breakfast.
We stayed over a weekend in July for our friends 35th birthday and it was so special. The tents fit four adults easily and were cozy and comfortable, the bathroom was also easy to use only downside was that you had walk about 20 meters to the toilet.
Location of the glamsite was great, easy to get to scenic walking paths and the beautiful tregantle beach is 5 minutes away.
Michele was always a message away and tended to our every need. She is a lovely host and a truly talented baker

We loved not having any electricity. cooking on the wood stove and using a whistling kettle was fun.

A beautiful stay and very relaxing! We stayed in Lime Kiln Lodge at Hadspen and it was such a lovely experience! So close to nature and surrounded by peace, quiet and nature, we couldn't ask for anything more.
The lodge had 2 comfortable double beds (one of which had a top bunk section), lovely hot shower, great kitchen facilities and comfortable lounge space with a log burner and 2 sofa's. One of the best parts was the log fired hot tub outside also.
A real highlight was Rob and Lucy's hospitality! Super friendly and really welcoming we felt right at home. We'll be back to stay again!

We loved our time at Michele's eco glamping site. The pitches were big and the tents were so cosy with really comfy beds. What made this campsite stand apart for us was Michele's excellent service. She bought us cakes on arrival and a delicious breakfast every morning, including a gluten free breakfast for my husband. She was also great at recommendations in the local area.
Michele had a great selection of games which we really enjoyed playing with my 3 year old.
We didn't know anything about the area before we came but really loved Tregantle bay. Our favourite spot for food was The Canteen at Maker Heights and we went every day for lunch.
Thank you for a wonderful break, we will be back!
