**The road to my property is open, Google is wrong** Nestled in a quaint old Fishing Town is a 4-Acre Forest property that hasn’t been touched since 1885! This land overlooks the North Atlantic Ocean, with a 25ft bank at the edge of the property, and almost 200ft of stone beach! No potable water on this property (well water is available by hose for cooking/cleaning/showering), but 10 minutes by car, you’ll find a Sobeys, a liquor store, a laundromat/cafe, a pub, a Home Hardware, and small local shops that carry camping supplies and so much more! There should be a grey plastic rounded table available (just pop in the 4 peg legs), and 2 matching grey small coffee side tables you can use positioned under the Tiny Home. Please return them somewhere underneath the Tiny Home when you are done using them so that other campers may use them :) 30 min drive away is the infamous Martinique Beach, a very popular surfing spot! Lots of hiking and site seeing available nearby as well. A long driveway is the entry point to the camping site. All I ask is that each camper leave the property better than they found it. As you depart, another camper is most likely arriving, so please keep that in mind. Enjoy the peace under the stars, and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves breaking against the shore, and the leaves rustling in the breeze! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is currently a Tiny Home on the property being built, and it is currently occupied by the property owner full-time. Garbage pick-up in this area only allows one black plastic bag to be removed every 2 weeks. If your garbage is in a clear bag the city will take it and you can put your sealed garbage in a clear bag in the wood box at the end of the driveway. The city ONLY takes clear bags. Recycling is allowed in blue bags. Due to this restriction, I am not able to handle all the campers garbage -- please take any that you create with you if you do not have clear bags. If any camper is found to have stayed past the checkout time, they will be charged for another night's stay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you and I hope you enjoy your stay!

The Wild Islands, 100 Wild Islands, Wild Islands Coast. Regardless of the name, we couldn’t be more lucky to have this pristine wilderness at our fingertips. Considered to be “The most valuable islands you’ve never heard of”, the archipelago is one of the last remaining intact and ecologically rich island groups of its size in North America. We want to share it with you… responsibly. As members of 1% for the Planet and Leave No Trace Canada, we’re committed to conserving the islands and helping others to do the same. We believe that people can only fully appreciate the islands’ unmatched beauty and conservation value by experiencing them firsthand. Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean has been operating on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore for over 60 years! This makes Murphy’s Camping one of the longest-running tourism operations in Nova Scotia. Our campground lands began as a coastal fishing settlement where you’ll still find a fisherman’s wharf and the old salt fish tanks from years past when schooners would load this cargo bound for the New England market. Over the years the Murphys have provided services such as schooner supply runs, rum running, moon shining, boat building, blacksmith services, farm produce, and sport fishing. With the introduction of our brand new geo-domes and cottage, our establishment now offers 10 months of Wild Islands fun! A 1.5 km hiking trail is planned for September 2025, which will make it even easier to enjoy the Wild Islands Coast.

I have a nice grassy and gravel space on the side of my home for an RV or a tent with easy access to a hose and electricity and extra parking. Nova Scotia is experiencing very dry weather with little rain in sight. I'm on well water and the water levels are low. I can offer bottled water for necessities but water usage from my home is limited. My backyard also has an above ground pool (currently being repaired) and firepit (when fires are allowed) for extra convenience. My yard is surrounded by trees and we often have wildlife visit us. It is very quiet and serene. It's a family oriented neighborhood so you will see and hear kids. Everyone helps each other out. We are also located 6km to Rainbow Haven Beach, 3km to the Cow Bay Moose and 3km to the local grocery store. Also 9.7km from the Woodside Ferry Terminal and 800m from the closest city bus stop.

Island - Crooks Hill Farm & Makery

17. Island - Crooks Hill Farm & Makery

44km from Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park · 5 sites
This land was farmed by the Crooks family, one of the original Tancook families, going back to 1865. Crooks Hill grew cabbage to be made into sauerkraut - one of the main exports of Tancook Island! Now, it's home to our family and livestock. Come camp on our farm - hang out with the critters and maybe learn a 'granny skill' or two! We're located on a beautiful historic lobster fishing island, right next to the ocean. Unparalleled night skies. Local cafe with amazing (and reasonably priced) food. Post office, Wishing Stones gallery and meeting spot, South Cove Small Goods for snacks and unique finds, Toast Cafe at the community recreation centre, Southeast Cove beach and sand flats (when tide is out). Arrive by ferry from Chester, bring your bikes and tenting gear. Expect to enjoy fresh farm eggs and whatever herbs and veg in the garden, pet the goats and sheep, and watch the animal antics of a small working farm. Island tours available with South Cove Experiences plus small goods shop with pantry and takeaway lunch for your daily exploration. As your host is a bread-baker and fibre arts instructor, you can book a lesson to learn knitting, wool-spinning, felting, make an embroidered patch as a memento or just hang out and have your own creative getaway. Our lot is open, and while we recommend a camping spot on the flatter spots, there are a few spaces on our hill that give a wonderful view of the night sky and ocean in the daytime.

This unique property is located on a small island connected by a causeway, situated near a fishing reserve and surrounded by excellent surfing, hiking trails, rock climbing, kayaking, and many beautiful beaches. It’s also a favourite spot for birdwatchers. I’m located about 40 minutes from downtown Halifax, with convenient shopping just ten minutes away. Guests will need a car, as local bus transportation is not nearby. Please note: it would be appreciated if guests could bring their own sleeping bags if possible. Sharing my studio and home over the years has been an amazing experience, welcoming world travellers like myself. I’ve made wonderful connections, exchanged experiences, and shared many memorable meals with guests who enjoy a more communal holiday.

You can hear the waves when the wind is right, and the cheerful chirps of the birds in the morning and the peepers in the evening will sooth the mind and ease the soul. Located within 10 minutes driving distance of the site is an NSLC, a local pub, a Foodland, a laundry/cafe, and a local shop that sells almost everything you can think of! 30 minutes by car is the infamous Martinique Beach. 20 minutes away, there are 2 pizza shops, 2 fish and chip shops, a library, a used bookstore, a local cafe, and a Lawton's. Sawdust and hand sanitizer are provided inside the composting toilet tent. 1 scoop should be sufficient, and you can leave all garbage in the black garbage bin that will be available on site. Additional options are available upon request for a small fee, such as: - To rent for the duration of your stay: a queen-size, 18" tall air mattress, inflated ($20.00 per stay) - To rent for the duration of your stay: 5L water jug with electric spout ($5.00 per stay) - Celebration package ($40.00 - includes a bottle of sparkling wine/Prosecco with two glasses) - Romance package ($45.00 - includes a bottle of sparkling wine/Prosecco, two glasses, and rose petals set up) Missing in the photos are: the decorated shade cover, the food prep/coffee table, solar lights, garbage bin. To be added to the campsite soon: a picnic table and a ground mat for the composting toilet. To note: The table and chairs in the image are almost child-size. People who are 5'10 may find the seats uncomfortable. They are just a placeholder until I have the picnic table put in.
