Thousand Oaks

The home was built by my parents in ‘82. My Mom was an avid hiker and outdoors person. She collected and planted agave pups in the yard and tended to them over the years. Because they’re watered and the pups are removed each spring they continue to grow to mammoth size. Once they bloom the plant dies. 3 have bloomed, producing 40’ stalks. Agave Americana.Learn more about this land: Nestled in a canyon full of giant oak trees , you’ll be amazed that you’re in southern Arizona. The dirt road is ideal for walks and bicycle rides. The property is 4 miles from the town of patagonia, just 2 miles in from highway 82. Patagonia lake state park is 9 miles away. There is a hammock & picnic table in the upper yard surrounded by mammoth agave plants and oaks. There is much info online for visitors to this area including There are 2 sites available but I prefer not to rent them simultaneously, unless the groups are together since they’re very close together. The basement is approx. 300 yards from the campsite.  There may be heard a thump thump in the distance at times.  Rehearsals never last after 8:30 pm Also I have 2 elderly cats that lounge around outside, usually pretty far from the site but free to wander during the day. (If you have a dog that adamantly chases cats with killer instinct , this could become a problem. )

Karla's Hummingbird Rd. Guest Ranch

4 sites · RVs, Tents8 acres · Huachuca City, AZ
Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Rd Guest Ranch! I am located just over an hour away from Tucson, AZ. I purchased this property in 2020 and I have worked hard to turn it into something that others can enjoy! We are 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. Enjoy spectacular views from the mountains, wander through the desert among the giant saguaro cactus and colorful wildflowers in the morning, linger over lunch beside a mountain stream or lake, and play in the snow all before the day's end. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. We have beautiful sunsets and views all around. You might see a lot of birds or quail on the property. My neighbours and I all have 4 acres minimum so no one is super close by. You can come here, walk or bike around, and walk your pets without being bothered by other dogs. This is a very safe and comfortable place for solo campers and families to enjoy! Each camper, tent, a place where people sleep is a campsite. Please don't book one tent site, say you have 2 vehicles, then the other vehicle is also a camper. That is TWO campsites. Important! Please don't post any photos of my place on my listing or in your review. I can't remove them, and they are usually bad photos. They are not helpful and they might show equipment I'd rather not have posted. Thank you.

Hidden away in the rugged hills of southeastern Arizona, Patagonia Lake State Park is an excellent spot for camping, boating, fishing, and just enjoying nature. Patagonia Lake was created by the damming of Sonoita Creek and is now one of the best fishing lakes in the state. In addition to housing a healthy population of largemouth bass, crappie, and sunfish, rainbow trout are stocked regularly from November through March. The Sonoita Creek State Natural Area is located downstream from Patagonia Lake and offers additional hiking, backcountry camping, and wildlife viewing opportunities.  The gardens are particularly beautiful, a true oasis in the Sonoran desert. Tumacacori is also very handicapped-friendly. Don't miss the gift shop at this particular Visitor Center—it has some really interesting choices (check out the cookbooks). Tumacácori National Historical Park can take a 4-mile hike if it's not too hot (Take water! You're in the desert!). The Rangers will give you a commemorative pin for completing it. If you'd like a shorter visit, end your exploration in the mission. It's cool inside, making it a pleasant place to sit and meditate. Come back at Christmas time to see the mission all lit up with luminarias, and stay for the special holiday events.  No Pets allowed.

Overview

About

Fort Necessity is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, which was the western frontier of America at one time. Little more than a stockade to enclose animals, the fort was George Washington's first taste of battle as a 22-year-old colonel. This would begin a cavalcade of events ending with the British surrender at Yorktown.)

The national battlefield here marks a turning point in American history. Step back into history when you visit the mission located at this national historical park. Start with the movie at the Visitor Center. A well-written booklet accompanies your self-guided tour, so you understand what you're looking at. In this park you're allowed to enter the buildings, so you get a full experience. You'll get a good sense of this region and understand what it was like to live in an early settlement like this.

The gardens are particularly beautiful, a true oasis in the Sonoran desert. Tumacacori is also very handicapped-friendly. Don't miss the gift shop at this particular Visitor Center—it has some really interesting choices (check out the cookbooks).
