Our most popular pitch is our beautiful SSSI woodland.
There are only 25 pitches available. We have a mid wild pitch on the outskirts of the woods, lovely grassed area between trees. Our top field is perfect for motorhomes & caravans.
Plenty of space to breath and relax. Located on the stunning heathlands of the Sutton Heath. We are surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, including the Sandlings walk and just 10 minutes from the river Deben.
We have a bus stop at the top of the track and Melton train station is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There are access points onto public footpaths, leading to Rendlesham Forest. A famous site for UFOs! Sutton Hoo is a stone's throw away. Bring your bikes and explore the area on wheels.
There is water access and portaloos. We do not have showers yet. Blue/grey waste must be taken away. LEAVE NO TRACE

Hello and thank you for choosing Fat Apples Wild Camp Site!
Less than half a mile from Porthallow beach, our small family run wild campsite has around ten pitches spread throughout an old Cornish woodland, located just behind Fat Apples Café. We are also close to the half way mark of the Southwest Coast Path!
The village of St. Keverne is a five minute drive and has a Spar, baker, butcher, two pubs and a newsagents. When open, the café serves breakfast and lunches, and also has essentials for sale. Please check our café opening days as you will need to bring your own supplies if you are staying on the days we are closed!
The campsite is open seven days a week from April to the end of October (weather permitting).
The camp pitches are wild, and a short distance away we have a coin operated (hot) shower, WC and cold-water dishwashing sink.
There is no vehicular access to the site, cars are left about 100 yards away in our yard. We have wheelbarrows to help unload kit.
Throughout the year we run a variety of events, such as, music nights, courses, an ongoing bookswap and private parties. Our camp area is becoming well known for outdoor retreats and educational visits.
We allow small campfires on site in fire pits or baskets. Logs and basket are £13.50.
The café is open (9.30am-4.00pm).
Thursday to Sunday from the 5th March 2026.
Wednesday-Sunday April- End of August.
Thursday-Sunday September and October.
We also run BBQ evenings on a pop-up basis in the summer season.
It is a good idea to book breakfast or lunch in the café as it gets very busy.
The Village of Porthallow has a lovely pub on the beach called The Five Pilchards Inn. In calm weather it is great swimming, snorkelling and kayaking/boating area.

To ensure everyone’s enjoyment and safety, please follow these rules:
Supervise children: Always supervise your children and ensure they do not wander off alone.
Clean up after yourself: Dispose of all waste properly in the designated bins and leave no trace behind. Wash any items you use and return them to where you found them.
Respect other campers: Be courteous to fellow campers and respect their privacy and space.
Pets: If you bring pets, ensure they are well-behaved, kept on a leash or have impeccable recall, and cleaned up after. Do not allow your pet to enter another camper's space.
Quiet time: Maintain quiet hours between 10pm and 8am. All music must stop by 10pm, and noise should be minimal after 10pm.
Campfires: Penn Meadow Farm allows fires; but must be kept off the ground in BBQs or firepits. Fire pits are available to rent from check in. Never leave any fires unattended and ensure they are completely extinguished when finished.
Cars/vehicles: Cars and vehicles can be on the field but should move minimally and always under 8mph. Car stereos should not be used for music entertainment.
We do not typically book Large non-family groups unless they are seeking a calm and peaceful stay. These groups must have authorization prior to the visit.

Our small, off-grid campsite is surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside, with a stunning two-acre coarse fishing lake at its heart. Watch damselflies dancing across the water, spot kingfishers and other wildlife, enjoy spectacular sunsets over the lake and spend your evenings beneath some of Cornwall’s darkest skies.
Although you’ll feel wonderfully tucked away, we’re perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall. Mawgan Porth is just 9 miles away, Padstow 10 miles, Newquay 11 miles and Mevagissey 15 miles away, making Tregonetha Lake the perfect base for exploring both the north and south coasts.
As a Freedom Camping Club Certified Site, we offer peaceful, low-impact camping in a natural setting — no membership required.
Camping
Tregonetha Lake is home to around 20 camping pitches, so while you’ll have other campers nearby during busier periods, we’ve designed the site to feel spacious, peaceful and relaxed. Whether you choose a lakeside pitch or one of our secluded woodland pitches, there’s always plenty of room to unwind and enjoy nature.
All camping pitches are non-allocated, so simply choose your favourite spot when you arrive and make yourselves at home.

At the heart of the campsite is our beautiful two-acre coarse fishing lake, where guests can enjoy peaceful days by the water surrounded by nature. Fishing day tickets are available during your stay.

From 16th July until the end of August, we’re excited to introduce Wildfire – Lakeside Bar & Kitchen.
Enjoy stone-baked pizzas, homemade loaded nachos, cold drinks and fresh coffee beside the lake while watching the sun go down.

We had the most incredible time at Charlotte’s campsite—it felt like our own little slice of paradise. From start to finish, Charlotte was brilliant with communication, making sure we had everything we needed.
The site itself is stunning, boasting a spectacular view and massive fields. Our three sausage dogs had the absolute time of their lives here: Cabbage spent the entire day sniffing around, Chutney never tired of playing fetch, and good old Dinky was happily following them both. It was the perfect, safe space for them to explore.
Even during an awful heatwave, this place excelled. Charlotte provided ice-cold water on-site, and thanks to the scorching sun all day, the huge bucket we brought along (plus our water bags) heated up perfectly. It meant we were even able to enjoy a lovely warm wash once the evening cooled down a bit!
Charlotte also went above and beyond by providing extra equipment from the huts that we hadn't brought with us, including folding chairs and tables. To top it all off, the raised fire pit was wonderful in the evening for roasting treats and keeping us warm as the night set in.
If you are looking for a place to slow down, unwind, and focus on the small things, this is it. We couldn't recommend Charlotte’s site enough!

We had a great stay at the barn!!! It is really an adventure in the middle of nowhere. The coffee is good and you are just 20 minutes walk from the station. Charlie helped us with a taxi when we wanted to be early in the queue of Wimbledon! We had nice contact with him. Three nights we were alone on the camping so that was fantastic!!! Back to basic with a shower nearly in the open air and a view on the fields👍 we loved it❤️

This was a beautiful piece of land on a hill with a spectacular view! It was the first camping trip for me and a friend, and we had a great time - just enough amenities to make everything straightforward, but not so many that it feels like glamping. There was a great supply of firewood, and the loo was very civilised.
The road leading up to the place is rather bumpy, so be wary if you have low suspension on your car!

The facilities are well maintained, there is even a freezer for campers and a small coffeeshop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, walked 1 hour to the seafront which was amazing for fossils.

Management are nice and helpful and aware. The field is soft and relatively even. Some areas are shaded, which is good to avoid baking yourself and your things. The shaded area is within audible distance of a main road, however. The showers have better water pressure than most houses. The toilets are standard porta-loos. There are various recycling bins and a place to donate unwanted or broken camping equipment for re-use, which is a great. I booked this place because it was the cheapest in the area, but it far exceeded expectations. I think the only real downside is that next door is an active farm, so if you are vegan beware there are sheep grazing there. Unfortunately almost every campsite in the UK is in the same situation. I would stay there again.

A lovely large field, mostly flat, with tall trees to the west, so the setting sun doesn't bake your tent all evening. Hosts are very friendly and helpful.
Facilities - all clean and serviceable and located at the site entrance:
Toilets are Portaloos, plenty of them.
There are 4 handbasins (unscreened).
There are 3 showers in cubicles, which at times resulted in queues.
Hot coal bins for BBQs.
Drinking water points across the site.

This was a beautiful place to camp! Felt very tucked away and in our own little oasis. Wild swimming was the best way to cool down and our fire pit was the best way to warm up! Hot shower was lovely and clean. Jonathan was super kind and responsive to messages.

I camped for two nights in my own tent with my four year old and a dog, and we absolutely loved it. We only live up the road 😂 but this gave us the “middle of nowhere” camping experience within a 20 minute drive. The event on Friday night was brilliant, the cafe is wonderful and I was looking longingly at the exercise classes…next time! My daughter cried when we had to leave, we will definitely be back (and the husband can come too next time, there’s a Reformer with my name on it!!!) thank you for a lovely stay and see you again soon.

The hosts are so lovely and welcoming. The facilities are top-notch, too—the showers actually have really good water pressure, and having a little kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, and cooker makes camping so much easier.
The vibe is just really fun and relaxed. We loved seeing all the kids running around and having water fights; it’s a perfect family atmosphere. We had a brilliant time and we’ll definitely be heading back again!

Beautiful lake and campsite! Would definitely go back, poppy’s was a perfect sized pitch for two people and the stream was lovely to listen to in evening. Staff on site were so helpful and happy to help :)

Weekend Trip to Forest Edge Camping & Glamping
If you're looking to relax and soak up nature this is a beautiful spot on the edge of the forest. We stayed in a Bell Tent with lovely extras with some nice fruit tea bags and sugar stir sticks. Everything looked brand new.
Very clean showers and toilet blocks - modern and fresh.
Nothing was too much trouble - don't normally camp but I would have been happy for a week with a good book but sadly could only stay one night :-(

Really lovely wild camping stay here. So easy to get to and easy to find a camping spot. We set up hammocks too. Beautiful surroundings. All around a great experience. Would highly recommend.
