Site 2, Nancy’s Landing, smaller site close to the creek with parking. Site 3 Bills Hill, located high up in the woods. Sites 4 & 5 Walnut Grove, large flat grassy sites in a meadow with wildflowers. Enjoy the quarter-mile walk to the old Dillard Mill Store, displayed in museum fashion at the entrance of Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Tour the old grist mill in working form, fish for sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass at the Mill, and take memorable photos. Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Each non-primitive site has a gravel pad for RV campers and parking, a grassy area for tent camping, visiting, or playing, a picnic table, and a fire ring with grill. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a ton of fun! This campground is unique because it comes with private access to 1 mile of river access at Shote Hole Bluff there's a shallow gravel bar for swimming, lounging in the sun in your chair, cooking out, a boat dock, you can set up a canopy for the day and have fun in the sun in the pristine crystal clear gorgeous spring fed Current River! The RV and camp sites have access to a potable water spigot, a porta potty all season long from May 24th through September 3rd, a sewer dump site and the RV and campsites have their own fire rings. The river is directly across the road from the campground. This is the quietest campground that is close to the river and it is very close to Van Buren. We had a great time camping on Teresa's land. It has all the hookups you need and more! Very peaceful remote area, but still close enough to Van Buren that fetching any forgotten supplies is a breeze. She was also very kind, suggesting locations, offering advise, and even getting us some extra fire wood. One thing of note is to not listen to your GPS when arriving and actually read Teresa's email with detailed directions. Lol Otherwise you end up down her neighbor's driveway and look like an idiot. 😂

We camped in the safari tent and had a cozy lovely time. Although it was in a loop with other campsites it felt plenty private, set back from the road and separated from the other sites by plenty of trees. Didn't end up trying the tub, but it looked nice. The wood stove kept us warm throughout the night, and the solar power bank and water pump were a nice touch.

The high and dry site was easy to find, felt private, had enough room to spread out and was surrounded by woods. It was conveniently located close to town and to parks and hiking in the area. We didn't see anyone (except two friendly dogs that stopped by one day). There is a nice fire pit at the site and a clean porta potty a quick walk across the bridge. There was a some road noise, but overall a nice little spot and good base camp with so much to explore in this beautiful area.

About

Welcome to Floater's Paradise, also known as the ONSR, in south-central Missouri. It's home to some of the largest springs in the United States (springs of gushing water, not springs that make comfy mattresses). Tourists can take advantage of the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers' lazy, meandering movements to enjoy the great outdoors.

Several outfitters rent canoes, kayaks, and boats for you and your family to float the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. Start at Van Buren, and by the end of the day, you're in Doniphan if you float on the crystal-clear Current River. Along the way, see craggy bluffs, rolling pasture lands, hidden caves, and plenty of springs that feed the river. Spelunkers can enjoy the 300 caves in the area.

For a real treat, get off the river and take a look at Big Spring (one of the largest in the world). Alley Mill sits in an idyllic spot near Eminence, as the red building stands out against the clear water and green trees. If you're really lucky, you may lay eyes on Shannon County's wild horse herd that roams freely throughout the ONSR.

Check with your outfitters regarding crowds and water levels on the rivers. This park is somewhat crowded during the summer. That's why a day float in mid-October, offers a fantastic chance to see the surrounding hills in their autumn glory.

We canoed the Current and loved how quiet and clear the water was. Very peaceful in October. We are definitely coming back to explore more camping! Public campsites are closed during the government shutdown

Very beautiful and clean, but Saturdays are crowded until later in the afternoon. There was a fraction of the people on Sunday and it was much more peaceful. ONSR is a great place!

Floater's Paradise!
One can float right past the property, putting in at the bridge and taking out by the rope swing. Mary even supplied tubes! We also floated from Boiling Springs Public Access to Mason Bridge Public Access, about 6 miles. On a Saturday, we only saw two other groups and the scenery was beautiful! Also, lots of fish to catch!

I loved the Ozark National Scenic Riverway!! I went with my dog and did a tour of the various springs. They were all so beautiful and peaceful. Now that it's springtime, wildlife was abundant. I'd highly recommend taking some days in this area.

Beautiful river, but distracted host blew it for me, driving through with his big loud truck every 20-30 minutes and forgetting to bring wood for a fire. Zero privacy, gross porta potty, failed to do what he said would. Not an experience worth revisiting… Lame.
