Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit!
We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog.
We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails. Goat walks are about 30 minutes generally and $15 per walk.
Our own Free Range eggs are available for $7/doz as well as firewood for $10 per bundle
Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range!
We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please.
We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022!
We welcome tents and all trailers!

If you’re feeling adventurous you can hike around the surrounding forest; stay within the property boundaries and you will discover the hydro cut and its valley view, the ravine, the waterfall, and a footpath that leads to a bridge at the back of the lot. Or simply just relax and enjoy the soundings and view from the sitting rocks.
The public beach for swimming is a quick walk down Beach Road. It has a large dock, picnic tables, grassy area along with an portapotty. Or check out the sandbar and drop off at the boat launch at the end of the road. The lake has a diverse shoreline and perfect for small boats and kayaks. Enjoy beautiful sunsets overlooking the western end of the lake.

Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

FYI: The first Urban National Park in Canada was announced in 2024, the entrance is ~1 km north east of our driveway. Whether you live one or five+ hours from us, our comfortable ten acres will allow you to relax, de-stress, and reconnect with nature. If you're new to camping and forget something, we are only a two km walk to town. A small walking trail meanders through our property and we are avid birders, having once owned a wild bird nature shop
We welcome any self contained travel trailer or RV's.
Enjoy use of horseshoe pits, open space for games (e.g. soccer, bocce, frisbee, badminton, etc.) and feel free to ask, we may have those 'toys' to loan you during your visit.
Note 1: Items in posted photos (e.g. chairs, table, canopy) are for presentation only, however; in the event you need use of such - please inquire and we'll do our best to accommodate during your stay.
Note 2: Camp fires; we do have a portable campsite firebox, if municipal region fire ban is NOT in effect during your visit, we would happy to let you use during your stay.

Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit!
We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog.
We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails. Goat walks are about 30 minutes generally and $15 per walk.
Our own Free Range eggs are available for $7/doz as well as firewood for $10 per bundle
Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range!
We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please.
We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022!

Power up your Van or RV (zone 1) with outdoor plugs, and park on the newly created flat drive area.
For the more athletic, hike up to the cleared forest edge in zone 10 or get really rustic in zone 11 hike into the bush for some natural Bush floor camping.
There is a table fire pit (propane) for you to use and enjoy responsibly; as Muskoka always has a fire ban on in the summer.
There are 27 acres of beautiful Muskoka bush for you to explore and enjoy. If you’re feeling adventurous you can hike around the surrounding forest; stay within the property boundaries and you will discover the hydro cut and its valley view, the ravine, the waterfall, and a footpath that leads to a bridge at the back of the lot. Or simply just relax and enjoy the soundings and view from the sitting rocks.
The public beach for swimming is a quick walk down Beach Road. It has a large dock, picnic tables, grassy area along with an portapotty. Or check out the sandbar and drop off at the boat launch at the end of the road. The lake has a diverse shoreline and perfect for small boats and kayaks. Enjoy beautiful sunsets overlooking the western end of the lake.

LAKE
Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

Be sure to visit the local area, we are within a 15 minute drive of several restaurants, grocery store and the LCBO. The Kirkfield Lift Lock, Fenelon Falls, Balsam Lake Provincial Park and Lindsay are all within a 30 minute drive. There are miles of paved country roads and bike paths to explore the area. There are no bathroom facilities available.
Dogs are welcome but they must be always on leash as we have a cat, chickens and wildlife that roam the property. We also ask that you clean up after your pet.
Campfires are permitted unless there is a ban in effect.
We have seasonal insects we recommend you arrive prepared.

We stayed at the Hemlock Grove site with 7 people, 3 cars and had plenty of room! We had 2 hammocks and 3 tents, this site is great for hammocking. Brent was very accommodating and provided all the information we needed. Unfortunately we got hit with some bad weather, but I would recommend Tryfan Forest to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet weekend on a beautiful piece of land.

Wonderful place for weekend getaway! Excellent privacy. Have garbage cans which is a huge plus. Most sites don’t offer them. Well decorated washroom, with sink and water. Off leash friendly, our dog was very happy.
Most importantly there is this beautiful pavilion, with lights at night and big enough for at least 10+ ppl.
Everything is just perfect.

Lots of seating provided with brand new picnic tables for adults and kids. I am an avid kayaker and the Black River is just steps away. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again.

Elana and family were wonderful hosts! I booked a few days just to “get away” and reset, and this was a perfect spot to do so. The animals (mini donkeys, oh my goodness!, the goat who welcomed me alongside Elana, the ducks that swam around the pond…) and the “Enchanted Forest” were highlights. I would have stayed longer (much longer!) if I could, and hope to be back next year… maybe to see baby donkeys or Highland cows? :) Thanks so much for a lovely weekend.

It was a great spot to pitch a tent and unwind after a few days of fishing some Haliburton lakes. Easy to get to and Jennifer was a great and helpful host. The location is very scenic with the marsh and pond nearby and beautiful tall woods surrounding the site. We didn't get to meet Jennifer (we were too busy fishing all day) but she kept in contact and provided firewood as needed. The only downside I could think of was the barbecue on site didn't seem to have any propane, which was no big deal. We brought our own and actually didn't even know there would be one provided. The outhouse was a bit rustic, but for two guys living off the land it was a luxury to have a toilet at all. Lol. Would definitely go back!

Lovely spot right by the River on Paul's land. My friend and I pitched our tents on site #2 and had plenty of space to enjoy while also being completely seperated from the other sites.
This space offers the ease of car camping with the feel of backcountry - aside from the noise of cars near by (which didnt not bother us in the slightest, especially when sleeping at night)
I would love to stay here again and am so thankful that Paul has created this space to share with others.
